JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)
Title: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure (2012)
Aired: Oct 6, 2012 to ?
Producers: David Production
Genres: Adventure, Action
Based on a manga: JoJo's Bizarre Adventure Part 1: Phantom Blood
(and possibly later parts too)
Jonathan Joestar, a young wealthy son living in Victorian England, has his life destroyed by a recently orphaned Dio Brando, who was taken in by Jonathan's father. Dio, who plots to drive Jonathan to insanity and inherit the Joestar fortune, becomes an unstoppable vampire that Jonathan must fight.
Surprisingly entertaining start, I thoroughly enjoyed it. The characters are weird but likeable (or you love to hate them), the voice cast is doing a pretty nice job and the animation is something out of the ordinary. Well probably everything about the series is out of the ordinary so if you're in for something refreshing, new (or rather old, as this manga is from the 80's) and special you should definitely give this a try!
Is it a sequel of the first Jojo bizarre adventure anime?
I haven't read manga before but watched anime series and thoroughly enjoyed it. After that I went and read the original manga series to see how it all started with Jojo and Dio. So glad that they are making this anime. Just watched the first episode and made me remember just how evil bastard Dio is.
The first episode was superb and highly entertaining. If this level of quality continues I really hope they will animate as much as possible from all the JoJo stories (even though it feels so unlikely with such a crazy amound of chapters). I actually felt like checking out the manga but I will wait a bit and see how the story develops.
The first episode is so amazing, even though for those who familiar with JoJo manga would feel that the anime is a little bit rushed. I love the coloring, voice acting and the drawing are so high quality. Dio is even more despicable in the animated form. The ED animation is pretty nice too, I'd definitely follow this series on weekly basis, hope the quality won't drop later.
This series definitely has style (it is JoJo after all), but the first episode did feel awfully rushed. I heard that the anime is going to be 26 episodes, so I'm left wondering how much of the manga it'll cover (probably Part 1 through 3 I think).
Part 3 is 16 volumes, even if you go with a volume per week it still would't cut it, it will be maximum part 1+2 which are 12 volumes together(~100 chapters) and probably with a very fast pace assuming that the anime is indeed 26 episodes.
As one who hasn't read Jojo yet I'm waiting for episodes to pile up before watching but in writing style would you say the manga in terms of information per episode would be closer to HXH/OP style where it takes a while to read a chapter or more like HNI/Bleach where you can read a chapter in 2 minutes flat?

I love that David Production got the rights to use this awesome song as the anime's ending theme:
I cannot wait to hear what the opening theme will be!
Jojo needs more love
I enjoyed the second episode as much as the first one, it's just so awesomely over the top and intense. Jojo and Dio both are pretty interesting and I'm totally captivated by their constant fight. As much as I want Jojo to just get rid of Dio next time I feel like some kind of tragedy will happen. Shit is probably about to get serious, Dio will probably turn into a vampire and... kill everyone besides Jojo who's barely able to escape? Sounds like a good possibility =/
Anyway, anyone who hasn't definitely should give this a try
jojo is badass, the 2nd episode was epic. And dat opening
Wow, the 2nd episode is even better than the first. The OP looks great, but I'm not really into the song, somehow Yes is better . Yes, there would be more shits coming in the next episode. I think now I'm getting used to the pace of the anime. I feel that the studio is able to maintain the story very well.
Is it just me, or does anyone else that Speedwagon's voice is a little weird. I mean I expect more of a "cool guy" voice for him, but the voice he's got pretty much accentuates the over-the-top-ness of this series (not necessarily a bad thing). Episode 3 was pretty great. I loved all the moments where the animators went all psychadelic with the animation (this is most notable when a character is thinking to himself). I have to say that I was pretty disappointed with how Koyasu did Dio's infamous "Wryy" cry, but then he managed to do it awesomelly towards the end of the episode. I love how he says JoJo's name by the way
I don't know how you guys feel when you watch this anime in English, but it's quite awesome when I(Japanese) watch it in Japanese because Araki's usage of Japanese is amazing and the seiyus perfectly perform it.
Niconico douga which is the most popular video site in Japan streams this anime's live every week. 50 thousands people came watch episode 6 and 98.9% of them answered "Very good"(95.7%) or "Good"(3.2%). They stream many animes, but 95.7% "Very good" is incredible rating.
I just watched part 2. Tomokazu Sugita
