The chapter came out early, enjoy!
Some of our predictions were right.
Wel got confirmation that he is indeed blind, not like there were any doubts left and he is a joint specialist. I dont know what to make of this chapters im guessing kenseis 3 disciples will fight the shinpaku alliance and miu/kenichi gonna sit this one out, mainly because it has being forever since any of those side characters had any spot light in a real fight. Dont know whats gonna happen with kensei, kind doubt he is inside that place and if he is i cant really picture all the masters gathering and just sitting around while 1 of them fights kensei, that scenario just looks silly to me.
Well, like I thought would happen, he kind of fodderized some Shinpaku members. Okay, sure, Sieg didn't really die and he likely could have put up some kind of fight, but Thor definitely got wrecked.
I want to see him fight Takeda though. It's been a long time since he's gotten a serious fight (Takeda vs Kenichi).
Rachel is more voluptuous than Miu.... Rachel.
After the D&D tournament Shinpaku Alliance stalled their growth or the opponents are better or this is not their day.
Well, thor getting beaten is not a surprise. He has always been of the lesser members of the shinpaku alliance. It is surprising he has gotten to his level without a master but that does not chance that he is nothing special overall. Seigfried is far from defeated. We already knew he would not be stopped by a broken neck, he has even turned his head 180 degrees. I guess the more important part here is that lugh does seem to have a huge weakness against seigfried. The fact that lugh is blind suggests he has developed hearing in particular and he uses that to fight. Taking that into consideration it is clear he will be very weak against seigfried's music based attacks such as whatever he did during the tournament. Seigfried could end up being the only one in the alliance outside of miu and kenichi able to fight a yomi.
Fight will be stopped for sure. Remember they were issued an order to back away and even Berserker obeyed. Lugh wanted to test the Shinpaku but the person who gave the order won't be happy. Confirmation that he is blind and his specialization is quite interesting and has lot of potential.
So he is blind. Good to have it confirmed. The extent of his skill still remains very much unkown. Thor is probably the weakest of the Shinpaku Alliance fighters, obviously Ukita is not being considered. So his defeat is pretty meaningless in the grand scheme of things. Sieg goes down at the beginning of almost every fight he has, so his down is pretty insignificant as well. Maybe we'll get to see Sieg in action, it's been a while. If he defeats Sieg then he could be considered to be a legitimate threat. Of the available Shinpaku fighters Sieg is likely inferior to Kenichi and Miu alone, so let's get this going.
Lugh seems to be quite fearsome. Even though we didn't see much of him, but even this much makes him a very strong opponent. I doubt he will loose here. He should be one of the new opponents for Kenichi as he needs to grow more, so he is bound if not to win this fight, but at least be able to get away out of here without a problem. He seems quite confident as well to be able at least not to loose, otherwise I doubt he would have tried to take them all at once. Especially since Yomi and especially their teacher Kensei know how strong Miu and Kenichi are, so to even try to face both of them at the same time is pretty cocky, but he as well faced the entire Shinpaku Alliance with Sieg and Takeda who aren't a joke either. I do doubt that they can still fight any member of Yomi, but at least they aren't weaklings.
Lugh managed to take Sieg and Thor at the same time, so I believe we might see him fighting for the next chapter and maybe one more and then I do believe he will retreat somehow and then Kenichi will need to train in order to increase his abilities. As for now I believe that to fight Lugh he will need to raise his senses in order to feel his opponent better, closer to what Lugh performs. As well he needs to learn how to counter those locks better and Akisame can help him to do it. I believe that he needs some training with Elder as well. I hope he will finally get some new moves from him, especially since Kenichi won't only need to fight Lugh, but also Berserker in this Arc.
Also Kenichi needs to level-up his speed to be closer to Miu and Rimi as he will need it later as well as he might be able to fight several opponents at once. They might not be as strong as Yami, but it's still quite troublesome to fight several opponents at once, thus you not only need to be strong and agile, but fast as well.
Shinpaku really has some catching up to do IMO. I understand that it's hard to give them named opponents, but why bother creating a big cast like that if you're just going to use them as filler and fodder?
It seems that this manga is mostly centered on Kenichi and Miu and their progress and relationship, so I believe they will get futher and futher away from their friends in terms of strength, but still I see the other members of Shinpaku Alliance getting stronger in every Arc. I believe in this Arc they will improve by fighting some nameless, but still considerably strong Yami members who are in low expert class, weaker than Yomi members, but still quite a fit to be defeated.
And I hope that after Kenichi fights Lugh and his Masters come back from Yami's base Kenichi will ask them to train him more and especially I want to see Elder teaching him some moves, to counter better Lugh's ability and also some moves to just get stronger to be able to fight Berserker as well as he seems to be considerably stronger than Lugh.
I wonder if the shinpaku alliance will end up fighting other members of magovion (or whatever they were called). I guess it would make sense taking in consideration most of them, with the exception of seigfried and maybe (just maybe but still seems short) takeda, appear to be plainly beneath in terms of strength, technique and talent outright below your average yomi. Well, technically they would make good opponents for standard yomi (say, raichi, the disciple of the broadsword guy) but not the ones who are direct disciples of the OSNF.
What I find strange is that kensei's disciples don't seem to be learning ancient martial arts so far. Berserker is just going through physical training it seems. rimi has gone through the speed training, lugh uses locks which unless my vague understanding of martial arts is wrong seems to be more in the category of jujitsu than the vaguely defined stuff which kensei practices. Ryuto is the only one who ever actually seemed to practice whatever kensei does. Maybe rimi too though, her talent is speed so she would have to get actual technique from kensei for her to work as a martial artist. I still wonder if lugh was the same guy who was introduced all those chapters back along with berserker, the hair of the original guy shown with him and rimi all the way back them seemed to have longer hair.
It might be an interesting option for them to fight Lugh's group of martial artists or maybe as well Rimi's Titans. It might be an interesting possibility for them to grow. Maybe even Kenichi fights some of them. Even though his goal in this Arc are Lugh and Berserk.
About your question about Kensei not teaching his ancient martial arts to his disciples... Actually he taught Rimi a bit of them. When she was fighting Miu and Shinpaku Alliance she used several leg techniques looking like Kensei's martial style. Ryuto seemed to learn Seikuken and his Gungnir from him. And we can include Seikuken in the same Ancient Martial Arts style as it seems it was developed by Elder...
Still, I agree that we didn't see him teaching more of his style to them. But we might still see something a bit later in the Arc, especially when Kenichi will have to face them individually.
I thought titan was the group made up by rimi, berserker and lugh rather than something else. It would be interesting to see just where exactly rimi came from though.
I don't think seikuken can be attributed to ancient martial arts. So far it seems to be a rather generic skill. Most weapon users have it apparently and we have seen it from kushinada and the elder (who does not use ancient martial arts per say). And from what I gather the elder did not actually train kensei, I think the manga said he refused. Not too sure on whether gungnir belongs to that either... The technique uses the minds eye or something which is not an actual part of the ancient martial arts either but rather a trait which masters acquire later on in their lives.
^That's not accurate I fear. The Elder said it himself he trained Kensei in the past; he taught him one of his secret techniques (Kazoe Nukite) according to the manga. He refused to make him the official disciple of Ryozanpaku eventually discovering his evil intentions, but not before he, Akisame, and Ma trained him a bit.
Titan was Rimi's group. Her code name their was Atlanti. So they are still capable to fight Shinpaku Alliance if they still exist as a group under Rimi.
I agree on Seikuken, but I don't know about Gungnir. It might still be it. And overall I believe it was stated that Ryuto was the one in Yomi to use Ancient Martial Arts.
Also as Blackreaper showed Kensei was taught Kazoe Nukite by Elder and it is a part of Ancient Martial Arts and one of Elder's 108 techs.
This tech was used as well by Rimi, when she tried to retrieve disk with the data from Tor. Though she used it not with her hands, but with legs, but I believe it's still the same style.
