So, time to make my own thread.
I'm from France, and speak French (of course) and English fluently. Since I'm familiar with Naruto (been reading it almost from the start now), that's what my translations will be of. Since I haven't read much (if at all) of Bleach/OP/etc... it's fairly unlikely I'll venture there.
If you need things translated from/to French to/from English, just ask. I mean, realistic things, don't expect me to translate your homework This thread is also a good place to ask questions or leve comments.
Traducteurs français en force ! Ça fait toujours plaisir de voir un compatriote se joindre à la bande de traducteurs d'MH But I'll continue in english or else I'll be yelled at >.>
Quick questions for ya :
1) Where do you live in France ?
2) Do you plan to try to learn other languages, like Japanese ?
3) Did you know that all the greatest Frenchies are reading Eyeshield21 ?
Bonne chance pour la suite, si t'as besoin d'un renseignement, hésite pas à m'envoyer un PM
1) South of Paris
2) I took one year of Japanese at Inalco, but I didn't have time to go further. The year I did that, I only had half my normal cursus to do, so I didn't want to do nothing for half the week, and chose to see how a real Oriental languages school would be like. It's quite something, in fact, having to take classes standing in the hall due to the room being full (all seats taken, all ground space occupied).
3) Didn't know.
Oh.. once my uncle offered me to visit him in Champs-Elysees (he lived nearby there). I know it is a famous place, but I always want to hear about it from a French. What is your view of that place?
Well, I guess I missed my chance since he doesn't lives in France anymore :/
And keep up the good effort on translating
Salut =D Bienvenue à MH~! (that's about all the french I remember from school. And it's probably wrong. Im no good at French, Ask Xophien. XD I've been known to insult Khal by calling him "un petit ordinateur")
Let's see, questions...
What're your favorite scents? colors? foods?
Do you enjoy going to the movie theatre?
What kind of computer and OS do you use?
Hi there, WiredLain.
I'm from The Netherlands and a big fan of Franco-Belgian comics, (AKA Bandes Dessinées) such as Spirou, Tintin, Gaston Lagaffe, Lucky Luke, etc.
About a year and a half ago I started scanlating a French series called Violine into English, because a lot of people on English speaking imageboards were interested in the title.
The series is about a little girl with the ability to read minds who sets out on an adventure in Africa in search of her long lost father.
It's 5 albums long, and I've released the first 2 of them in English so far.
Up until now it's been a solo project. I had to do everything by myself. It was so much work that I practically gave up on it about a year ago.
Recently though, a lot of people have been asking me if the last 3 issues are ever going to be translated into English, so I've been thinking of starting the project up again.
Which brings me to the point of this post. Since doing everything by myself would just be too much work, I'm currently looking for people to help me out. In particular French to English translators.
In the past I've done the translating myself, but my knowledge of the French language is very limited, and even using my Dutch issues as a backup reference it took forever to translate 1 album.
I was hoping that you might consider helping me out on this project.
I know it isn't manga, but it's a serious project and a lot of people would like to see this series finished.
I'll expect you might want to know a little more about the Violine series, so I'm just going to link you to the full comics so you can have a look for yourself.
These are all 5 albums in French:
And these are the first 2 issues scanlated into English by yours truly:
(If you don't know how to open .cbr files, they're just .rar files with the file extension changed so they'll work with comic book reader software. You can just open them in WinRAR.)
I hope you're interested in helping me out with this. Please let me know. You can contact me through PM, or you can email me at jpanda at gmail dot com. I'll also be keeping an eye on this thread.
