That leaves 5 win unknown that must be spread amongst 2 people. However, Damala Sky (4th ranking) is not mention to have any championship. Assuming 3 or 4 win for Chiyo, who is mention to be in the top 5, I'm guess the other person would have be the current unknown number 3?
i tihnk 1 of the winners might be frohze not so sure but he can be. and check your math

Have in mind that gourmet cells grant great longevity. Acacia was said to have lived for more than 600 years, and Ichiryu, Jirou and likely Setsuno are well over 100, maybe even 200 years old.
i dont know if they r so strict about any1 except bishoukukai in the rankings. since livebearer and tairan do and did had rankings even they were outside the jurisdiction of IGO. not so sure if they r included nowadays also.

about the age issue i thought about the gourmet cells but still it is ridicoulus to have 29 times winner and 14 times winners. they r possibly in their 200s or there abouts.or in this manga human life expectancy starts from the 200. in any case a little moderation about the winnings might have been better or the aging.(at least for chefs) it ultimately defeats the purpose of being great in the end. any1 who lives long will have more experience so it isnt about being good in the end so it bugs me.

Yeah they have extra long lives in this Manga, but its just another thing that makes this world unique - doesn't bother me personally. Also remember that all those top ranked cooks were in awe of Komatsu's ability to simplify the medicinal mochi, even after all their years of experience a newbie (in comparison) showed them a thing or two about cooking. I think Komatsu has a good chance to up his ranking here and develop, but he needs to do in line with Toriko. If he is a better chef than Toriko is a fighter it would ruin the awesome streak they have had of growing side by side.

On a side note I do really hope Komatsu breaks out his dragon knife and accidentally cuts the stadium in half making half the cooks forfeit or something lol.

Well, Gourmet Age seems to last already for around 200 years and Ichiryu seems to be around this age. The same goes to Jirou and Midora. It seems that Ichiryu is the oldest among these three and Jirou a bit younger or mor or less the same age, while Midora obviously the youngest as he is stated to call Ichiryu a big brother.

Also I don't see a problem with Setsuno and Zaus winning so many Tournaments. Well, they are damn skilled cooks and Setsuno is a Gourmet National Treasure, so it's quite obvious that she should have deserved it.

P.S. Not all the cooks and Bishokuya live that long. Only those who have Gourmet Cells.

Chiyo isn't ranked 3rd anymore, since the Chefs are ranked monthly, while Chiyo was gone for the past two years or so.

Atashino must be ranked 3rd now, in my opinion. Not only she's a member of the 0 Biotope, but also a highly skilled Chef with whom Ichiryu have entrusted the task of preparing Atom. So my guess is that Chiyo might've won a couple of times in the past, then she disappeared, Atashino took her place and won the last couple of times in recent years.

I'm not gonna underestimate Komatsu he can do things even the worlds best can't do. I was surprised he only ranked 88th in the world but this tournament is a good place to shorten the gap between him and the very best. That is if it isnt attacked.

How do these contests work can u just cook anything or is it where you have to make use of a specific ingredient?

Maybe Chef God Frohze - I mean, Melk the First has seen his knife, although maybe Melk is quite old as well.

The top 30 does seem fairly impressive, I think Komatsu will improve in rankings but who knows by how much?

Actually thinking about it, how fast would 4 years fly in this manga? Will it last long enough to see Komatsu win a championship? Maybe this would be one of his best chances, although he probably won't win.

Also to add: We have yet to seen the 3rd, 20th, 23rd and 28th ranked chef yet. A bloke called Moh was mentioned as being in the top 30 way back so he most likely occupy on of those spots.

Not sure how the test are going to go, would be interesting if it wasn't just cooking tho. Who could chop the fastest/most. Who can pick out the best ingredients by only smelling their scent or looking at them. Picking the best pots to cook in, but they are all hidden in blank boxes so your food luck comes into play. Slaying a high level beast and dressing it before it hits the floor. The author never really seems to lack on creativity so I'm sure we're in for a treat!

As far as how I think Komatsu will do, I'm with Jorge...I think he'll put on a good show, but if he does anything that would make it seem like he belongs higher than the top 50 or 40 then I think that would be going a little too far. At least at this point in the manga. I think he'll show great potential and surprise some people, but in the end the higher ranking chefs will pretty much shut him down.

I also don't think that the festival will be completed this year. This is just a prediction, but I think the Bishokukai and the mystery master mind (Joa) will come in a cause a mass distraction or just an all out attack, and take advantage of by ganging up and catching some of the higher ranking chefs off guard and kidnapping them behind the scenes. Or by doing things like using hostage or innocent bystanders. You know in mangas its always harder to fight when you're trying to protect someone.

The one thing I love about this cooking fest is that if a battle will take place here we will see epic Fights why? Because there are a lot of old guys here and given the Old guys is a super badass most of the time ex.(Bleach=Yamamoto,Beelzebub-Most old guys) so if a battle takes place it will be epic..

As for Komatsu I think he will just wow the other chef and make a solid place as a rank chef not just by his luck but by his skill as this will be the ticket to the gourmet world

Just because Melk I have seen his knife doesn't mean Frohze was alive 200 years ago. What if, lets say, that the tradition began following his death?

As for how fast time flies in this manga... it's been a year since the end of Ice Hell arc.
I don't remember if I posted it here, but I'm just going to repost my post from another board:

6 months of Toriko healing and Komatsu preparing the soup. Since chapter 125 it's been over 5 months since. How do I know this?

Sunny says that he will get off the carriage in about a month, then Coco says that two months later he will get off close to Jidal Kingdom. We know that by the time we visit the casino there, Coco's already been to Jidal Kingdom. So three months. Add to that the month that passed after Toriko and Komatsu's hunt for the Dorian fruit, it makes it 4 months. Add another month of traveling to Sand Garden via the Lift House.

Well of course I'm not going to rule out that possibility, I did say 'although Melk might be quite old as well', I should've been clearer.

Well at any rate, I do look forward to this arc a lot.

    Re: Toriko 212 Discussion Thread

    Yep, the 3rd, 20th and 23rd weren't introduced.

    Personal Prediction:
    • Next chapter will probably feature the three remaining top 30 chefs that weren't introduced.
    • Bishokukai will most likely invade the stadium, but will probably be only able to kidnap about a dozen or less of the below 50 chefs, or the one's who didn't get past the first round of the competition.
    • Komats gets in the top 5 position of the Cooking Fest, but doesn't win.
    • However, as the chef to take the greatest leap in the rankings, I'm guessing he'll get MVP, with the prize being some high quality cooking utensils, like a Kuriboh pot, or a Melk I knife.
    • Neither Zaus or Setsuno is first, but someone new. If it is a bad guy like Joa or one of the Bishokukai, he/she might have cheated.

don't think Joa would need to cheat.

    Re: Toriko 212 Discussion Thread

Well, it might be that we won't starve too much from Toriko's absense. I hope we might get chapter next week or the week later. Still, I might be wrong, but let's hope for the best.
Though it would be really unfortunate if we won't have our beloved Toriko manga for a month.

About the plot of the upcoming chapter... I believe the upcoming one and several chapters that will come after it will be mostly based on the actual cooking and hyping of the top Chefs. Hope we'll see some interesting performance from the top 20 of the Chef Ranking. The thing that is interesting is that most of the high-ranked Chefs are specialists in some fields (one or several) of cooking, but we don't know if they are overall great. We also have Lifebearer who is overall good in different fields, but doesn't have anything that special and his talent obviously is below the topdogs, but he is ranked 17th. That's a very good place.
