Re: Naruto is better than One Piece. Period.

I like the emphasis there, Evil.

The truth is that a lot of stuff is better than OP, as well as being better than the other two members of the Big 3 as well.

I personally despise everything that OP stands for, but that's a different story.

Well, I took some German in college and then spent a semester learning German in Germany. I can get around, but I'm not that fluent. A lot of times, I mix up where to place my words or I'll say what I'm trying to say in a non-German way.

I have trouble with some of the cases at times and then there are things like "tekamolo" that you just have to remember.

How easy/hard did you find learning the language?

It was harder than learning Spanish, that's for sure. All of that case stuff gets difficult. Plus, unlike English, there is often only one way to say something and place the words.

I've heard that German is one of the hardest languages to learn. I guess that's true

For sure it's easier, it's one of the latin based languages, which means it's easier to understand for french, english, italian speakers etc. German wasn't really popular in our schools here, I know for mine especially, it was removed from the curriculum after a few years due the low level of students applying to learn it.

One of the hardest, but there seems to be a lot tougher languages for westerners to learn than German.

Gaelic? not anywhere that I'd seen no. I think it all depends on what your first acquired language is, but most of the lists I've seen have arabic, japenese, chinese(mostly listed simply as mandarin), hungarian, finnish, etc.

Yeah, it most likely depends on what you learned first. I've heard that if you know Spanish, it's easy for you to learn Portuguese since they're similar.

By that, then I think the same would apply to italian too...to some extent.

    Yes, Gary's correct here.

    ______________

Finnish is supposed to be the hardest language for a foreigner to learn.

I think for an English speaker it's definitely Mandarin...throwing in a whole new writing system as well.
