This collapsing due to overworking is something a lot of us saw comming. Looks like the work to the tankobon and the color pages were the last push for him collapsing. I wouldn't be surprised if he was even cutting off more time of his sleep which with 3 hours was already a joke.

I just hope it isn't something serious cause that's a direction that I won't like. Hopefully it's just simply that he's sleep derived and that he has to do it a little bit calmer which we know he won't since cause of the succes he's more eager then ever cause he's already hearing the wedding bells. I even see him asking this all to hide from Azuki though with blabbermouth Miyoshi you never know.

And kind of funny that that female assistant is 8 y older then them since I thougth she would be a lot younger, her interest in Saiko is something that I always expected but beeing so much older I can't see any serious flirting between them like when she was first introduced.

Rankings are more and less going how I expected except for Kiyoshi Knight. Never thougth it would be that succesful and that it would even do worse then Hideout Door due to Fukuda's unwavering will.

my thought exactly with the assistent girl and her crush.
She looks even younger than all of them, and now she is 8 years older? But considering mashiro should be 17 and she is around 25 it doesn't sound so absurd...

I'm not surprised about her age. Look at Azuki's mother.

This chapter brought the biggest cliffhanger ever seen in Bakuman. I wonder what'll happen to Mashiro. Maybe he's got to take it easy and publish bi-weekly, which's gonna slow down TRAP's progress - however, given he's desperate to achieve an anime the sooner possible, he'd never allow himself to work less.

Well it's obvious he'd collapse sooner or later, but I wonder what will be the consequences of this event for TRAP.

PS: No sight of Niizuma this week.

Lol again @ Hiramaru.

Prediction: Takagi, Miura, and Hattori won't let Saiko work for a while, so the assistants will continue the work by themselves. Takagi will get conscious about Saiko's health and he'll blame himself for what happened to him so won't be able to write a good story for further names because of it, thus making Trap lose a few ranks until it gets cancelled.

I think his girlfriend would say something drama about this, how reckless this is and that their promise wouldn't be worth nothing at the cost of his own life. Probaly some delay for their trap manga saying the mangaka got some health issues. I think it will bring back painful mermory of his uncle.

Worst case scenario, I think he'll have caught a really bad cold or something from getting no sleep. I don't see it going any deeper than that. Which means he'll be out of commission for a while, threatening TRAP. It all depends on how quickly he can recover. Then again, it's probably like everyone has been saying, just exhaustion. Either way, TRAP won't come out of this unscathed.

Cold? How? And exhaustion? The expression on everyone's face at the end wouldn't be like that unless it wasn't serious or life-threatening.

Oh Saiko. Did anybody else look at the emaciated boy with chapped lips, huge bags under his eyes, and hair that was falling limp around his face and think "I'd hit that"? If so, you are a pedophile. Shame on you.

The cover-art for the first trap volume is pretty cool looking. Too bad it might be one of the last ones he gets to do.

"Meanwhile, I'm peeing blood" Oh Hiramaru, you are the king of light conversation.

The middle panel on page 8 seems to be the real highlight of the chapter. I bet they got drunk, sketched that out, and then tried to build a chapter around it when they sobered up.

Saiko looks like he is developing ulcers when they are having the meeting about placing 6th that week. Hot? Jail.

Something about the way Fukuda and his assistant interact makes me feel like the series still hasn't gotten over the problems it had back in the serialization meeting.

Nakai's group looks kind of grungy. I know his story is easily the most artistic thing running in Jump right now, so it's kind of funny to see a group of people who look like they could all use some tub time working on it.

I just realized that a majority of the characters were shown in this chapter. That is pretty common for this series, but a similar thing happened in Bleach this week and people were going on and on about how the series is "taking epic to new levels" Must be nice living in Japan and knowing people will be blown away every time you walk into a room.

"I'm eight years older than him. Do you think I have a chance?"
"Well, 4chan people would say you're too young for him."

"He's passed out on the floor! Take off his pants so I can check for a pulse"

Kato, Kato, Kato. That's how you check his temperature. She'd know this if Asklepios was still running. It was totally that kind of series

I'd hate to say it, but even if Mashiro is fine I think this is a sign that Trap needs to end now or be put on hiatus for a couple years. Mashiro is not sleeping, dropping weight at a fast rate, is constantly trying to focus on something that takes a lot of effort, and is adding more and more stress to himself every time they discuss the progress of the manga. He is lucky that the assistants were scheduled to come in that day. Had they not, he actually might have died. You can tell from looking at him that his body did not have the reserves that would be needed to recuperate on his own after a good sleep

I agree with Doragon that the collapse will affect Takagi. However, I don't think Trap will get cancelled... at least I hope not. I think this event would raise the option of Saiko quitting school and focusing on the manga... or the other way around. However, the latter would be a definite ditch in the road for this manga D=. Parents are going to be pretty involved in the next chapter.

Damn cliffhanger!

Well, i don't think the editors or Saiko's mother will let him continue in such a high tempo anymore. Is there any actual series in Jump that's being published bi-weekly?

Or the editors and staff at Weekly Jump tries to run Trap with longer chapters in Jump SQ or Monthly Jump instead. Even thought Ahsirogi Muto really juat wants to be in Jump.

As far as I know, there aren't any other series in WSJ running in a bi-weekly basis.

maybe since the accident they will be even closer to cancelling -.- The other editors were concerned that they won't be able to keep up, so this might come up in the next serialisation meeting. Who knows, maybe hittori will move them to another magazine, and they'll have to start a new series to get into an anime.

hmmm... I don't think they would move to another magazine. Bakuman is published in Jump, as well as the mangaka's previous manga (Death Note). Having the story move to another magazine means that she would have to write about an experience she hasn't had before... It's also kinda odd to read about another magazine company in Jump... lol... interesting idea tho...

Although, you are quite right... something will definitely come up from this incident. Next serialization meeting? I think so too *nod*
