In the manga all Zanpackos have different names and none of them have simiar parts to them apart from 3. Engetu zangetus and Aizens. Could this mean that these swords are related to each other and the owners. Ishhin is Ichigo's father, but does this mean that Aizen is related to these two.
Does this mean that the manga is a big family pissing contest.
and I'm sure theres one or two more.
Aizen's sword name is actually an expression. Kyoukasuigetsu can be read as "something seen but untouchable."
Getsu means "Moon", I think, and for what I know, Aizen's mean "Moon mirrored in the water", Isshin's means "Waning Moon" and Ichigo's "Crescent Moon".
See above, zanpakutou have different names, these 3 only have in common "Moon".
Engetsu and Zangetsu are undoubtedly related somehow. That they both can use Getsuga Tenshou means that there almost has to be some similarity.
Kyouka Suigetsu, on the other, is likely totally unrelated. It has a completely different power (Absolute Hypnosis), and the name is actually a bit poetic, as others above me have mentioned.
You'd have a better chance of trying to argue that Tenken and Tengumaru are related to each other. After all, both Shikais are huge and they belong to 7th squad Captains.
ther is most deffinitly not a relation between aizen and ichigo/isshin... the whole thing that probably started this assumption is because isshin's zanpaktou's had the same ability and also close to the same name... but you got to remember that there is only one reason why they have almost the same zanpaketou and that's because they are father and son.. what everyone needs to remember is that there has never in history been a shinigami that has had a child... In my mind is that if Shinigami had children they too would also have similar to zanpaketou abilities... So no Aizen's zanpaketou has no relation towards ichigo's or isshin's zanpaketou...
The only canon example of a shinigami descended from a shinigami is Byakuya, his grandfather was squad 6 captain during TGTP. No mention of parents, no mention if zan abilities are passed down. Zangetsu and engetsu are definitely connected. They both have already been shown to have GT. Other than having moon in the name I see no connection with Kyoukasuigetsu. The abilities aren't even similar, and illusion type vs. a melee type.
"Getsu" means moon in Japanese.
To be more specific.
Zangetsu- "zan" as in cutting, "getsu" in moon. Translated as "moon cutter."
Engetsu- this is translated into "Crescent Moon."
Kyoika Suigetsu- translates to "Mirror Flower, Water Moon." Obviously "Suigetsu" is translated into the "water moon" part, with "sui" meaning water. Aizen's zanpakuto reflects on an old Chinese proverbial saying; both the moon reflected on the surface of water and a flower in a mirror are things that can be seen but not held. This is to reference the illusionary/sensory effects of the zanpakuto.
Out of these three, Engetsu and Zangetsu are the only two with any substantial relationship with one another. Not only are they the zanpakuto of a father and his son, but both zanpakuto are able to use the move Getsuga Tenshou.
Aizen's zanpakuto has no direct correlation to either of the other two zanpakuto. Remember, just because three different zanpakuto share a common word in their naming, does not automatically mean that they are related in any way.

there could be a connection, i doubt that the protaginist, his father and the main antagonist share such a similarity just for the lolz.... oor, it could be kubo trolling us , or simply keeping a door open that he could use in the future if need be. besides i think that's his style he introduces a lot of vague elements that then uses as sees fit. like the kaien similarity, it was introduced at first and seemed like it was directly connected to ichigo but as the story became more complicated kubo turned it to a sidestory regarding rukia alone.
i would really like it if kubo keeps aizen separate from Kurosaki tapestry.
it would be pissingly annoying if aizen does a
to isshin or
fatherunlce to ichigo
will just ruin bleach to your every day cliche manga
I think Aizen's Zan is totally unrelated to Ichigo's and Isshin's zans. But Ichigo and his father should have practically the same Zans, with the same or practically same sealed form, shikai and Bankai.
'related' doesn't necessarily mean by blood; like father-son, or an uncle. could be sth else... but basically, i think kubo just incorporated this element in a long line of generalisations as he usually does and might or might not use it later on.
