Chu 2 byo demo Koi ga Shitai!
Director: Ishihara Tatsuya
Starring: Uchida Maaya and Fukuyama Jun
Studio: Kyoto Animation
Yuuta Togashi suffered from chuunibyou while he was in middle school. When he graduated, he put that dark history behind him and forgot about it... or he was supposed to. High school was smooth sailing and full of enjoyment - until the unavoidable, sad event occurs. The event that locks Yuuta into a contract with Rikka Takanashi and disrupts his desperately ordinary life.
From the Director of Air, Kanon, Clannad, and Suzumiya Haruhi

This thread needs more love.
I think Chu-2 byo so far is one of the most lovely and adorable series of this fall, very refreshing. KyoAni, After producing calm yet beautiful Hyouka, moving on to Chu-2, which is in my opinion simply... hysterical.
Maybe the school setting is generic for KyoAni, but in my opinion they able to make average premise into something really interesting. You can see that by looking at "Chu-2 Byo", which has a very typical topic but really hilarious.
The animation quality is great, and it's not really distinct from Hyouka, so I think for the fans of Hyouka, you might want to check this out too. The Male MC, who apparently has the role of tsukkomi for the Female MC, is surprisingly attractive (in terms of personality). Hands down, it's easy to conclude that Rikka is the main attraction of this Anime. She captures the spirit of "イタイ" of Chu-2 byo, yet she is an adorable girl. She is genuinely wants Yuuta as her ally to defeat the bureau
This show absolutely has potential, I recommend you to watch it, especially for those who want a lighthearted, fun, and adorable series for this fall.
Couldn't agree more, Chu2byo has been my highlight of the season so far. A worthy follow up to the Haruhi franchise, so far maybe as good. I can't recall ever laughing so hard at an anime. Episode four was the best yet, I nearly fell out of my chair when Rikka found Yuuta's porn. The highlight of the episode was the truth about Nibutani. I should have known she'd turn out to be more than generic moe love interest.
4th episode has a nice surprise. Who would have thought that Nibutani was also suffer from Chu-2 byo disease too? The best part of the 4th episode for me was when Yuuta read Nibutani's delusional account and then her reaction (rolling on the floor and screaming) completely shatters her "perfect" image. I couldn't agree more that this episode makes Nibutani more interesting character rather than as a "perfect girl who is interested in Male MC".

KyoAni is releasing bonus material on its website after each of Chu-2 byo episode is aired. For example, this is KyoAni's staff comments on the episode 4:
This is the first time we’ve seen Shinka in casual clothing.
It appears that Yuuta keeps his room tidy.
Director/Storyboarder: Eisaku Kawanami:
So then, this was the fourth episode of Chuunibyou. I’m Kawanami and I was in charge of directing this episode.
This story featured Nibutani and all the various expressions she showed. I pondered, contemplated, and then tried my best to think of ways so that people wouldn’t hate her. The female staff also didn’t want her to spoil the fun, so they drew her with a lot of love. And so that’s how the fourth episode was sculpted (?).
Of course Yuuta, Rikka, and Dekomori were also cute in their various ways this episode. Yuuta was really cute! It may have been due to his chuunibyou, but his dazed look was quite lovely.
We tried to finish this episode like it was a manga since the story was similar to one you’d see in one. Definitely watch this episode, enjoy it, and disappear within the flames of darkness (○´∀｀○)!
In-Between Animation Checker: Motoki Matsumura:
This is Matsumra, the person in charge of examining the in-between animation.
This was the first of the Chuunibyou episodes I checked. I have a lot of memories of checking over Dekomori’s hair. That Mjölnir hammer is terrifying.
And finally….Nibutani’s secret is out! That quick change of character for her is so cute ^^. I really like the relationship she and Dekomori have. They make such a great pair! I hope there’s a lot more chuunibyou that will come after this episode!
Photographer Akihiro Ura:
This is Ura who was tasked with photographing episode four.
Nibutani played a big role in episode 4′s story. The secret that the cool Nibutani, who Yuuta was attracted to, was finally revealed. This episode was definitely loaded with various actions and moves from Nibutani.
Again, we photographers put a large amount of spirit in this episode’s action scenes. There was a lot of effort put in so the CG and special effects would make the episode look really cool.
This chuunibyou fourth episode was loaded with love and action. We definitely hope you enjoy it.

Seeing the stereotypical moe girl writing in embarrassment was hilarious! Her reaction was identical to Yuuta's, whenever he recalls his past. There seems to be a little tsundere in her too. I had expected her to be Yuuta's idealized girl, the one he had to hide his chuunibyou past most carefully from. She hardly seems as reformed as he is either. He seems to have really given up his delusions, she barely seems able to suppress hers.
This really is the most weird harem I ever saw... and this means something XD
I thought Nibutani was a sweet girl... Well... That escalated quickly...
However. The fighting scenes are ridiculously good. I mean what the hell? XD
Moe for the win. Can't wait to see some development between Rikka and Yuuta *.* erm... sorry... The tyrannt eye and the dark flame master

I love when the fights switch from fantasy back to reality to show is Rikka doing nothing more than waving an umbrella around, or rolling around on the floor with a broom. She cracks me up. I would also like to see her relationship with Yuuta develops, especially how she handles the inevitable crush. For some reason I expect even romance to be subverted through her chuunibyo, at least early on.
Chu2byo reminds me of the Haruhi franchise in the best possible sense. Every character is a little more (or less) than what they seem, each tweaking moe tropes and expectations.
Not reading the posts yet because I've only watched one episode but I have to say that I loved it. Gave me a great Haruhi vibe and I already know that I will love this show
Gonna watch the rest now~
Damn her smile was out of this world... Can't get enough of it.
Great episode. Nice to see some development between those two.
After hearing so many Haruhi comparisons about this show, I decided to give it a shot. After watching up to episode 5, I think this may be the funniest anime I've ever seen. I guess there's no real need to repeat what everyone else has already said, but Rikka is absolutely hilarious and clearly the best character on the show. My heart really went out to her in episode 5, when she was talking about her sister always coming home late and then listing the very small number of people she had in her life. Her loneliness and lack of attention from others is undoubtedly a big part of why her delusions persist. It's a way to stand out, feel special, extraordinary, important, etc.
Also, when Yuuta went into his Dark Flame Master mode, he was tooootally Lelouch. I loved it! It was so sweet of him to do that for her, despite being so desperate to shake his former persona. The expression on her face showed how much she appreciated it. Very cute and heartwarming moment. <3
Mori Summer is really hilarious in the 6th Episode
I really like the moment when Dekomori using her past Chu-2 Byo ramblings, and then she's rolling on the floor, honestly I could not get bored watching Nibutani suffers.
I'm happy that Isshiki appears again, I always waiting to watch his interaction with Yuuta again, and he's indeed hilarious. Only in Chu-2 Byo cutting your hair could become so dramatic. I'm still wondering though, who sent a love letter to Isshiki, I suspected Nibutani, but I guess we would never know. Isshiki and Kumin pairing is not bad either.
I'm looking forward for next episode Beach trip arc.
Could anyone please do me the favor to make a gif out of Nibutani rolling in a circle while Isshiki jumps? It's beyond hilarious.
Just wondering about one thing... Why are all of the boys in this class such... well... "puss*s"? Kinda annoying if you ask me. And why the shouting... My ears... x.x
But I love Nibutani and Dekomori fighting out of nowhere... Epic XD
Oh well, I thought Beach arc supposed to be fun and lighthearted. I think finally we know why Rikka feels so depressed and become infected with Chu-2. I guess I could understand Rikka's feeling after finding out that her memento is disappeared right in front of her eyes. Come soon, next week!
Really a very good episode. Episode 7 establishes Rikka as more than a silly, if lovable, moe girl. Her chuunibyou is fueled by real, and believable, family drama. Her fathers "sudden" death, moving to her grandparents, her strict grandfather. All this would be enough for a high school freshman to cling to childhood fantasies. This also explains why, before meeting Yuuta, she was so isolated. Her discovery that her childhood home was gone, and her happy memories with it, was heartbreaking.

Rikka sure looks cute in a bikini
Well that was heartbreaking though... Escaping to a dream world because the mind isn't able to accept reality... Yuuta is kinda the only person in the world which tries to understand her.
The story develops and the romance was fueled.
Remember this show had brilliant good fighting animation? I await another one next time paired with the dark flame master in action. THAT would be legendary.
