Youth and Beauty Hunter
This type of thread may exist already somewhere, but with the most recent chapter we've been flooded with new types of Hunters that one can become. So, if you were a Hunter, what type (or types) of Hunter would you be?
Also, discuss the specifics of the different types, or any new types you can think of.
Here are a list of, I think every type of Hunter that's been mentioned in the series so far:
Youth and Beauty Hunter
(In the most recent chapter Biscuit was described as 'Gem Hunter'. I've counted this as type of Treasure Hunter.)
Some of the new types have quite cryptic names. Crime Hunters are different to Blacklist Hunters, though I'm not sure what it could be they do. The name makes it sound like they perform crimes, but the description of Mizaistom makes it sound like he wouldn't commit crime for his own benefit.
I guess that Morel being a Sea Hunter explains the name of his Hatsu (Smoke on the Water) besides it being a Deep Purple reference.
If I were a Hunter I don't think I'd specialise in one type (at least not at first), but try out various types of hunts; beast hunts, blacklist hunts, sea hunts... If any one type piqued my interest, I'd then consider going into that permanently.
"Lazy hunter" : minimum work with no risk in order to earn as much as possible.
And I would be a Story Hunter. I would travel around the world hearing and reading stories from everyone, collecting old books and dark myths and trying to always finds those people who will make a good story.
In my death I would make a library with all that. :O
Here's a new type I thought of: a View Hunter. Someone who travels the world looking for the most impressive views possible, or seeing sights that one would otherwise never see.
EDIT: Holy crap, just realised! Morel being a Sea Hunter makes even more sense now that I think - since he has the largest lung capacity in the world, it would make it a lot easier to find things underwater!
Nice thread! =D
There was a time when I was trying to find new types of hunters too, here's a little list of what I found:
- Plants hunter: Always looking for new plants.
- Paleo hunter: Looking for remains of ancient life forms.
- Culture hunter: Exploring the world to find new cultures (for example the unicorn tribe, mentioned in York Shin arc, somebody had brought a skull of a member of the clan)
- Linguist hunter: Searches for ancient languages and tries to decipher them.
- Spy hunter: Involved in political as in industrial espionnage.
- Cave hunter: In search of maiden caves.
- Perfume hunter: Looks for all kinds of perfume.
- (input specific collection item, ex: masks, manuscripts) hunter: A collector in short.
- S.S. hunter: Whatever the field, they're only looking for extreme challenges! (S.S. difficulty level)
As for me I'd say the same as Tame, first I'd love to try different stuff first, even if I'm a bit more drawn to relic hunting!
party hunter : travels the world to experience all kinds of entertainment
But it's a good one, I would probably be one of these as well since every view has an story behind it (I remember Greed Island card after defeating Razor)
anything related to archeology/culture/paleontology/human origins
i'm a nerd like that
I would be a Lame Jokes Hunter, snooping around every little inch of planet Earth to find/think of the lamest joke, being able to materialize these jokes into powerful-looking yet still lame creatures, as powerful-looking and lame as the joke would be. I would then create a sentai show with them to lame the world thus increasing it's overall level of lame jokes and reach more lame summits, a lame perpetual motion that I would hopefully be able to embed into an electronic device to lamely entertain everyone.
Hmm... I think that I would be a Myth Hunter: trying to find any leads/proofs regarding Myths in order to find out, if there is some truth to it or not and then declare it to the world.
But Party Hunter doesn't sound bad either. xD
Love Hunter, I'd travel around the world searching for the perfect girl...
and a hatsu for that: White Knight - magical armor that activates only if a girl in a radius of 30m from you is in danger
But srsly I would go for Story Hunter but in addition to books and myths i would also collect items with history, like the stuff that Gon and Killua found in York Shin.
I would be an Ero-hunter. Ero-hunters collect rare pornography magazines/videos, archaic sexual paraphernalias and aphrodisiacs, and visit underground brothels/whorehouses.
Well, I don't think any of the hunter careers so far particularly appeal to me enough for me to consider dedicating my life to it. Just getting the title would be something I would be against considering hundreds of people die every year and no one in the world gives a rats ass at those murders (lets face it, a test that kills people is murder). If I did became a hunter I would likely just sell the license. The types of hunters so far that appeal to me the most are ruin hunters and perhaps gourmet hunter which would perhaps appeal to whatever hedonism I have.
As for the question, I would love to hear more about Ox and what a crime hunter is. Other than that, I think I would be a language/relic hunter, going after ancient civilizations and preserving their culture and language.
I assume that BlackList Hunter is to take down some known criminals, but Crime Hunter is solving the crime per se. Kinda the same difference between a policeman and a detective.
