    Thanks, this is totally the sort of thing I should already know by now, but it's good to have people clear it up for me

    Tons of times..
    Last week cover IIRC featured Zetto on it.. Anyway out of the top of my head arlong, don krieg, crocodile and enel have appeared with luffy.

    Now that we are kinda talking about, the character apparition in a WSJ that I always thought was a bit odd was Shaka (Saint Seiya) he appeared alone, an equivalent would be a cover with a villian that is popular but it has always striked me as odd, I havent seen any other cover with a non-main character by himself/herself.

    @wintercry.
    Sasaki kinda had spoiled that bakuman fanbook in one of his tweets, IIRC he was interviewed or somethinf, it could be an intersting fanbook.

    I guess I look at movie promotion separately for some reason. I don't recall the others you listed, but it's interesting that it's all villains and not other supporting characters than the SH

    always important to remember that what bakuman itself presented was kinda loose in terms of reality because it had to serve the drama, but yeah, it'd be nice if the fanbook had some solid facts in it. Make my life easier, to be sure

    There's probably been some more full-color chapters than those in Jump's history. Right off the bat I only remember Hikaru no Go had one for chapter 160, but there should be a few more. So no it's not "normal" Newkerzy, but it's not unheard of either .

    Yes, Jump has had many luck from end of 2011 to end of 2012, especially since they probably need some big successes to replace the soon ending Naruto and Bleach (well, obviously not so soon, but Bleach is in it's last arc and Naruto last or second to last probably). With Nisekoi, Haikyuu, Saiki and of course AC (which is so popular by now that everyone here must know I'm obviously not talking about Air Conditioning ), recent series being successful is not strange anymore, so it would be more correct to say that one or two years ago not a single manga lasted into the long run. And really, in this week's ToC Naruto and Bleach seem to have already been replaced, even though they're not over yet (I remember reading a post saying that Naruto is unranked this week since it had a break some weeks ago, so, is it really ranked or not?). That being said, it's also sad that their era will be past in some years, it will soon be the time for those new series to be standing at the top of Jump, but the old ones won't be forgotten so soon.

    A fanbook is like a guide book (book with information about the characters etc. of a manga and usually other bonus) with participation from the fans of a series, like art, questions, and that sort of things by fans, I guess (I'm not too good at giving definitions). It's not uncommon for popular manga series to have a fanbook.

    And the Bakuman fanbook might be interesting.

    IIRC there is also this one chapter of Dragon Ball that was entirely in color, not just 2-3 color pages and then all other pages in tones of red, no, it was all color..
    I only recall one where they regroup to battle the first batch of Androids in the Cell arc.. If my memory is correct the one with Dr. Slump characters appearing is full color too.
    But those were 15 pages long IIRC, since Dragon Ball was only 15 pages or so long per week.

    Here is a picture of the editor of Haikyuu!! at Jump festa.... ( ̄□ ̄;)

    The editor of Assassination Classroom is also at Jump Festa walking around in a Korosensei costume, and the editor of PSI Kusuo Saiki is also walking around dressed as Saiki.
