All it said is that Kurapika's aura output increases greatly while under the effect of the eyes.
Again there's really no inherent superiority for being a Specialize person. Neon is completely useless at fighitng, so unless you've a bunch of guys who spend their life trying to figure out how to kill people, even if you've a group of all Specialize people there's really no guaranteed why you'd even try to develop fighting techniques. Also Specialize is furthest away from Reinforcement, which means you'll be very bad at hand to hand combat comparatively.
Materialize just absolutely sucks for combat purposes. If you want to materialize a sword, just go buy a sword. If you put say paralyze on your materialized sword, you can just coat a real sword with paralyzing poison. Materialize seems to be a strictly 'support' school when it comes to combat.
In HXH all the action is around fighting so we tend to think of it as a world where power is everything, but that's definitely not true. You can see that just being stupidly rich lets you buyoff services of guys like the Zs, for example. In theory, the Spiders would've lost at least Kuroro and possibly many others if Ilumi simply called a few seconds later on his pager (unclear if Zeno would've survived, but Kuroro is definitely dead). While there might be more 'warzone' type areas, there's also plenty of civilized area where you live in relative peace.
We know you can't develop an arbitarily large number of abilities. It's presumably capped by some combination of talent + effort, and learning everything is never an option. So even if everyone in the Kurta tribe can be a Specialize, it's not like they'll go: "Alright let's figure out a better way to kill people with our awesome heritage!" They'd probably just devote their talents into whatever they think may help the tribe at the moment, and it could easily have absolutely nothing to do with fighting.
And honestly if your goal is to try to move up in status in the world of HXH, Neon's ability is far useful than almost anyone else's ability as long as you've someone you can trust.
Yeah just like Alluka, the boy/girl is specialization, Komugi might be specialization too... Not all specialization users can fight, Meryem, Pitou and some specialization characters had animal instincts (they had it since birth) so they started good (on fighting) unlike people like Neon and the others, if you want them to learn how to fight, they can but it will take time...
anyway was it stated in the manga that GR was a new group that time? We know that the Zoldycks were legends and been operating for a long time... How about the GR, how long are they in the business? 6-10 years???
we all know that 2-3 of them are hunters (GR) did they learn nen becoz they were hunter and decided to create that group?

Kuroro is listed as 26 years old, and he obviously started the organization. Assuming this isn't like a typical RPG where people began doing legendary deeds at the age of 5, I'd say 10 years max looks reasonable (that'd mean he started leading the organization into prominence at the age of 16), so yeah, that range seems about right, at least for the core members.
I wonder how the scarlet eyes were discovered... Must be long ago...
I think number 4 or number 8 are scientist (at least one of them).... coz if they were 16... none of them know , meds, you need surgical skills to get those eyes and keep them fresh... and I wonder what kurapika is dong that time? all we know is he went home see the spider tattoe and....
Every time I read that argument about Specialization I wonder if Nen is a clear concept for everyone. I think this is obvious to say, but: Specialization means nothing. It's just another school of Hatsu that doesn't belong the others. It's not a superior shit or something.
The strenght of such a user is unstable, but I'd say that when it kicks in it surpasses an Enhancer's.
Any weapon coated with the poison Kuroro was using against Zeno will pretty much knock out anyone who doesn't have some kind of poison resistance (Zs, possibly some Ants). There's nothing strong about materializing a weapon that paralyzes someone when you can just coat it with poison to do the same thing. Poison resistance is a very rare property in HXH. Killua said the lightning whip would knock Gon out too (he resist it because he resists electricity), again that's something anyone with enough money could build. In fact when Killua used his lightning attacks, it was incorrectly interpreted as a taser by his opponent, suggesting a taser can exactly the same thing as what Killua did.
Using aura to duplicate special effects is a very inefficient use of your talent and just because almost nobody in HXH seems to use tasers/poisoned weapons doesn't mean they're strong. In fact, Kurapika's Chain Jail is really overkill as Shalunark stated all you have to do is do paralyze/sleep on contact (much weaker condition) and then you can easily win. I'd say the special effects on materialized weapons are almost for style points. If you want to actually get good at killing people, go buy the poison Kuroro was using.
Kuroro wasn't just explaining how it was possible for Manipulator/Materializer to win, he specifically said these 2 types are the ones that have the most chance of defeating Ubogin.
I don't think you can have a non-Nen effect that paralyzes/causes sleep on contact... it'd have on the very least to be something that penetrates the skin. Basically, it couldn't be a "blunt" weapon like, say... a chain.
On the Killua thing, Sub was clearly a much stronger(aura-wise) opponent than him, and his lightning was very weak. It was just used to showcase that what Sub felt was the same as a regular person getting shocked by a taser. If anything, that proves that Killua's lightning is far stronger than expected. Also, there's no such a thing as "no one has any lightning resistance unless otherwise stated", because Killua said to Gon that "Those attacks would be a trouble, even to you." (or something to that extent), keyword being "even", implying that there IS some sort of inherent lightning resistance aside from the specially trained one. Unless you believe Killua's lightning would've stunned someone like Meruem and someone like Zushi for the same time (Zushi would probably die, IMO).
About tasers, I don't think they're really strong, as I've explained above. About poisoned weapons, they're definitely efficient, but no one uses it as a primary weapon mostly because you'd have to train yourself to specialize in that, meaning that if you lost the weapon you'd be crippled. That's a thing regarding weapons in general, not just poisoned weapons, though. Basically, poison only works for surprise attacks like Kuroro's knife.
This is a very circumstantial thing, though, and I don't think any rule can ever be made out of this. Each fight is a separate case.
