The only two that remain are Kurando and Ueda. Depending on what Ueda chooses to do, I think Kurando may actually end up surviving this whole thing and going on to keep the Yoshioka name alive. Ueda's too far. I think he's going to take on Musashi and be the last of the Yoshioka to die in the battle of the seventy.

No surprise plot device here. Ueda and Kurando have been shown talking and stuff for a few chapters already, not to mention Ueda's the current head of the Yoshioka while Kurando is one of the Ten Swords.

Ueda seems about to strike Musashi in the back. Say I thought that we would have a real duel. Ueda is a skilled swordsman, probably stronger than Denshichiro (though weaker than Seijuro), given Musashi's fatigue he could have matched him fairly.
This guy is a pity.

Looking forward to the translation though.

thats kind of weird right when i started reading i thought: i would just lay down and pretend to be dead and then ambush him. and then that exactly what thos guys did. and what about that guy with the goatee i didn't see him get killed and he was like one of the top instructors. oh well doesn't matter he'll probably end up like the rest of the yoshioka school

You mean Yoichibe ? He had his neck hand broken by Musashi 3 or 4 chapters ago, after he tried to hold him down on the floor.

What are the odds for Kurando surviving this battle, btw. ?

no i don't think thats the same person. this guys pops in and out of the crowds attacking musashi. i believe before Denshichiro's duel he charged at musashi and got hit in the face with a rock or something and was told to stand down.

It's definitely the same person. He got hurt by a rock in his eye the day before the fight against the 70 of the Yoshioka, he had just turned mad at the sight of Musashi, because of Den's death.
He died because his pupils didn't dare striking Musashi though his (Yoichi's) body while it was still time. Musashi broke his neck and threw his corpse at some of the remaining fighters.

Damn serializations and their cliffhangers.

Watching Musashi walk through the field full of corpses astonishes me. You knew he killed boatloads of people, but actually viewing the aftermath of the damage makes your stomach sink.

I'm still waiting to see what happens in the next coming saga.
