Because I want to let the readers know more about the series that I love. Letting a series to get more attention is what I'm hoping for. Still I'm a beginner of scanlator but I will do my best.

I am trying to give back to the community, since this is where I come for my mangas all the time.
And to put my fluency to good use. I have been reading mangas all my life, so why not spread the joy around the world
Because, just like life, if you want to have something done, you have to do it yourself.
There is a mistaken proverb which tells us that those who are ignorant of the past are condemned to repeat it. In fact, they're lucky if they're allowed to repeat it. More probably, they're condemned to something even worse than the past. This is doubly true of those who believe that their ignorance somehow makes them morally superior to those who don't share it.

Re: Why do you Scanlate?
I was interested in reading online manga. That was the beginning. Then I once worked on a manga scan group which is now dead. I enjoyed working there, and added with my random curiosity, I decided to try building my own manga scan group.
I started reading volumes in my language when they were finally released in germany ^^
later i found animes and mangas on the internet and them being way ahead of my releases ;-(
and after a long time with no time to help / after stopping playing a certain game, i thought it was time to give something back
Was glänzt, ist für den Augenblick geboren,
Das Echte bleibt der Nachwelt unverloren.
That which glitters is born for the moment;
The genuine remains intact for future days.
- J.W. von Goethe (1749-1832), Faust I (Vorspiel auf dem Theater)
It's all started because of my hobby, I guess.
I enjoy cleaning and typesetting, and later on, I found out that I've got a bunch of Manga raws which seemed to be nice enough to be scanlated. I mean, why not?
Not to mention that I can't translate Japanese/Chinese, so I guess it's better to make a Scanlation, then work out for those Raws. If you know what I mean. It's just about hobby for me...
