I will give "0" to the story of 134(I totally agree with you Goral, and every one can expect what will happen in the next ch) but a high score on the overal drawing and etc.
Personally it's been long for me to read such a chapter with great excitement and feel"WTF the CH is ended here?" in the very last.

It's a farely good "end charpter" for Vol 24 btw.
Very nice drawing, merely no progress in the story but making us can't wait for the next Charpter.

And I agree that drawings are very good, I even like designs of each and every AB in this chapter. Also, I can understand the reason why Yagi is doing it, i.e. it would be a waste to introduce all of these ABs without showing their awakened forms and abilities first but IMO he should have done it earlier, not now. Now it's too obvious that he's just stalling the story and writing more chapters to fill another volume.

god you are super negative. wasn't already stated that there is a distinct difference in the overall aiblities of a claymore and its awakened form? not to mention that miria is not known for brute strength, and that the blade's sturdy nature does not equal damage as seen with the likes of douf

these awakened have simply developed bodies for specilization instead of blunt power like roxanne or cassandra. while cassandra will not fall easily, i think it is too simple to presume they will insta die.

jsut for one. it is a well confirmed fact that awakened have a distinct advantage over claymores. claymores are limited to theri swords while awakened have fully realized abilities. it does make more sense an awaken can cause more damage to a fellow awakened. not to mention this lot is probably in the same class our logn deceased silver eye lion, and he could spare with the likes isley.

i think it is obvious that if the destroyer priscilla is far from finished yet. its gonna get real serious real fast here. though i think it is because of the destroyer's nature that it is not dead yet after that attack.
not to mention that i doubt the riful doll has shown us a single fucking thing yet. it is still in a humanoid form right now.

things are gonna get serious here. a good chapteri owuld say.

that can be said for more than a handful of manga or stories as well. still, i liked how it showcased them here.
don't see claymore ending anytime soon though. especially considering that the mainland holds a lot of potential story and intrigue.

It's because the difference in abilities has been stated that I'm being so "negative" (I call it logical but whatever). Miria seemed to have no problems with shrimp twins who were definitely at a level of high ranking ABs (they were supposed to take place of Alicia and Beth after all). She also defeated Hysteria in both human and awakened form (and it doesn't matter that she was super lucky, the fact she could last this long against her and actually damage her is enough). She also had no problems with defeating the AB that attacked Rabona and along with Clare she dealt with her instantly.

As for Miria not being known for brute strength, true but that also applies to Clare or Irene. QS was never as powerful as Jean's drill sword for example and yet Clare could do what Miria couldn't. Besides, Miria has her speed and she used it to try and penetrate through Cassie's armour. Unfortunately for her even with all her momentum she didn't have enough power to do what Clare or ABs could with ease without taking a big run-up.

Very first impressions:

I agree with the quality of drawing, but am strangely kind of underwhelmed with the AB designs, with the exception of the gaping maw AB and Octavia which are cool. Although they are all imaginative.

Is Octavia called wild horse Octavia because she looks like a horse, and her limbs seem like whips? I think it was miria who called her that? It couldn't have been a nickname she got as a claymore, unless her personality was like that before she awakened

Priscilla's head is about to undergo the dreaded severing! Agree with the guys above though, probably won't happen. If it does and she stays alive somehow then maybe Priscilla is not a being but a yoki-field that manifests physically locally. this is probably not the case. but at least I don't think we've seen any claymore characters this damaged yet live at this point.

I think my favourite page is the second to last one with Teresa, Galatea etc

Wow, I'm surprised Goral. You're usually critical of Yagi's drawings. I'm not entirely opposed to the idea of awakened warriors assisting the current generation at all. It provides a sense of closure that they have a hand in finishing some of the plans set in motions by the Organization or by some of its former and dubious members.

Perhaps, it's my personal bias as I do prefer the earlier chapters but I find these current ABs lacking in form. The one that exploded in Cassandra's mouth looks like an armored beetle, another that appears to be a little kiwi that can actually fly and on the same panel, yet another that appears to be a miniature Hysteria. When you create something as beautiful as Jean's awakened appearance or one that is menacingly sexy as Priscilla, these guys appear bland and uninspiring.

However, I believe it is Octavia that delivers the saving grace. She has an appearance very similar to Isley. Instead of the Centaur, we see the mythical horse Pegasus. I do believe those are wings on the side of the equine body. Now that is an AB for the ages. IMHO, there has to be a beauty that we can admire and find some redeeming quality, even in the face of a flawed character.

My question is whether anyone would want extensive backstory and characterization for all the vets? Because that would take a long time to go though. So I'm fine with just the most important characters getting (i.e. Jean, Priscilla) getting the most intricate designs. For the vets group the main characters are Octavia, Chronos, and Lars. I like Jean's form reflecting her desire to not hurt anyone, I like Priscilla's balance of human and monstrous characteristics. That got me thinking after rereading older chapters that if a very low ranking claymore with no special skills awakens their form would be more of a "generic" variety that has little specialties mirroring their claymore status. Indeed we're seen some ABs that could cosplay as yoma and I doubt their former rank was higher than 40. The experimental males also had more "uniform" forms. What I'm trying to say is there is a story applicable reason for this beyond the understandable reason that not every minor AB should get 10 hours of thought put into them.

I was quite amused by the many facial expression of Cass' tentacles but of course I feel sorry for them for the suffering they keep going through. On the other hand my girl who is still drugged up still has that bored expression and it appears she hasn't even activated that technique. My dear, had you just used that from the start without caring about how it looks you wouldn't have gotten scratched up but such chastising is inappropriate in this case. All I can tell without translations is a reaction to what's going on the other front of this battlefield.

Those Awakened forms were awesome, id have to say my fave was the Dancing Blade Lady. It would appear Yagi can still make kick ass Awakened forms But ill need to see more of Octavias form before i can say how i feel about it, and venus fly trap was quite gross XD overall i liked the other Womans Awakened forms they were neat.

And although Cassandra is being shredded up she hasnt even moved yet once she retaliates theyre done for

And whats happened to Priscilla ? Shes been absolutely owned XD although i think the destroyer will just regenrate her because it cant let its host die XD

Is it safe to guess that the human portion of Octavia's Awakened form is what she looked like during her time as a Warrior ?

It looks like once Octavia gets started she doesent care who gets in her way when she fights, i wonder what Miria said when she noticed Octy Awaken ?

I don't know what to say, this chapter is "meh". And I totally agree with Goral, Ghosts now look like small babies compared to this AB's that attacked Cassandra.

But I agree it's cool that Yagi showed us how strong AB's are and how pretty their awakened forms are ( I think that BleachFan2010 and number12michaele fainted of excitement when they saw it ) but I think it's little over the top how he presented riful dool. She was actually able to beat Priscilla into that condition where her head is going to be separated from her body.

Overall this chapter is medium-core because even if AB's are awesome we all know what will happened next to both Riful dool and those AB's.

I dont think the Awakened will go down just yet, I think Cassandra might be beaten up like Priscilla and the Ghosts will probably intervene when they see an opening. I think theyll be pretty foolish to jump in-between the fight because the Awakened probably wont even care if they kill them because Octavia nearly got Helen when she unleashed her whips XD

I think there will be a scene where Cassandra will wipe all the awakened ones who are fighting her in one hit. Octavia will probably survive, but will receive fatal injuries. Twists like that. Just like how Priscilla decapitated Alicia in an instant.

Same twist will happen to Priscilla/Destroyer vs Rifauf/Dauful. Priscilla/Destroyer, while regenerating, will rip Rifauf/Dauful into pieces in a second. Then the demoralized Ghosts will suddenly receive help from the rejuvenated last generation warriors. The twins will back them up. Anastasia will spread all her available hair in the area while warriors will divide themselves equally to input their yoki on all ends... stuffs like that... Then from afar, Chronos and Lars will continue being shocked and comment in awe "This is the power of the warriors today?"... phrases like that...

That is not likely to happened as they would need at least few more days to arrive from Organization HQ.
Remember that Ghost arrived in Rabona in 10 days, otherwise they would need 20. Even if the others head immediately to Rabona they will not make it in time to see the end if the fight.

At last, we get to know the awakened forms of these veterans. So the elf girl basically is a giant vagina dentata. If the awakened form is an actual reflection of their personality when they were still claymores, I wonder what she was like. But then again, Roxane was a true hoe and she awakened to be some random nonsense+her whorish smile.
