Probably shouldn't keep popping up with little things but I figure if I get help on the early material I'll know more by the time I'm further in.
So I'm still taking a crack at Harenchi Gakuen, and have started translating the first chapter, but have had this early bubble keep causing me trouble.
ホホホホ / なかなか / りつはな学校 / ざますわね
(slashes indicate new column in the bubble)
I've got it as "Hohohoho, quite, the schools do not rate, not sitting down."
Each section translates pretty clearly, but having them make sense in sequence is a bit of a headache. So I was just wondering if anyone has any advice on how to tackle such situations, and indeed this one in particular.
Thanks in advance just for having a peek.
the speaker and the speech style:Quote:
spoken by perhaps a middle-aged rich woman often with glasses
ホホホホ / なかなか / りつはな学校 / ざますわね =
あははは/ なかなか / りっぱな学校 (with a small っ; 立派 in kanji) / ですね
(sound of laugh) / quite / (great or) outstanding school / isn't it?
Does it make sense now?
Yes, thank you, that helps immensely
