This is a new series of comedy-school life genre that debuted in WSJ this week, by Shinohara Kenta. Story is about a group of couple of high-schoolers from the club 'Sket Dance' who help out people as part of their club activity.

I think it'll be cases of, at most, a few chapters. The first chapter was very detective-like, so I'm thinking a laid back, fun version of Neuro. I hope this manga doesn't get the need to go all "epic" on us. I've had enough manga like that, and would like to read something more mellowed out once in a while.

Funny first chapter btw, Switch and his net-speak/Jump references.
We'll see how creative the author is, and if he manages to keep churning out enjoyable scenarios.

Yeah I really liked Switch and his Jump references. I haven't see much of that in manga nowadays.

I'm not sure waht t osay about it. outside of HELLS YEAH! How awesome is this? I see this having lifespan to it if it maintains this level of quality, without a tsukai style cockup of seriousish arcs.

This is new territory for me, too... I've never really even read a series like this before, never mind translated one ^^; Probably the closest I've come to anything like this was watching the Suzumiya Haruhi anime... or the school-life sections of things like Code Geass.

For that reason, I'm not entirely sure my translation skills will be up to the job; I'm unsure whether to keep translating this one. However, I certainly enjoyed the first chapter, so I'm hoping to have a good go at it!

And yes, Switch is clearly the ultimate awesome.

yes this serie seems cool cnet. But I can't disagree with cnet that he must like the serie to translate it. I owned a scan group, and to scan you need a translator that's interested in the manga. So let's wait and see what the serie will give, but sket dance got a good start like belmonde le visiteur

well by no means would i suggest ANYONE to translate or even scanlate something they don't like themselves, as that's unwise. but i have a level of faith that sket dance should be able to keep people interested. i hope

I did expect more from this new series, but I have to say it's funny. Atm I prefer reading Sket Dance than Belomde :P

We'll have to give them more time to see how their stories grow.

Chapter two was way better than 1. I laughed a lot, the face of monkey when takes that breast. The bunjee jump, the end where the teacher throws as a pussy but the bomb goes off,... everything was so good!!!

I daresay it's Kuma, the character from 2ch that Pedobear was modelled on.
