Arana is doing just fine. Currently... she's working for the government's side in Marvel's Civil War

oh my gosh I just realize that I messed up in my post, the X-men with Xorn and the druggie mutants wasn't New X-men...

Actually, that was New X Men. Vol. 2, then they had a whole change of titiles again, and reintroduced the New Mutants title as New X Men (with the X-kids).

And Xorn was revealed to be Magneto, but In the end, he wasn't Mags either. :p He turned out to be Xorn, who jsut wanted to believe he was Magneto. Mags was with Prof. X in Genosha, repairing it...of sorts.

But really, you gotta read New X Men: Academy :nuts They're pretty awesome! And it's great to see you like Young Avengers. ^^ I like that too.

Anyone else dissapointed by issue 23 of Runaways?

Chase wanting to commit suicide seems out of character and out of the blue... I don't know what to make of it. It's completely contradictory to the last frame of issue 22, and I was hoping Gert had possessed him or something.

I dunno, if he doesn't die now, i suppose Joss Whedon will end up killing him anyway, but I'm dissapointed because he has a lot of potential as a character and unfortunately since volume 1, his skills with technology (inventing technology notwithstanding) the writers havent given him any new chances with gizmos to play with.. like a cool Iron man suit or something ^^

OH. GAWD.

...

http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/newavengers/meet_the_new.html Spoilers for those who haven't seen the news yet. Obviously.

Luke Cage is the New (new) Avengers' leader! :faint Where the hell is Cap going? D: Now, I'm not complaining with Luke being the new leader but. D: I mean, I'm a huge classic Avengers fan, but also a New Avengers fan. Still, I was kinda hoping someone from the old team was leading. D:

Also, there are times I feel Luke's a bit too direct in stuff he does...still not complaining though. I think. Eh....*goes on a mighty rampage* I want my classics back :scry Okay. *breathe* And Spidey's wearing his black costume...Logan's still there. Hrm. He was probably the only person I didn't approve much of being an Avenger. I want him with the X Men...

Also, No more 'Daredevil', and Iron Fist is back...I still think his costume looks funny as hell. :lmao

Ah well.

...

Steve, where the hell are you? D: Then again, though, they're still Avengers. XD I like Spider Woman <3 Best New Avenger for me.

...

Actually, I found something else D:

From what I read in the other forum, people are thinking it's:

That team sucks.

If they wanted to remake the avengers into a cool ANTI TONY STARK unit, they should have included Deadpool (since Cable is now on Rogues team, he needs a team), Hulk (to counter Sentry) or Namor (who has been known to defeat the Hulk), and not 5 characters that fit into the "ninja" category.. they should really try to spread the skills of the team apart more. Ghost rider would have been a nice addition, and given him publicity for the movie. And Thor since I assume he's coming back after Civil War to counter Ares..

If the Iron man = Cap is true, I am happy, I really think it will give Steve an incredible personality boost, which I've always found was his low point. He's like a violent boy scout, which is an oxymoron of oxymorons, but as (the invincible *rollesyes*) Iron man, his entire viewpoint on the universe will change.[br]Posted on: January 20, 2007, 04:13:34 PM_________________________________________________Ok if this poster is any indication of the future http://www.newsarama.com/marvelnew/newavengers/meet/NEWAVN029_lo.jpg

There's alot of New Avengers pic with Pete in his black costume. And, I really believe that it's proof either MJ or Aunt May will really die :s Bendis keeps mentioning that the black suit has something to do with a mourning Peter. :s

(danngit)

As for Echo, I remember they said someone will definitely take over Ronin, and it's not Echo. :s So it's probably...a new character? Or *shrug*...MJ 'dies' and she takes over the Ronin suit. :rofl

Why couldn't Impulse, who was now the smartest member of the team, faster than the Flash and powerful enough to kill Superboy Prime get her as a girlfriend, and lead the team for once?[br]Posted on: January 22, 2007, 09:00:08 PM_________________________________________________Loved the new Wolverine. I really enjoyed the commentary on Ult Hulk vs Wolverine ^^

Unfortunately, their promise of "only one of them will make it out of this fight" is false.. I'm fairly certain one will just die and come back by healing factor. I mean Wolverine came back from a nuke more or less.. and his healing ability is supposed to be weak because of the Admantium poisoning yet he still regenerated from a single cell.

I hope they dont step over anybody's toes by making some kind of Lupine vs Feline war that resembles Underworld (the movie) to explain Sabretooth and Wolverine's hatred for each other..
And that they don't make him as old as Cro-magnum man even though origin said he's only 100'ish.. -_-

That's the current Teen Titans series. But I was a bit surprised when Bart came back from the Speed Force wearing Barry's suit. I think the reason why Bart dont have Wonder Girl as his girlfriend is because he's currently coming to terms with his new powers.

W/e he downloaded a damn library, he controls the speedforce, and he beat a superman; at the very least he should get a chance to lead them. I'm tired of the 7th Robin boy wonder being the leader!

I can't believe I'm the only one who feels this way. Nightwing is cool and all, and he has an awesome series, but all these Robin's are starting to annoy me.

Now that our spolier discussion has become a discussion about which teen titan is the best to lead I feel that its ok to get out of spoilers but if I'm wrong someone add for me ^^;

Impulse has always shown fear way to often and Robin's have always had the fearless quality to lead. Though perosnally I can't remember any Robin besides the original Dick (who's now Nightwing) and Jason who came back in the coolest way as Red Hood

If anyone I'd think that one of the mainstays should lead, such as Beastboy or Cyborg but now I'm messing up my continuity... >,<

I actually pefered Red as the teen titans leader since he would actually put kids in there places xD

Anyway, just read Illuminati 2
Awesome issue, I sooo hope somehow the Hulk smashes all six of them and uses the crystals to become Maestro or something XD

And wtf was up with Xavier in that last frame??? What is this the O.C.?? What's with all the teen drama.
-"Im glad you werent taken in by the gloves power"
-"heheh.. yea *tear*"
-"... Dude.. I know you're lying. Like you're tottally off my buddy list, we're not BFF's forever anymore."

Silent war 2
AWESOME, I love that Quicksilver is now one with the non-government mist. I need to find old Inhumans issues!!! Can someone help me find them?

Also the little girl is awesome, but I feel so bad that no one likes her.

However, one HUGE downpoint was Sentry.. I mean GTFO you create a god-damn superman character for the mere purpose of f$TW@#$%@ replacing EVERY damn superhero in Marvel in order to stand up to Blackbolt??? F#@%# Send Thor (oh right, you let him die and cloned him.. I don't think he'll go), send Namor (Oh right... despite being a WWII hero for your side, you alienated him during Civil War..), send She-Hulk/Ms Marvel (she can absorb waves.. maybe)/Dr Strange/ANYONE I mean... wtf?

This Sentry business is starting to drag. I was fine with him being a side-character, because YES granted he's not a terrible character, and he has decent potential for a team-setup. BUT DON'T F$^$@ move him into the center of the attention. If he becomes a main Marvel character, wtf do we need:
Captain America, Iron Man, Wolverine, Spiderman, THOR, Hulk, Hercules, for anymore? He's superfast, may as well let him take care of all of NY, Superman does it for the whole world, you're telling me Sentry can't?
I mean the doublestandard they're trying to pull is just depressing, they want him to be a main character, but they dont want to get rid of the classic heroes. You can't have both![/rant]

Avengers Illuminati is getting exciting. A very interesting read. I guess the teen drama is being rushed so it might seem... O.C. like to some. But what ever, I'm hooked.

So any predictions for how they are going to revive Thor? He's sort of a essential character and being a God I doubt he can really just... die. Hopefully he'll come back in a non cheesy manner like alternate universe.

My favorite Runaway's moment.
When Molly knocks Wolverine out of the church when he tries to scare her. "128 mutants left on the earth and she had to be one of them." To Cap, "I wont talk about this everyagain if you don't talk about it." Priceless xDDD

I think the Runaways should need some "Superheroes and Vigilantes Lessons" and learning to control their power before they can step up their game. Like a summer school at Xavier's. Maybe Molly can study under Colossus or something. :D

Yeah, Molly's one of the coolest characters in there. My most favourite would be Victor when he first started out with them. He was mostly the voice of reason behind the team (even if they never listenened).

There's something annoying about the Runaways, and that is the fact that they seem to hate about every adult they see. Victor was frist a big fan of superheroes, so it's fun to see him fanboy over them. But I don't see much of that now :( Molly's still fun, coz she's still innocent from them all.

Which makes me wonder.

Why didn't Chase figure she was the most innocent? Even if he wouldn't kill anyone, I doubt Molly would too. Then again, I'd rather Chase dying than Molly.

Heck, I'm glad they got rid of his girlfriend, too. They could've made her more likeable, instead of whiny someone...

I just think that he doesn't have the guts to actually kill somebody so he rather commit suicide. Sad how at age 18 he just went evil. As if to solidify that runaway's belief that all adults are irresponsible. I hope after this arc he somehow loses his memory or just finds peace and leaves the whole super hero thing behind. He has no powers and he's probably better off just trying to become an upstanding citizen.

Batman never have the Green Lantern Ring. A Green Lantern ring is bestowed upon an individual who can overcome great fear and Hal Jordan is the best man for it. In Green Lantern #17....
Batman was selected by the Sinestro Corps. Sinestro is a former member of the Green Lantern Corps. But he abused his power to enslaved his home planet. Long after his Green Lantern ring was removed, Sinestro made his own Corps. The member consists of individual from various sector of the universe who have the ability to instill great fear, in a simpler word. Sinestro Corps members are people (or alien lifeform) who can scare the living daylights out of you. And you must've know how scary Batman is.

That was the worst black panther issue ever..
making light of issue 7, adding unnecessary comedy, creating scenes that never happened in civil war to tie in Ororo into the fight..

Fuck Joe Q O_O

...

Okay. All seriousness now. *takes a deep breathe*

It does make for a good storyline. I think Fallen Son will be very good. But...Iron Man for Acceptance? Now that's crap. He's probably the last person to deserve to be in that issue. I'm pissed!

I know Marvel will bring Cap back...but. I really hate waiting. Whatthe fuck is Avengers without Cap? T_T I'm not old enough to be one of those people who's read Avengers without Cap. So no.

Right now, I'm already tired of waiting for Jean to come back, but I thank God that I like all the current X titles. I can prbably say the same for New Avengers, but still. I CANNOT imagine them without CAP T_T

What the hell?! Is Marvel seriously trying to piss us off? Even if they say that Earth-616 was satisfied with who won the fight, in real life, it isn't! As in, we readers! UGH. Oly a handful of people didn't mind the end of Civil War.

And now they try to anger us again by killing of Steve Rogers.

And...

Initiative. They mentioned Captain America is alive and is being kept in the Raft. Yet all the interviews of the writers I've seen states Steve Rogers is dead. Holy Frick, what the firck!

Actually, if it was Winter Soldier as Cap, I wouldn't mind as hell. But why in the world is Iron Man holding Cap's shield in the last issue of Fallen Son >.> Oh please, no.

Okay. I ranted instead. Yay. Never mind.

Mighty Avengers.

Iron Man = naked woman. Who is, in fact, a female Ultron.

Holy Jeebuz. Is all I can say.

Oly a handful of people didn't mind the end of Civil War.I've already said this before, but I don't think I've said it on MH. I'm also not going to use a spoiler, since I'm pretty sure all the members who frequent American Comics already know what happened. And since Cap's death was all over local news stations throughout the country, it's impossible not to know. =P

But the ending of Civil War is not only appropriate, but necessary. I'm not talking about Cap dying, but that the Pro-Registration side winning. Cap dying is a totally different subject, which I'll get into later. But back to my argument.

I used this very simple argument with a friend of mine on why the SHRA should pass. Would you want masked vigilantes running around the streets with super powers? Would you want these people to have the power to blow up buildings, cars, and streets and get away without paying any sort of punitive damages? Would you want these people to be untrained, unprofessional, and uncontrolled by any sort of rules at all?

The police is a perfect example of this. You give a man a gun and training on how to subdue and even kill people. But we know that the cops know these rather intimidating abilities to protect us. The same could be said for supes (except for those who did not gain their abilities for that purpose like Hulk or Spiderman). However, and this is the key point, the police are responsible for their own actions. Anyone remember Rodney King? I do, especially since it affected my family friends. They had a clothing store during the LA riots that was completely destroyed. I know it wasn't because of the cops themselves, but the direct result of cops beating Rodney King ended up with a family friend, someone who is practically a grandfather to me, having his only store destroyed so readily.

Who's going to pay for that? Certainly nobody paid my family friend, except for typical insurance money (which wasn't much). Someone has to be held up responsible, and those cops were. It's the same case as with superheroes.

And then there's the whole thing with, this is a violation of the constitutional rights. First off, nobody is going to know identities of anyone unless Iron Man gives out the information, the superhero willingly gives up his information, or some very techno savvy supervillain takes the information from Iron Man's personal files. Second, if the SHRA is a violation of constitutional rights, so are driver's licenses, medical degrees, and drinking age limit (things that we take for granted, btw). It's just not bloody safe for someone without a driver's license to be driving. Sure, the driver can be the most careful one in the world, but nobody in his right mind would get in the car with someone without a license (unless you're a teenager going for a joyride. And those always end well, right?).

Anyway, I think I've made my point. Onto Cap's death.

It sucked, yes. But honestly, who really cares? I know I don't (especially since my favorite version of Cap, Ultimate Captain America, is still alive). Captain America was more popular in the Golden Age when he was hardcore and actually killed people in WW2. Hell, Bucky killed people in WW2. But the Captain America of the modern-age is, imo, a watered down version of who he really was. Sure his death sucked, but nobody really even could call Cap a favorite character except for hardcore comic fans, and I mean hardcore. You ask the average person on the street who his favorite Marvel hero is, and the answer will most likely be either Wolverine or Spiderman. Captain America is important only in the sense that he "represented" America. But in a comic world that is becoming more and more global, I think this guy would be a better representative of all of us.

Well... I kinda think that we are getting ahead of ourselves for thinking Cap is dead forever. I mean for crying out loud his sidekick Bucky was dead and he's alive and kicking as Nick's messenger boy. If there was ever a sign of a character dying and then coming back bigger then that then I don't know.

Onto's Menobaka's response about how Captain America doesn't mean anything to any fans. Well... does Iron Man mean anything? If anything Iron Man's boosted role is directly due to his movie.

MOVIES, oh my gosh think about it. Its the movies fault that Iron Man won and that Spiderman is wearing black. Hmm wasn't reported that a Captain America movie is planned in the future. What a convenient time for a revival if he's dead.

And anyways if Cap is dead I hope that Bucky takes his place for a bit blazing guns.

Dragonzair

^I wouldn't mind Bucky taking his reins. :D

Menobaka: Actually, yeah it was nescessary. I'm not omplaining about that. I'm mostly complaining in the fangirl side from me, really. XD

Everything you say is true, in this world, I don't think people would really like it if masked people are the ones fighitng villains who are also masked.

But if you're as...much of a fangirl like I am, I'm sure you'll understand how I feel about things. XD Like when Asuma died, it really made me stop readingNaruto, for he was the only reason I continued Part 2. But that's another topic ><

What I like msot about comics is that it takes me away from seeing problems the real world is facing. And now, unconciously, it seems like it's entering the Marvel universe as well. I don't mind realism every now and then, but to me, too much is nt really a good thing.

Although, I think Cap dying will make great stories for later. I cn't help it though if I've taken it so badly XD I really liked it when he took a stand against Tony Stark, so seeing that really made me feel bad the wholde day >.> Plus, you really can't say that nobody else cares if Cap died. XD It's probably 50/50 thing. XD

That cast aside, I can't wait for Fallen Son to come out. I like the idea of using the Five Stages of Death as the storylines for the books.

I still think choosing Iron Man as the Acceptance issue is too ironic >.>

And...LOL! Captain Planet would certainly be the most needed superhero, one that almost everyone would probably accept. Ironic, since the cartoon itself created controversy when it came out. XD[br]Posted on: March 08, 2007, 02:45:06 PM

They're planning one for a release in 2009, I think o.O Would be perfect for Cap to make a comback. If he is dead.

I mean, Ms. Marvel did tell Jessica Jones that he was alive...but from Stark's response, it may have been that she was lying >.>[br]Posted on: March 08, 2007, 02:47:37 PM_________________________________________________Ahah. I eat my words.

Well it seems that in order to understand anything in Marvel you have to read everything in order...

I suggest reading Initiative first before touching anything else that might include any Avengers. Afterwards go into Mighty Avengers followed by the New Avengers. I know that Bendis is pretty much directing all three titles but they really should keep the titles more seperate.

Take Mighty Avengers cliff hanger. Iron Man became some female Ultron. It specifically said that it was there first mission together as a team. Now in New Avengers it shows Iron Man and his Might Avengers waiting to ambush the New Avengers. So obviously Iron Man's little metamorphis isn't a big deal and I think that takes away some of the experience.

The x-men's roles in Tony Stark's new world is shady...
In X-men, Mastermind says something along the lines of "we don't care about that stuff"
Xavier is still in the shinra empire, and I don't even know if he knows about Civil War (he will know about Hulk really soon though).
And Emma/Cyclops seem to be playing both sides at the moment. Don't really know what to make of their roles.

But Beast is a whore, he prides himself in having been part of the most "teams" in MU, so I'm sure he's a trainer just to add to his resume.

I really didn't think Stark still had one night stands with anyone o.O Or Jen. o.O JEEZ. It just looked...so wrong and out of place. o.O

Stark hasn't had any love interest in a while now, and seeing that was just sick. o.O Same goes for She Hulk, the woman who is supposedly still married to someone else. I know they've been having troubles with their relationship, and that She-Hulk is actually flirting with Clay Quartermain.

And now she goes and sleeps with Stark.

And a fight breaks up with them fighting in their undies. Ugh. I thought it was amusing when she slept with Juggernaut and they did the same undies bit, but this is just blah.

Okay. I've ranted too much. XD

Thats not fair to write it all of... I would just make sure to read more about the male Hulk and keep away for the She. Moon Knight is certainly interesting to me, his character is a mix of Batman and Punisher. He has the mindset of the Punshier but the moral dilema of the Bat so he's interesting to say the least. Though current dirty desires comics are Antman and Cable/Deadpool because they know how to not take things too seriously.

Yeah, Ken-chan! We were only complaining about She-Hulk! XD Don't bother reading Jen's book and stick with the good ones. We never said anything againsdt the others :p

WWH is coming soon, and even if I'm not a fan of Hulk, I'm still excited about it. Other stuff that I rec you:

Runaways: Whedon's run started off confusing, but still great. You might want to read the first two volumes before the latest ones, though.

New Avengers: Get to it! Leinil Yu's art makes it an even better read! Plus, team banter! YAH. And c'mon! ECHO! ECHO! ECHO!

Mighty Avengers: Currently only two issues, and not much explained. But hey, still quite new, and you oughtta give it a chance. Plus, who couldn't resist hilarious though balloons delivered by the sarcastic Bendis!! I love 'em! Never stops me from cracking up.

New X Men: The younger roster of the X-team is BRILLIANT. 'Nuff said.

Avengers: The Initiative : Dude. Just read the first issue and get hooked. :p

Irredemable (sp?) Antman: He's hilarious. Like a new Spidey and Deadpool. Certainly beats the idiotic Hank Pym.

Cable and Deadpool: Deadpool's enough reason to read it, really.

Exiles: You're lucky if you're going to start reading this, as the current arc just started a couple of months ago. Plus, Claremont's taking good care of Psylocke, too. :D

X Factor: Jamie's crew is definitely different from the current X-titles teams. Their group is in Mutant Town taking care of the ex-mutants after M-Day, plus gives a lot more insights about the results of HoM and Decimation, nd much more to that.

X Men First Class: About the original X MEn roster :p Awesome art, and covers, and fun sotrylines. Nice to see them still as teens and not having the problems the X Men are facing in the current timeline. And other stuff.

Punisher War Journal: Artwork somehow scares me, but the colouring's great. Story's fun too. KEKEKEKKE. Frank's take on Cap.

Thunderbolts: Not the original. This one's spurn out of Civil War, and consists a group of former villains, like, say: Bullseye, Venom, etc. and the poster boy of Civil War, Speedball, who is now called Penance. Of course, being lead by the baddest of 'em all, a (sor of) mentally ill Green Goblin; Norman Osbourne.

Guess what, though? They're there to fight SHRA offenders, which means they're not on the bad side. Or not. :p Must read. xD

Yup, Dani, Magik, Sam Guthrie, and the rest of the original New Mutants when they first arrived on the scene. ;) Though it doesn't have the very first appearance of all these guys (which is in a book similar to Giant Size X-Men), I guess I'll still have to look for that one - I don't have it either.

Anyway, I've read Exiles 89-92, X-Factor 15-16, and Cable & Deadpool 35-38.

Exiles: Definitely liked it. I like the entire idea of superheroes being picked from alternate universes in order to protect the whole omniverse. It also features some Age of Apocalypse characters (Sabretooth and Blink) which I love. I LOVED AoA. I want Sunfire from AoA on this book now! :D It's sort of "Sliders" meets X-Men in a way, isn't it? I'll definitely be looking into downloading older issues now and I'll continue to follow this one - I knew Claremont would take care of Psylocke though, he created her after all! xD He seems to be having fun with this book, which is good. He's a great writer, obviously (since he's probably most directly responsible for the X-Men's popularity) if you give him the right book and you're patient with all the subplots.

X-Factor: It's OK so far. Jamie Madrox is an interesting character, I guess. I did like how ish. 16 ended, showed that he did have some feeling.

Cable & Deadpool: Absolutely freaking hilarious so far. I think I loved this one the most out of all three. And to think I've never even read a single issue with Deadpool in it before, but now I'll have to check out more. He's in X-Men Legends 2, the game I'm playing, though, and he'll be a playable character after I've beaten the game once =D

I don't have much to say about the other titles that wasn't already said, but I need help/clarification for anyone else that has raid Mighty Avengers 2, and the newest X-men (I know it wasn't uploaded but I checked it out today)

Mighty:
How could Tony be dead? This is the second most issue comic I have read this week after X-men, and I honestly have no idea what's going on. Also wtf? Does Ultron have a force shield now or something, or did he/she suddenly get telekinisis? Last time he fought was with Runaways/Loners I BELIEVE, and he didn't have that tech.

X-men:
Ok... WTF I have NO NO ABSOLUTELY NO idea wtf is going on.
Is Cable dead? Is he the character from Rogues team that is going to "die"? And if so wtf? They're going to ruin 2 awesome series? Wtf will happen to Deadpool? It was looking like he'd make a guest appearence on the next X-men issue since he was going to Nathan's island once he found out the alien attacked it. Will that crossover not happen now? And will the be lame and only mention it in C+D?

Ugh.. wtf is that alien anyway, the art is so confusing/blurred/isane it's hard to know what's going on. And How is "magneto coming back" in 2 issues if this arc doesn't end until AT LEAST 199... isn't 200 supposed to be a gigantic crossover?

Again Cable better not be dead, because it'll ruin 2 perfect currently ongoing series.. but w/e... I know a lot of people hate him so I'm sure I'll be the only one pissed that it'll force Deadpool to either have no series or go back to being a solo series (which was fine, but I prefer his personality in CnD)

help?

manu
April 20, 2007, 11:03 PM
Well for Mighty I'm just going to speculate.

Obviously Tony isn't dead. As whats been shown multiple times Tony can control all of his Iron Man costumes outside of the suit at the same time so he probably wasn't even inside of it when it transformed. Secondly the Ultron in Runaways was just one of the many versions. I was confused to how that Ultron was so easily bested from kids and I came to the conclusion that it was just a copy of Ultrons programming who managed to survive on some second rate machines. Now imagine Ultron's programing capablities (I mean Ultron did invent the Vision) combined with Tony's suit. My hope is that Tony gets kicked of the Mighty Avengers team by Ms. Marvel and is replaced by Ultron. If anyone has noticed Ultron hasn't exactly been evil yet.

As for Cable & Deadpool
I am loving the suspense! I guess its going to be revealed sooner or later right?

Also I would like to take this time to pray for the return of Black Adam. Never has there ever been a super-villian/superhero who has countlessly gone toe to toe with the big blue Superman. I hope that his character comes back stronger than ever.

Gold Knight
April 21, 2007, 06:25 AM
I'm sure Black Adam will come back...

...but it IS a cool setback Captain Marvel imposed on him, I wonder what the word was? 52? xD

So far I think 52 has been constantly entertaining, but I do think the last issue could have been better if it had been double-size and had more material in it relating to "World War III." (I know about the "spinoff" solo books, but I think it would have been best if they had kept it all in one issue.)

Lohnt
April 21, 2007, 11:49 AM
Is black Adam stronger than Captain Marvel? I mean he took on Power Girl and various other Superheroes I've seen hand Superman his cape and yet he took them all on at once...

Did he recently get an upgrade or is he just lucky they all attacked at once instead of one at a time so they could be more organized till they tired him out.

Dragonzair

Mighty Avengers:
Tony's definitely not dead as other titles prove that. But I have a feeling he is not going to be with the team anymore, and I think that's what Joe Q meant when he said that the team roster (in the previews/cover we've seen; before MA came out) isn't the correct one.

The Initiative issue showed the Mighty Avengers battling without Tony (when they got saved by that electric girl-thingy). Proof that he just wasn't in the back ground at that time, was during the bus trip. That exact same girl was talking to her friend on her phone and mentioned about getting to see Tony and asking for an autograph, so I doubt she saw him then.

That's fine with me. XD But I'll miss the weird thought balloons he does, I guess. He doesn't seem to be thinking much in his own title. >_>

X Men: I absolutely have no frikkin' idea anymore. I'm jsut reading it because it's got X-villains, and it cracks me up. To be honest though, if it weren't for Sabretooth or Mystique, I probably wouldn't be reading this.

But I'm also excited about issue #200. Did they say that would be the base for Endangered Speicies? I'm waiting for that.

Ultimate X Men:
Dude, Hank not being dead is alright, but the way they explained was kinda lame. AND LEGACY VIRUS!. Dude.

Shadow King is what I'm waiting for, though. :D

And Ken-chan, glad to see you liking Exiles. I forgot to mention the reason I started reading it (minus the fact that Psylocke was going to appear there) was because of AoA Sabretooth and Blink <3

Yeah, that was a little amazing how Black Adam seemed to hold his own just fine against the entire DC universe minus Superman, Batman, Flash, and Wonder Woman.

I'm thinking that Captain Marvel and Black Adam are both possibly the most powerful superheroes in the DC universe right now, but I'm not sure at all. The strength of certain DC characters seem to go up and down depending on wthe writer. But I do think that Captain Marvel hasn't even met his potential yet - far from it. Black Adam on the other hand, has lived much longer.

Btw for DZ: I found the New Mutants Graphic Novel that first introduced Dani, Sam, and the original New Mutants:

http://rapidshare.com/files/27181821/Marvel_Graphic_Novel_4_-_New_Mutants.zip.html

Keep in mind that New Mutants had a lot of crossovers with Uncanny X-Men and X-Factor early on. New Mutants 1-3 actually started off as part of a X-Men storyarc called "The Brood."

Personally I'm still enjoying X-men, and I still feel this is the best team since "first class" however, perhaps because I haven't been following x-men since the 70's/for years I lack the knowledge of all these villains they keep facing that really get little explanation and make me very confused.

On the other hand, when they faced the Vault, the new villains and I knew what was going on, I freaking LOVED the storyline because I actually knew what was going on.

Yea 200 is supposed to start the endangered species, Magneto is going to return, and one of Rogue's team will die supposedly..
Sabretooth is a badass btw XD

April 21, 2007, 01:04 PM
Yeah, you almost have to take a history lesson in X-Men to know what's going on in some of these books sometimes. It's one of the biggest chronological challenges I've ever seen in comics too - they had so many spin off titles and crossovers with other books!

But I just found out the other day that there are torrents out there that archive the X-Men chronologically (here. (http://trackern.zcultfm.com:6969/index.html?search=X-Men)) so you may want to look into it if you really are interested in learning more. If not then I recommend wikipedia - they do cover a lot of X-Men stuff too. ^^

I think black adam's secret word is going to be "Forgive" because thats the last thing he'll do. Hopefully by they he becomes a good guy again.

Is it me or does DC universe have a whole lot of bad guys just waiting to make a comeback stronger than ever. First there is the Joker, the Superboy Prime, now Black Adam if he stays evil... Just saying they are practically setting themselves up for something nasty.

I got interested because of the Annihilation series, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it now.. he reminds me of DC, but in Marvel "magical" storytelling. Plus he's going to fight director Ironman =D

I'm just afraid he's a bit overpowered, but hey, a lot of the current Marvel heroes are..

I've meant to download Nova 1 for a while now, I'll do that now. The cover is great if nothing else.

EDIT: Read it, and the art's great. The story reminds me a bit of Quasar (old Marvel comic) except a lot more fast-paced and probably better. I'm on board for that one too ;)

And man, I just have to say, Iron Man - I LOVE his armor right now. This is probably the one I'd like to see him keep for good. (I've always thought they could improve on it but this is probably the best I've seen it.)

I'm also enjoying Nova. Compared to Civil War, even with the action and all that, I still prefer Anihillation storyline. I was really hoping the Anihillation Wave would hit Planet Saakar, so that Mean Green can take care of what Anihillus started without any help. :XD

Somehow, in some absurd logical way I sincerely hope all these short series guys force the Mighty avengers (minus Ares and maybe Sentry) to retire and take over.

The upcoming short series guys are:
Nova (already started)
Namor
Thor
Ghost Rider (sorta)

And throw in Bucky for good measure, we need some Winter Soldier goodness to remind people Civil War happened, but with this team that Marvel is finally moving on.
I really would love to hear the banter between Thor and Ares when facing some ridiculously overpowered enemy that is a little goofy...

Well, I have to admit Marvel does seem to be moving into a good story-telling direction. I was very dubious about the whole Civil War concept and I DON'T think it was written all that well, but now I'm kind of seeing how it could evolve into a whole lot of good stories. Hopefully they don't disappoint.

Armory? Yeah... that was pretty downright cruel of them. Especially since it wasn't her fault so much as it was the people who wanted to go ahead and test Trauma's powers without even thinking about the consequences. Pretty sloppy job for a bunch of people who think they're better than the New Warriors.

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php/1230642/Fallen_Son__The_Death_of_Captain_America_02_2007_noads_ArchangelDCP.cbr

One thing we learn here is that both Hawkeye and Patriot are with the New Avengers. So that means that the Young Avengers are broken up. 'Cause I think we say Stature, Billy and Ted (one of the cutest couples in comics ever) aka, Hulkling and Wiccan. And I think Vision went with Stature since he loves her or something. And since Patriot said we (instead of us which is what people use with 2 people) I think Speed stayed with Hawkeye. And you'd think after having so many people die in his life Pete wouldn't be so... emotional.

Plus everything every one is saying they wish they changed would have taken a lot of the bite in Avengers Initiative that we've been hooked on by the first chapter.

Cloud 9's currently my fave amongst the Initiative trainees, along with Trauma. But I do hope MVP returns. He was such a cool character. And you were right. One of you (can't remeber who) predicted that MVP wasn't given any serum at all and was just a perfect body.

Beh. I hate Gyrich. HATEHATEHATE. It's his fault MVP's dead (who I hope will come back somehow), and Armory out of the rank, and a whole lotta other stuff.

Admitedlly, I really feel for Justice, especially when he sees how Gauntlet trains and calls the trainees New Warriors and such. It's the anti-reg person in me speaking. XD

I agree with qwan, Trauma's powers are goddamn scary. And the way they draw him transforming irks the shit out of me so much (in a horrifying way), that I really want to see it on screen. XD

manu: Yeah, I was pretty happy seeing the Young Avengers (even if it's only two of them) in there.

Though I do remember reading that there wouldbe a Volume 2 for YA, involving the return of Iron Lad. So Hawkeye and Patriot won't probably stay with NA. Which shows in the NA title, and the Initiative covers which features all the YA.

I think they're with the Initiative unwillingly, with Cassie being the only one who has no remorse of being there, or something.

And I'm off to read the Anihillation saga, thanks to refii's links. XD I'm not really all that hyped about outer-space stuff in the Marvel U. but I've been hearing a whole lotta good stuff about it, so I'm giving it a shot. :D

Well it was me who predicted the whole MVP being a normal human being since obviously if the doctor took it on himself he would have been buff and not skinny and all. Also if MVP had powers then losing his awards wouldn't be so tough. But if he honestly earned them then of course he would be po'd. Though I still think he could have been a superhero given the right armor and training since Hawkeye's never had powers it just a god-damn shame that his corpse is going to be used. I thinik that he'll either become some kinda robo clone, maybe a mix of him and Clor or they turn him into the next secret ingredient for the Super Soldier experiement.

Also Punisher War Journal is getting exciting.
I think the Punisher just declared himself the next Captain America

And finally WWH is starting with two new comics. I guess it has really started since no one has actually heard the battle cry "Hulk Smash!" but Jen knows and so does Cho.

Though I'm really dissappointed in Reed. I know that World War Hulk is all about the Illuminati vs. Hulk but shouldn't "Mr. Fantastic" be on his honeymoon?

Amazing Spiderman is finally coming around. So far it seems to be all about the art though. I guess Spiderman is trying to cross the line or something. Seems like he wants to kill at least. Not sure if he will, probably wont get the chance but he's going to break a lot of laws.

Yeah, I think Marvel's messed up with their timeline :s Or there is a definite timeline, only that the titles we're reading aren't really sticking to it, and are in different...er...time.

This may be before he tried to fix his marraige. I'm trying to think up of the timeline right now:

Cap dies.

Weeks (or was it a month? Can't rmember) later, Tony is annouced as new Director of SHIELD, while Susan returns home.

Mighty Avengers is formed.

New Avengers fight Might Avengers, then leave for Japan, yadda yadda.

(somewhere along the Mighty Avengers forming and before the events of Iron Man #16, Tony sleeps with She-Hulk *urk ><*) << Definitely before Iron Man #16 because apparently, Tony's in love with Maya Hansen and is sleeping with her? o_O

Jen finds about her cousin, then everything that is currently happeing in She Hulk and Incredile Hulk is taking place.

Sue and Reed try to fix their marraige, T'Challa and Ororo take their place in Fantastic Four.

And so on and so forth.

Really, I'm just guessing >.> I can't figure out whic is the current timing in it >.>

Amazing Spiderman is finally coming around. So far it seems to be all about the art
though. I guess Spiderman is trying to cross the line or something. Seems like he wants to kill at least. Not sure if he will, probably wont get the chance but he's going to break a lot of laws.

Yeah. I mean, stealing a NYDP car, punching a guy and planning on killing him, breaking into a dude's apartment and showing up in public. And no one's even trying to apprehend him. I seemingly believe now, that the public really aren't as against the anti-regs people as the Civil War series made us believe. o.O Or was that just me?

Anywho, I'm still confused as to how Peter's attitude is different in different titles. And One More Day seem to be taking place before the current issues in New Avengers? I'd think that someone close to him would die there, or maybe it occurs after NA. But yeah.

I seriously CANNOT wait for that issue with Pete covering Tony up (armor and all!) in webs! HELL YEAH. And this is webs coming out of him. Oh lovely! <3

And New X Men!

I am pawning for the next issue! Do you think Josh can do something about the mutant gene?

AND DUDE. I am seriously tired of writers going after the younger X Men to look for new X-deaths D: Seriously. Enough! I like them too much, and it's not fair anymore D: D: D:

AND HELL YEAH. I can't wait for NA. That's the issue they're revealing who Ronin is.

I honestly cant believe that I'm about to say this...

READ THIS MONTH'S BLACK PANTHER!!!

Did you look at the spoiler before reading BP, then shame on you. Moving on in the end of the chapter the Fantastic Four get transported to a skrull like world where MARVEL ZOMBIES GALACTUS shows up. The reason i'm so exicted is because this is the first definate crossover between the 616 universe and the Ultimate universe. Well kinda... the Zombie universe is actually spawning off of the Fantastic Fours contact with Zombie Fantastic Four but thats good enough for me =D

Nova is definately an interesting read and same for New X-men. As for NA, Ronin is...
Hawkeye >.>, couldn't they have done a better job?

Countdown as started, the only thing that has me excited about it is the fact that Jason Todd stars in it. For those of you who don't know that name or are wondering how the hell Jason Todd came back from the dead... Read Batman goddamn it! Its a great story and I can't do it justice trying to summarize it. Anyways just know that Jason Todd, aka The Red Hood, was Batman's second Robin who had a mean streak and was brutally murdered with a stick by the Joker. He died in Earth 1 but in another Earth he didn't. Though after his funeral the live Jason Todd of another Earth was switched by the dead Jason thanks to Superman cheating death and messing the fabric of the universe. Being 6 feet under in a coffin he went insane and dug himself out. When he got out and saw that Batman hadn't avenged his death he went on as a mad vigilante in gotham killing the bad guys like the Punisher. Then he forced Batman into a situation of killing Jason to save the Joker or let Jason kill the clown. Of course Jason didn't really die and now he's one of Bats bad guys.

This weeks comic month was good I'd have to say xD

I didn't know SHE was level 10? Black Widow POWAR! But seriously. This dude says that Nick was the only level 10 agent he's heard of. But isn't Daisy Johnson one as well? Geez. Give that teen some credit.

WTF. I know alot of people will say tht random silliness and humour destroy comics, but they do make me laugh. That said, HAHAHAHHA. WTF! Ares with a heart smiley right after Natasha gives orders. WTF. XD

I digress, though.

What is going on with this title? o.O

Its not a continuity error, its a plot device. 'Cuz obviously Tony never dies since he's been shown in Fallen Son. And issue 2 of that proved that Tony and everyone of team Mighty Avengers survive their first crisis. Speaking of Fallen Son, this issue also proves that Hawkeye definately won't be going public for long. He handled Hawkeye just the way I thought and at least we know he definately wont be Captain America. Makes me wonder if Tony wants to be Captain just to handle his grief. I mean he is "acceptance" and we saw a pic of him holding the shield.

Oh and Ultimates 13 came out >,<

Lohnt
May 16, 2007, 08:32 PM
Ultimates 13 was good, not great, def not worth the wait, but I'm still definately buying the volume when it comes out. Because honestly, no matter how much you hate the delays, as a collection it is still an incredible (albeit leftist =@) view of the world told through superheroes that I just love.

Fallen son was... I didn't like it.. I just didn't, I don't really have any justification for it. Then again I don't really like Hawkeye as Ronin either. Now he's just going to be Deadpool without the witty banter, healing powers and awesomeness.. Just you wait, he'll pick up a machine gun sooner or later just as a "joke" (that no one will laugh at) so all the fanboys can be like ZOMG DID YOU SEE A SHARPSHOOTER/SNIPER KILL PEOPLE WITH A GUN? THAT'S INCREDIBLE?!?!?!?!?!

... yea.. incredible, I should make a comic about me using a fork, to eat my steak with.

Hmm, y'know I really doubt that anybody actually reads Captain America. If you don't, can't say I blame you, it was really good. So yes Captain America needs a tribute, but Fallen Son just seems like a mini series that actually has nothing to do about Captain America, its more Avengers showcasing.

*snort* XD

manu: I didn't really read Captain America, either. I read the Civil War issues, but that's it. But it is a good book. I also read the previous issues with Bucky, and the writing's top-notch, so I'm definitely continuing.

Plus, people like Agent Carter and Falcon need definite screen-time. Oh, plus, more Bucky. XD

And you're right, Fallen Son is more like an Avengers showcasing. It doesn't really reflect on Cap, but on what the others were going through following his burial :s Course, maybe that's why I like it ('ive been getting obsessed with Avengers for a while now), but it would still be nice to see stuff on Cap...

I just woke up now, so I hven't read Fallen Son or anything else other than Mighty Avengers. XD So I'll edit this post once I'm done :D

Everyone should read Captain America, it's Ed Brubaker and the art is just awesome!

I didn't really like Ultimates 13. I know we got to see that multiple joint pages, but the story is too much like the ending of a B-movie. Millar could've done better, but i guess he must be busy with another war.

But yay! Morlocks and Storm! I'll bet Mags is leading them. I mean, Calliban's in the X-Cell group, right?

Or maybe some mutants that haven't been on screen in a while.

Yes, finally we'll get to see Bigby and Snow back in action. But who's gonna be minding the cubs? So, Fly's gonna use the armor and pull out excalibur? Awesome. I think he's gonna die, or wherever it is Fables go after they're killed by goblins.

But at least now that Xavier is retconned back on earth we know that Hulk now has a chance to cripple him ^^. Wouldn't that be hilarious, after all the changes Charles has gone throught the Hulk just goes and breaks his back.... (goes skipping in lala land.)

I'm not sure who I want to kill Stark the most. There are just so many badasses that would totally be fit for the job.... There's Wolverine, Hulk, and now Winter Solider!!

Peter wants to kill Stark too, he's just distracted by Fisk at the moment.

You're completley right though.. I really think the next HUGE event Marvel should have would have to be the death of Tony Stark for all his crimes, and at the end of it, the heroes realize they don't feel any better and it was all for naught.

Then Marvel turns emo for the next 20 years =D Till you know.. Wanda brings Steve and Tony back or something XD

AAAAAAAAAAAAAUUUUUUUUUUUUUUURGH

What garbage, WHAT UTTER GARBAGE

Now Tony has adamantium needles to neutralize the hulk. Wow, just fucking wow, let's take the most important/strongest character in the current universe and make him have a weakness that a simple nameless footsoldier can use against him.

Just wow

She-hulk is garbage, first she sleeps with Tony, and now this, just garbage it has replaced my most despised marvel title from Black Panther.

manu
May 24, 2007, 01:25 AM
I refuse to read anymore she-hulk thats for sure. I think the "creative" team just doesn't love their series as much as they should. I mean please at least try to make the series be about She-Hulk and not just... Hulk's cousin.

Plus any supposed "strategy" Iron Man has for the Hulk is probably not going to work so don't worry. Hulk's immune system can fight any toxins or disease, his rage and spiritual traing from his crew protects him from any telepaths (i'm looking at you Xavier) and his body can constantly regenerate and he can absorb all kinds of radiation, meaning lasers and bombs wont work (sucks to be you Ironman)

Really I think only Mr. Fantastic has a shot of stopping the Hulk. Not his superpower of stretchablity, just the fact that he's been in contact with so many stronger bad guys. I mean seriously at one point he actually had the universe in his hands (way to overpower him Marvel.)

What I'm most looking forward too in Hulk titles is how Tony thinks Abomination can stop the Hulk this time since those two have been fight forever and when Bruce Banner takes back control of his body.

Lohnt
May 24, 2007, 02:44 AM
Well Black Panther kicked Silver Surfer's ass for the second time this week, so I'm sure a small differential in power such as the one between hulk and abom is no big prob for the writers

Dragonzair

I loathed this week's She-Hulk. Besides the fact that the art looks like Archie comics, the storyline is killing me. Jen Walters is so much more bad assed than She-Hulk herself, to be honest.

I'm only reading She-Hulk so I could complete my WWH 'mics >.> After that, I'm done.

I throughly enjoyed Cap America #26. I think this title's got a lot of potentials, despite Steve's death. And hey, I think his death would bring more intereted readers to his book. Cap's books never really made it as big as other titles the past few years, save for that Winter Soldier arc, and maybe, now this.

BUUUUUUUUUAH! BUCKY WINTER SOLDIER KICKS ASS. XD Ahiiihii. I liked how he had tears in his eyes after that bar fight. And yay! More Falcon!

And Cap....pooooor Cap. :s I'm kinda hoping they used whatever happened to him as an excuse to bring him back in the future >.>

And Winter Soldier wanting to kill Stark is fun. Heh. I like. Oh, and Tony just blowing off the live interview was...hrm. Don't ask, but it really felt like watching something political, or whatever >.> Like Danny Rand said. You almost feel sorry for him, then you remember all that he did, and wonder whether.

Bah. He probably really felt like blowing up anyway. Anywho.

X Men #199...

I'm not as confused as I was last month. And Rogue's new powers are geting creepier and creepier. :s Iceman and Mystique. Now that's what shocked me. XD Oh well. Polaris left him for Alex, so....oh well. XD

It'd be cool if either Winter Soldier or Green Scar can really finish Tony Stark just in time before his movie is released. It was alright. We get to know more of their names, so that's cool. Danni's awesome (as always). Nothing in here could bore me, though. So I'm stuck with this title, through and through. :D

One thing that bothers me is that Hardball calls Abby by name. :s Huh?

R.I.P Sal Kennedy. He didn't deserve that as much as I hated him for what he said to Hill >.>

But here's what I think:

I don't think Stark can get hurt any more than he can now. Seriously. He may have won the war, he may have gotten control if S.H.I.E.L.D and all that. But he's lost SO much now. And that's all his fault. Which is why I don't hate him as much as all of you. XD Though, I do still hate him for all he's done, just not...wanting him to die. XD

He's lost his best friend, Happy. Then he lost his 'brother', Cap. Now, he's lost his father figure. Oh, and the girl he apparently has fallen in love with. LAWL. Bye, Maya.

Still feel more sorry for Sal than Stark, though. Anywho. Maya's gone to the dark side. LAWL. XD

ZOOMMMG. I KNEW HE WAS ALIVE. Well, of bloody 'course he was alive. But I wish they wouldn't make him evil :s

He was already turning into a new leaf when we last saw him in New Avengers. And also before that in House of M.

Actuall,y he's been good for more than five years now! :yelling He was the only mutant who hasn't done anything worth noting as 'evil' since! I want him good T_T I want the Magneto I read, who was hiding behind the scenes with Prof. X during that X'Mas X Men special.

Ohh...and MORLOCKS. YAYS! But nOES! Poor Leech D:

T'was okay, though I was confuzzled a bit. Not much happening, I think. But I always thought Michael Pointer was Canadian :s Guess I was wrong...

I feel bad for him. Neither side would accept him now. The human community blames him for the deaths caused, not to mention the deaths of almost all of Alpha Flight. And eevn the superhero community hates him. Heck, Logan too.

What sickens me is that most of these superhumans have been scorned by humans for doing something they didn't mean, and now they're doing the same thing to someone who never meant it at all. Anywhoooooo...

All in all, whatever is happening right now, I blame Wanda :p Directly, or indirectly, she 's responsible for almsot everything (if not everything) happening. XD

So yay! Let's blame Wanda for everything we love (or in some of your cases, hate) about Marvel the past three years! WHEEEE <3

That said, when are we seeing her again?

So are the NW all going to be like Sofia?

I didn't really ever read NW before so I dunno how I feel about.. those kind of heroes.
quite honestly, it's turning a bit too DC/Batman for my taste with Winter Soldier, Hawkeye, Ronin (Hawkeye), half the batshit insane anti-reg powerless humans: Punisher etc.. I always found Batman's presence as the "human hero" to be overdone at times with 3 different robins, 2 catwomans, a batgirl and a nightwing etc..

I'm kind of more interested by mildly powerful, but creative new teams now like Runaways, Initiative, and maybe even the new Champions that Tony put together for the west coast.

So anyone else see the preview for the next Initiative?

is Hardball really going to turn all Speedball god-mode and take on the Hulk? This is getting annoying, he got scrubbed by Ben this issue, and over the course of some weeks he's mastered his powers?

But whatever, I really enjoyed the Warmachine/Spiderman exchange this issue, I hope we get more of that soon.

I read an issue of Countdown on a whim
Disappointed Black Adam gave it up... He came out of nowhere and became my favorite character just as quickly as I got to know him. Now he's just a shmoe.. but a shmoe that's not in jail, which confuses me to no ends.

I don't know how to feel about WWH, I was kind of hoping, the monster would be the good guy, while the man (Tony Stark) would be portrayed as the bad guy (as he rightfully is) and that Hulk would harbor no ill will towards humanity as a whole..

But it's looking more and more like he's just going to kill everyone, and not just those responsible.

I liked what the rioters said to spiderman in the preview, I'm heavily dissapointed by his decision to support Iron Man, even if Hulk's hitlist includes Dr Strange, Dr Strange is not a child, he seems like one of the wiser characters of Marvel, he made a choice and I'm sure he'd be willing to accept the consequences. Or at least give Hulk the right to face him one on one and not drag all the characters that shouldn't be involved (She-hulk, Spidey, etc) into his battle to defend him.

And Thor is an enemy...? =( I was hoping Thor would stand by Green Scar because they cloned him and betrayed him. It's making Civil War look like a lesser event than it should be.

I really liked the X-men previews though, Hulk swinging around Black bolt like he's a ragdoll was incredible, especially since I'm reading Silent War now and know just how truly powerful the man is.

Time for this weeks thoughts:

Planet Hulk:

Well, it's finally here.
Pros - Hulk actually smashed something. His Warbound aren't completely useless and Sentry will (under all logic) finally fight the Hulk!!!

Cons - *long sigh*
- The art is kinda bleh.. for a huge event like this, wtf is wrong with Marvel to use such crispy-LESS art??? Civil Warl/Ultimates has such crispy art, you open it up and you're like... *Borat voice* "Niiiiice!"
- As opening chapters go.. I'm not extremely impressed, also I'm confused as to where Silent War fits with all this, but it is quite annoying that Silent War did not end before WWH started, and apparently also Namor is going to war with Stark? Jesus f*ing shit, Marvel needs to put a leash on these events, they just overlap like crazy.
- The last scene.. the tower.. you know what I'm talking about. I'm sorry to say, but I found it a little tasteless.
It was style without substance, they tried to make the event larger and more important than it was by bringing up memories of 9/11... but, this event just isn't that, I'm really sorry to say. Not even from an extremely liberal point of view could you compare Hulk to the middle east... it's just.. tasteless, I'm sorry I didn't like it.

Overall: Check it, wouldn't buy it.

Cable/Deadpool
Well, after ch199 of x-men I decided to read this in the middle of the comics, rather than last. I expected very very little.. I mean what exactly can you make a story out of after the FREAKING HETACOMB rapes your entire country?

God freaking damnit I was wrong. Cable/Deadpool is consistently the GREATEST fucking delivering comic EVAAAAAR!!!. This issue.. was hilarious.

dadadadadada dododododo I'm almost out of bullets dadadadad doodododod... I have never been such a fan of gun wielding heroes up until this point. God Deadpool totally handed Sabretooth his ass.. I LOVE IT!

New X-men
It was interesting, but I'm thoroughly confused

Nova
Really good series, kind of ironic that the Kree's homeworld makes more sense than our own. Shame he didn't stick around, even on Tony's side, Nova is a guy I'd love to hate since I already love to love his character. But I guess it makes sense, although it raises questions as to why superman hasn't done the same all these years...

Sub-Mariner
Where the hell is this supposed to fit into all these freaking wars? I mean I like Namor's characterization and ruthlessness but wtf???? Silent War, WWH, Civil War, New Avengers vs Mighty+Initiative Avengers, make up your freaking minds, I don't know wtf is supposed to be going on!

Friendly Spiderman
meh

Fallen Son
It's always nice to see Petey boy crying and doing stupid things: all in all having his life fall apart. It's the kind of things we as fans can relate to, screwing shit up with our girlfriends, having a family member pass away, starting a fight with someone that had no intention of fighting us etc.

But honestly, this emo-shit is getting dragging, and I really don't see how it adds anything to fallen son. I really feel they should have just made this series part of the Captain America storyline, because Fallen Son just doesn't make sense in issues where Winter Soldier does not appear.

Seriously, only issue 1 makes sense to me, issue 3 is kinda ok, but it still is kind of meh because of the whole hawkeye thing being weird (and he's ronin now) and it's just overcomplicated for complcations sake. Honestly, I think i'll finally get closure on Ronin when Wanda returns, and when the New Avengers figure out what really caused "Civil War and all these events happening at once not being a coincidence"

But until then... blergh.. please focus on Cap if this series is meant to be about him, I love Gwen, I think she should have been his girlfriend over MJ but shit ppl, save that stuff for one of Spideys 6 other titles, don't drag it into Cap's funeral!

Spidey... you'z an egotistical spotlight hogging whore. You're still my fav, but come on man, even at his funeral? We get it, she died STFU Save it for when you're drunk and playing poker with Logan so he can smack you for bringing her up for the millionth time. You don't see him crying over Jean every time someone dies/he gets drunk. AND BITCH, AT LEAST YOU HAVE A GIRLFRIEND NOW, WHEN WAS THE LAST TIME LOGAN EVEN GOT SOME?

Ego's, it's all about who's penis is larger... yea I think I really like it whenever Logan + Pete team up ^^ reminds me of myself and my good friends whenever we go out and get drunk ^^

Not much to add to what Refi said about the earlier titles. I just wish more people started reading DC but that would be a huge read. Thankfully though DC released an essentials packet that should help out with people who know jack about DC. Countdown has been... interesting at least.

Oh and Punisher is good ol' American Fun too.

One thing that distresses me about New Avengers:

How many people are Skrulls?! There's Jessica's baby. And that thing was created by Bendis D: Which of the parent is a Skrull? I will really cry if I find out one of them is a Skrull. I really believed in those characters, especially in Secret Wars and NA.

And them turning out to be Skrulls.

And one has to wonder, why doesn't she breast feed her baby? Why haven't we learned the thing's name? D:

I'm going to faint now that I think about it.

How many of the characters Bendis is working on, is a Skrull OH LORD.

I'm a big Green Lanturn fan and happy they revived him... speaking of revivals

They just killed off the "new" flash named Bart in Flash 13 and brought back the... not so new flash Wally in Justice Leage 10... Ok Flash history is very confusing at times. The orginal Flash hasn't died, the second Flash has. The third Flash has seemingly died 2-3 times and while his lastest "death" was during the Infinity Crisis against the homocidal Superboy Prime he somehow took his family with him >.>. He didn't "die" alone as he and Impulse (prodigy Flash from the future who become New Flash) both transported Superboy Prime into the Speed Force. Well during IC Superboy Prime escaped followed closely by Bart wearing the Flash costume. After the end of the Infinity Crisis Bart just become the new Flash.

He had his own personal series which I thought was really good. But now he's dead and his mentor has been brought back to life -_-"

Ghost Rider is cool imo,

Oh how could I forget Sensational Spiderman xD gogogogo read it now. Even if you don't know that titles past its all good stuff and is easy to jump into.

Ultimate and Amazing (wow three spidey books in one day o.O) are both decent, nothing amazing, unlike Sensational which is real good right now.

Sinestro Corp!!! Wow, I did not see that end coming at all....I was very pleased with what happened I jsut hope that...

kyle doesn't stay Parallax for a long time like Hal did before

Countdown is running smoothly, but nothing really to talk about for me there.

Teen Titans is okay, didn't care too much for the Amazon's Attack Tie in since I dont care much for that even in general. But, I do look forward to Teen Titans 50!!!

Amazons Attack, yet another fail, if not for the great art and the bewbs I wouldnt bother with it...
I love how they depowered Superman in Amazons Attack... how he failed to catch every bullet fired from a couple of feet away from him, while back when he had just recovered his powers after the IC, he caught a bullet fired from a much closer distance at Olsen while he was several hundred metres away.

as for Bart Allen
he will probably come back in the "Final" Crisis next May

I really really doubt it. Of all people I would expect you to read Runaways. I mean seriously if Parker does kill him then there would be no continuency between the titles. Sorry but them the facts of life and well... comics.

Though now that I think about it Kingpin was 100% unscratched in Runaways... I doubt Peter left him without broken bones and Kingpin doesn't have any powers... wellits up in the air I suppose.

Lohnt
July 23, 2007, 05:07 PM
Why do you assume Runaways happens after Spidey??

wrstljr
July 23, 2007, 05:07 PM
He should...he won't but he should. Kingpin has been and always will be a first class d-bag...he doesnt even have the little sidestories that make him seem like a decent human being.

Spidey won't do it though, he's too good of a person. It would be nice if someone else did (Punisher, Wolverine, Deadpool, anyone willing to use leathal force(wait does Deadpool even still kill people?)).

And I've heard a lot of good things about runaways...should I pick it up?

Lohnt
July 23, 2007, 05:30 PM
Runaways is amazing, pick it up right away.

And lastly, to back up my statement, since when has continuity flowed? Black Bolt was an empty Shell at the end of Silent War, how exactly did his wife stand beside him when he faced Hulk? Namor is presumably dead and fighting Tony Stark, and yet he appears in Hulk and Fallen son much alive, but not participating.

Endangered species is supposed to be going on but Hulk is raping the X-mansion, Spidey is losing to female gladiators from Sakaar, and yet he's fighting Kingpin.

Don't give me the continuity argument, it's self defeating.

manu
July 23, 2007, 10:41 PM
Ok we both now that Amazing Spiderman is far ahead of World War Hulk. From there we can safely assume that Spiderman comes out of the Kingpin fight relatively scratch free.

Oh Runaways is really amazing and I owe refii a lot for uploading it for me. Its the greatest comic, download it and then buy it. Seriously buy it.

Back to the arguement; Fallen Son was taken before WWH before too. In fact Stark gave the same speech back in like Captain America two months ago.

All the X-men storylines are in the past. Notice that Rouge and Mystique and other of Rouges team members were missing from the fight?

Only one I have no answer too is Blackbolt's title. Though I wouldn't stress about that too much. I'm 100% sure that its on its own continuency then Marvel's. I mean remember Ares's special series? In the end of that he was supposed to have given up his mortal identity but then in Mighty Avengers he's back at it for no apparant reason. Its something called retconning that happens alot when no reasonable answer is given.

Now the reason I assume Runaways is after Spidey (and before Word War Hulk) is that Kingpin was in jail for the longest time. He met the Runaways after they ran away from Stark (end of civil war) but before the world was under attack from Hulk. Spiderman has worn the Black Suit for pretty much everything after the end of Civil War though right? I mean it was the biggest news in Marvel for a while. But the only reason he begin wearing the suit is that his aunt was shot. Kingpin would not be humanly possible to escape the jail met the Runaways in a restaraunt then go back to jail just to fight spidey. Spidey's Amazing series is before all the current series because every other series has had spiderman appear in the black suit and amazing is the series he first started donning the suit.

Also the Runaways couldn't have met Kingpin after the WWH fight because they were in Manhattan and I doubt it would be rebuilt that quickly and the Runaways would have had an appearance in WWH if they were in the current timeline.

Speaking of Runaways, I can't wait for the Young Avengers World War Hulk appearances.

Anyways I think I argued my point, I may still be wrong but it would be suprising. And a bit excessive. I mean isn't Wolverine supposed to permanently kill Sabertooth this month too?

July 23, 2007, 11:35 PM
They're starting a weekly series for spiderman in.. September? And it is called the day after I believe.

The title either refers to the day after he loses Aunt May, or the day after he kills. A man with a Spidey mask holding a gun is in the first issue, it is unclear if this is Peter.

Peter killing Kingpin wouldn't tarnish Spidey's name, Spiderman survives the ages and that's why we (cornily) have Spiderman 2099 and Spidergirl and Cyborg Ninja Spiderman from space or whatever they decide to create next. They 'tried' to explain this in a mini arc stating Spiderman is more than just an accident, but a mystical thing passed on through the ages, but w/e.. they're trying to create things out of nothing to (after 100 years) buff him to Superman levels of strength despite him never being meant to be that powerful.

Point is, I wouldn't mind Pete killing Kingpin, it's not Spiderman, it's like Bill says in Kill Bill Volume 2, at the end of the day, Spiderman takes off his mask and he is Peter Parker, only Superman takes off the glasses and is no longer Clark Kent. I dunno, Runaways also recently went into the past so I'm not quite sure how they'll mess up the present.
And lastly, I honestly can NOT for the life of me see The Hood being the new Kingpin while Kingpin is still alive, it's just not believable. Regardless of how cool he is.

It would make more sense if the Skrulls had disguised them self as villians instead of heroes. Because imagine if Iron Man was a Skrull, what would be the point of reading his private series? But if all the skrulls are villians then no series will lose fans.

Hey death isn't required in a series to be decent. They killed of both Cable and Captain America in the Marvel U. And don't forget Bart Allen being dead and Wally coming back with his two kids on steriods.

But yeah Kingpin is a villian who has no powers but still manages to be dangerous. I think Spidey made a big mistake. Fisk came into power since he was always the fat kid being bullied and he just snaped and become super violent/evil. Now that he's being pushed in a corner he'll come back badder then ever. At least to the point that he'll kill a hero in my opinion.

Actually there is an arc where Daredevil fights Kingpin and beats him up to a pulp and announces himself as the new "Kingpin" since he thought that if he claimed that he owned the title that no one would commit crimes in Hell's Kitchen. Unfortunately everyone actually thought that he really meant he was the new crime lord of the city and he just isolated himself some more.

Daredevil is the superhero who actually never manages to get it right. Reading the 4-part comic about his dad and I see its in his genetics xD

Starlord kind of let me down with the deaths

X-men is getting very confusing again with Messiah complex, and I may have to stop reading =/

Amazing Spiderman is trying to sell comics way too much with its stories and I really miss Spiderman/Peter Parker that Spiderman truly represents and is portrayed as in other comics where he guest-stars.

Cable and Deadpool was great as always, although a little stupid towards the end. Next issue looks awesome, the cover alone is sweeeeeet!

They just love screwing up with Spidey's life don't they? They even made him a criminal. The thing is, if Danny Rand (of the New Avengers) can afford a jet plane for their "Let's Fight a Bunch of Ninjas in Japan" Tour, why can't Peter go to him for "financial help". And then, there's the (once romantically involved with Dr. Strange) Night Nurse. She's not really a doctor, but i'm sure she had her share of gunshot wound treatments. And speaking of Dr. Strange, why oh why can't Peter just bring May to the good doctor's house and have the Eye of Agamotto solve his problem?

On another note, WWH Gamma Corps is kinda lame compared to the other WWH tie-in titles. They are still training against "Hulk SMASH" LMD, but the Green Scar is way more advanced than that now. If you ask me, a certain team will get a big mean green can of butt kicking. :D

Blue Beetle is joining (or at least training) with the Teen Titans! Awesome!!! And that thing with The Main Man is just hillarious. It's a fool's errand to go up against Lobo, Supergirl oughtta know that, they were teaming-up in 52, right? :D

Is it just me or DC are trying to boost the sale of Green Arrow and Black Canary?

And for Walking Dead reader. How long do you think before they have another major crisis in their hand? I think it won't be too long. Or maybe it's ending, after that hint from Rick's kid. :D

Back in black takes place before New Avengers, in fact it takes place waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay back because Daredevil is currently in the future in comparison to Spiderman.

Which also makes no sense because logically one more day and Spidey being a criminal would happen before Avengers, and thus the Avengers and Dr Strange in particular would not allow for Peter to join them.

I want Initiative to come out already so I can find out who mutant 199 and the new Iron Spiderman is! (Or at least the leader, they said they were only unmasking one)

DC is going crazy with all the Countdown/52 spinoffs, none have been good and even countdown is becoming a drag. Well at least Teen Titans 50 was pretty awesome.

Word War Hulk X-men made my eyes misty >_>

Oh, thank God. I wasn't the only one. XD AHHAHA. Seriously though. I blame Deathly Hallows for making me cry almost everytime time there's a heart-wrenching scene now.

I rarely cry over comics, so that was a shocker, really. XD I also almost blubbered when I saw 'Ro all in a pile of heap in Incredible Hulk. LAWL. But yeah.

I liked WWH: X Men mostly because of that scene. It's a nice end to the series, I think. I'm glad that Xavier doesn't get owned though. I'm slgihtly saddned by the number of people who had wanted to see him getting beaten up. XD

I mean, just like what Cess said, they've all just suffered too much.

Anywho.

Initiative ROCKS so bad. I LOVE IT. Gyrich is a shit, and Dani is awesome for turning Trauma into what he is. AHAHA.

My Nate Grey-Thunderbolts theory came from Dark Beast saying that he theoretically could still be alive/resurrected. The Wiki you looked up was probably for the older character Mind-wave...there isnt a current wiki for "Mindwave" But anyways thats just wishful thinking on the Nate Grey. I think it was sweet on how he split the bullets and everything.

Dude. If that were true, I'd be the happiest shit alive! :D I jsut wished Cable had died, just so Nate could take over.

More mutants in the world. XD That said, I'm VERY curious about Mutant Zero.

And another thing about WWH: X-Men. Hulk hits the spot when he said to Chucky, "you're already living in hell." and i ROFL-ed when Hulk kicked Monet and said: "Go be invulnerable in jersey." XDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD

Anyway, Cessily for X-Babies team leader!! :D
Oh Black Panther #30 is awesome too. I mean the zombies are awesome! Reggie Hudlin should've wrote more stuff like that. And w00t, they went Galactus on that planet!

Yeah, Cess is pretty awesome. She was the one who owned Emma with just words, didn't she? XD

And the idea of having Pixie and Anole in the team is just GREAT! I love all the backgrond characters in New X Men. Now I'll only be happy if Dani makes an appearance. I miss her.

And Justin Pierce. *cough*

Well, Dani is currently wrapped up with counseling Trauma at the Initiative. You know what, i think Gyrich is Skrull. Anyone got idea(s) about who Mutant Zero is? :D

Mutant Zero is probably Sabretoothe's version of X-23 or something silly like that.

I haven't gotten a chance to read the comics because I'm not home, so use spoiler tags sparingly please =/ (although I really want to be spoiled)

LOL. Will do refii. But don't click it until you've read the issue >.>

We-ell, I can't imagine Mutant Zero to be an old character, so she's probably most definitely new. I still can't figure out what power she's been using (granted, I didn't read the issue properly, since I was trying to look for MVP >.>). I have a feeling we won't find out who she is until a few more issues, though :s

Anyone else liking Iron Man?

I might be the only one, but I really am getting into it :D The title's onto a new arc, and I'm slightly dissapointed that there isn't mentions of what happened in WWH but I think it's for the better.

Stark's definitely got way more pressing problems. I really do feel for the guy. XD

Plus, more Maria Hill. <3
And I agree with one of the earlier statements about Fables. It's great to read it all in one go, but once you're caught up, it's just eating up inside you. The wait really is unbearable. But it's worth it once the issue comes out.

Dan Slott had an interview with Newsarama and he revelaed a few stuff about Mutant Zero:

http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=127995

According to what he said, Mutant Zero is someone we all know, and has been cover worthy, or such. And that, even people who don't normally read comics on a daily basis, will still recognise her.

Now, I had actually believed it would've been Daisy Johnson, that young S.H.I.E.L.D agent, but then I don't think non-readers would even recognise her.

I've read a few posts from there, and there are some who believe it may be Jean Grey, or Wanda.

But seriously, I can't imagine Jean coming back so soon, and Wanda....no. I just can't see her hanging off the ceiling.

Then someone mentioned Blink, and I think that actually would be cool! :nuts GYAH. I'd love it to be her. XD Whichever universe this Blink is, it wouldn't matter, cos she owns :nuts

Any other guesses?
And according to this (http://forum.newsarama.com/showthread.php?t=128154), Dan Slott is going to be working with Steve McNiven! HIS FIRST INTERIOR WORK AFTER CIVIL WAR. ARGH!

I'm spazzing so badly now :spaz :nuts :pmg

Now, let's hope Steve doesn't slow work down this time, huh? :amuse
Weekly thoughts XD:

So. I'm utterly confused, the interior art is killing my eyes, and no speech bubbles is slightly killing too. But anywho.

I'm confused. And partly annoyed (maaaybe due to that Atlantean romancing Wolvie...that is just...<_>), and...why the hell would Wolverine be dead? Or brain-dead for that matter. (SKRULL?! *le gasp!*)

And when is this issue taking place? >.> I may drop this title if I'm more confused next week. XD

Ah well.

Yes, I am particularly annoyed at Wolverine's new flame. Don't ask why. XD First it was Black Panther with Storm, and now it's this Anlantean. Ah, Lord.

I have to say, the cover is great :D I love the old-style page, and that 'Still Only 199 cents' is brilliant. XD

Anywho, this issue has been previewed for so long, I actually thought it came out ages go. But anywho, not much to say for this issue...

Just that, I don't care if May will die if it means MJ and Petey staying together :( But yeah....

Wheeee! I liked this chapter alot! I've regained a lot of respect for Amadeus, and that's saying soething. I loathed this boy terribly before this.

But yeah. If one were to think this way, I'd say Amadeus Cho is the only person who can truly OWN the Hulk. He's just so brilliantly smart.

Ahahha, I really like the humour here. Hence why I don't think I'll be getting bored of this title any soon :p Machine Man's fucking hilarious, and annoying. Now I really DO believe Maria Hill sent them to anoy Carol.

Cover's slightly misleading. There isn't much of a catfight between those two, really :p

Machine Man's moustache = Best bit. XD

But really, these two new recruits plus Agent Sum are a great trio. XD Just fun to read. XD (His neck snapping off was just HAHA)

Will update this with the rest later.

Amazing Spiderman is now after WWH. Should be obvious from the title I guess. And well Incredible Hulk 110 all point signs into an obvious ending. Unfortunate... I mean even Civil War was able to have a cliff hanger ending.

^That's who I thught it was, but she doesn't suit the description of "She’s a mutant chick who’s been cover-worthy many times... When that mask comes off, there will be a “whoa” among those reading it. People who don’t even follow comics regularly will know who it is."

I was really hoping it'd be her :p I mean, she's just so bloody awesome. XD I liked her waaaaay before I started liking Maria Hill.

Captain America the Chosen issue 1 was... =]

Oh My God! Either this is Captain America before his funeral at some shield base or.... his death was great exaggrated!!! I was the last person to think that Marvel would lie to use but they've done it so many times before I really should know better by now I suppose. Also I am really enjoying this book so far. Reminds me of the early days of Captain America volume 5. When Captain America was its own book and not just a tie-in novel to Civil War and the Initiative.

Point of the spoiler is to go read this comic.

I'm confused now!

I'm off to get it. XD Will edit this post once I'm done reading.

O.M.F.G

Haha. I got misty-eyed.

[edit]

So, like. I'm so confused now. Marvel is so determined to say he's dead. What if he still is, and this is, as you said, probably before his funeral? Or...oh, I don't know.

I'm so confused, o.o But willing to continue reading, of course. :D Story's good so far, and the art's top-notch. I like the feel XD

Agreed.

And I talked to Ichi about this, but I really believe Thor could own Hulk. Or maybe a draw. I don't know why. But Thor would never fight him because...well. I think he respects him alot. XD

Thor vs. Sentry however, the God of Thunder would SO own him. XD I'd like to see Sentry beaten about, and maybe thrown to the sun.

Thor beat Hulk a couple of times, but I think Hulk beat Thor once or twice more, but that is 1/2 out of about 12 fights so..

Thor vs Sentry would be interesting, because now Thor is the king of Asgard, and the only remaining God of thunder (Zeus died in the Ares miniseries) so, quite honestly, I think it would be amazing to see Thor's true power come back.

Quick question, how do I spoiler tag stuff? I keep wanting to talk about stuff but I don't want to ruin anything haha...I've been a member for so long and I still have no idea.

Well thats what I get for not posting often...

Anyways I agree that Thor could take down Hulk...especially the current incarnation.
