Buckle up for the restart of the storied street/drift racing franchise because 6 years after the last installment, Initial D is at the starting line once again with its fifth season. Shigeno Shuichi has kept the manga running this entire time so there’s plenty of races left in the tank for Fujiwara Takumi and his legendary tofu delivery vehicle/drift machine, a Toyota Sprinter Trueno GT-APEX (AE86). He’ll be joined by his former rival Takahashi Keisuke in his Mazda RX-7 (FD3S) as they team up and try to conquer touge (mountain pass) races all over Japan and hopefully gain the skills to move on from the streets and onto the track.

first impression: It's here, it's finally here, it's real mudabishes been waiting for that one since years, it was supposed to be released at 2008 but it was just a troll Now it's back and after watching the first episode i can say it's as exciting as before. There is nothing better than initial D to get you hooked on your screen. Now i'm already waiting for the next episode unfortunately they're planning to release only 2 episodes per months

yeah the imposter were funny and that was a good way to start the season but i'm glad they didn't waste much time on them. And yeah the new girl is sugoiii and we already know what to expect

Episode 1

Having only watched the movie, it took me some time to get used to the art and to the story itself, but once I did it I was able to enjoy this episode to the fullest!

The imposters were hilarious! I especially liked the confrontation with the real ones.

The girl…I liked her. I can’t wait for her and Takumi to meet again.

Keisuke…I don’t remember him from the movie, but I like him. I especially liked what he said to the imposters, his lines were priceless!

Looking forward to episode 2!

That is true as well - not sure how much the movie gave the bg on but maybe its enough to appreciate the series.

4th stage have 24 episodes but its the best season so far
