Hoshino's artwork for Valvrave
I hope that the incoming volume 24 of DGM will get such a nice art for its cover
I'll take that cover as an unofficial confirm about Hoshino has switch to digital art (it is almost impossible to get the shading as shaft as the cover got if you do it in traditional way)
I've long wondered this before but I'm quite certain now.
BTW has someone already posted these sketches http://blog-imgs-51.fc2.com/y/a/r/ya...7221939734.jpg. You can see from the style that its Hoshino's drawings especially when you look at the hands and ears

I can tell the Miracle Jump's cover is done in digital too (at least for the red shading).
I don't really mind if Hoshino completly changes to digital. There are a lot of mangakas doing that nowadays. Moreover, though it can be difficult to control the lines at begining, it can save a lot of time and energy, especially for the color pages.
Yeah I guess you raise a pretty good point especially when we're talking about her health. Perhaps her assistants could take over that area if it were digital also. That is unless Hoshino doesn't want them to touch her work LOL because of fair that they'll screw it up. Artists can be like that sometimes. I'm really not that convinced by their (her assistants) graphic work in the chapters, which is assuming that they are the ones responsible for that right? But i'm really happy to see some improvement approaching chapter 218.
I really love the current style of her DGM artwork. Some people have had some trouble reading action scenes (?) but I don't think it's been too bad. I've seen way worse, anyway. I hope doing it digital will keep that standard. I wonder if part of the hiatus is to allow her to get the learning curve down for using that format? Just a bit of speculation there. ^_^
But yeah, I'm really hoping digital can maintain a standard in terms of the graphics. Really comfortable with the most recent drawing though but with Hoshino's health I really have to wonder what her plans are going to be when she returns.
does anyone else feel like lenalee is the best female character in all of shounen manga?
when i think about it, i cannot find another female character i like more, she is both strong and beautiful, and she is willing to risk her life
i fell in lovw with her after she beat the level three akuma on that ship
but i always liked her before that also
i am hoping to see more of her in the future once the manga starts back up
I prefer Road.
She's funny, she's cruel, she's crazy and she stuck a candle at the main character's eyes.
Then she fell in love with her victim.
She's just too awesome.
And yeah Road for life! Her first arc was great! Loved her ever since.
LOL that's pretty hardcore about Road. Although I love her now (I think ever since she the Ark arc?), I found her creepy in her first arc and when she tortured poor General Yeager. I was "impressed" by her shoving the candle in Allen's eye though. That told me she wouldn't be some ordinary villain.
Lena is awesome sauce for sure. Only thing for me is that she, like Lavi, needs a serious background arc for her development, like Kanda got and like Allen is sort of having now.
I don't know if there's much in store for Lenalee. I remember that she had all the "being alone" thing going, but that was handled in the level three akuma arc. Don't know if she'll get more background without an asspull.
I've feared for some time now that the ship may have sailed for her already. But you never know. If she gets a major role in upcoming plotting, it wouldn't be an asspull.
