Yeah, he's one of the most underrated artists. The name to symbol thing was because of some fight he had with a record company, so instead of performing under Prince, he just picked a symbol. Pretentious, but yeah.

He's become underrated over the years. Back in the 80's and 90's he was a superstar. Changing his name to symbol really hurt his reputation. He was already too strange, and his music to quirky, to really become classic rock despite how popular he was during his prime. Sadly, he does not allow his music to be posted to youtube. When Dove's Cry is a great song, but I would have rather posted "When You Were Mine" or "Raspberry Beret".

Well yeah. You don't make a Rock Opera without being a superstar. But I feel like his talent is under-appreciated, and his impact undervalued. His halftime show in Super Bowl XLI is probably the best halftime show in recent years, maybe ever. I just feel like he's forgotten about sometimes, some of that is his doing though.

I remember him being a sensation and all but even then, I never liked him. And that was the time I was into Pop, Dance etc...hadn't started listening to metal and its various genres. He and George Micheal were one my Hate List.

I like George Michael too. He made good pop songs. As did Prince, but there was a layer beneath all of that. He's an incredibly talented musician and song writer.
