Yo. No commentary last week due to busy college stuff. And the chapter came out too late for me to muster up the will to do one.

And no Shippuden this week?! No fair.

Oh well. On to the chapter!

And a very interesting one at that...

Naruto 345: Ritual

First of all. The cover.

Hmm.

Is it just me, or is that very very creepy? The tongue and the...ew.

Big set-up for what's happening here.

We end the flashback of Orochimaru's childhood with him holding the molting snake skin...and we return to the present with Orochimaru eviscerated. Sasuke is surprised at how easy it was!

But apparently, the blood of the white snakes is laced with paralyzing poision. And Sasuke is frozen! Sorry Uchiha, but Oro's right...you ARE an arrogant whelp. Orochimaru wouldn't go down so easily.

And what's this? We see the actual soul-transfer jutsu in action?

Ooh...slimy.

The previous bodies of Orochimaru! I see less than ten...

Oh man, reading this suddenly made me think that it IS possible that Orochimaru could claim Sasuke. You know, that would REALLY suck. It would mean that all of Naruto's efforts have gone down the drain. Ooh...that would suck.

Gah, I feel depressed now-ooh, Itachi!

We see Oro as an Akatsuki member! I sense a coloring in the future...

And apparently, he got owned by Itachi. Severely. The eyes of Itachi seduced him...and those same eyes he sees now in Sasuke before he ends the ritual...

Hi Kabuto! The mad scientist.

All sorts of icky things in his lab...and what did Sasuke say 'yes' to?

And Oro's original hand is out and rotting. A harbinger of what's to come...?

Kabuto sees Sasuke - or is it? - standing amongst the corpse of a giant snake.

Who is he?

And that's the cliffhanger. -.-

The last caption of the scanslation I read - courtesty of des - indicates that only one survived.

Seriously. This is the climax of the turning point...and the beginning of a new saga of the story, in my opinion.

Who wins? And depending on who won, how will Akatsuki react? Or Konoha?

IMO Oro took over is body but there will be a way to kick him out or something like that... good chapter but felt short compared to the last few chapters... but what a cliffhanger! I can't wait to see how this plays out; just hope it isn't too corny or predictable

ThHis chapter was toooooooooooooooooooooo short.
Oh how I long for the days of old, when a chapter would consist of twenty pages. But alas those days are gone, nothing indicating their return in the foreseeable future.
My heart weeps and will find no condolence for my very being yearns for times, not as they are, but how they should be, could be, and used to be.

ok I promise you guys this was a once in a year (maybe) emotional outbreak and should not be taken as the final proof necessary to lock me away for life. I will be the first to admit I do enjoy padded rooms but the straight jacket simply puts me off.

I'm tired. There are five prepubescent/young teens in the house. It's late, and I have work at 8:00 AM.

The chapter was kind of short anyway. More substantial one next week, when I'm more relaxed.
