Heh, so Musashi was wondering the same thing... but LOL at the ending.

The funny thing about "the circle" is, I'm actually reminded of a thread mentioning a similar concept (as a bubble) in Shotokan karate, and on the second page someone points out that the circle/bubble and "reading intent" concepts are both found in Japanese swordsmanship.

Musashi sure is in tune with the spiritual world...

I'm getting a bit nervous here. Ittousai can do a lot of damage and the circle technique is not going to work this time.
Also, where is the missing part of the first colourspread? I'm hoping that the other swordsman is Kojiro.

The first page is from the cover of the magazine, so I don't think there is another part to it. At least, there wasn't anything in the raws.

Well, looks like your question is answered with the 280 raws. That is to say, its cover page matches with the 279 cover page. (working on it btw)

edit: Got on a roll here; finished a rough translation. We should get it out soon. (the raws are sort of lower quality then normal, so it might take some more work from our cleaners, ergo might take a little bit)

And it really is Kojiro... I miss his interaction with Musashi, they look so peacefull here.

Hmm, something is going on with MH. They've removed all the english Vagabond material (including all our releases of it) and say:

Maybe they got a C&D or something. I wish MH would elaborate a little on the issue in their notice. Let's hope the license holders aren't cracking down.

Mmm, weird. I don't see the morale issue as long as you buy the paper book once it's out in your country, but that might still cause legal issues, so who knows ?
Maybe you could just post a translation for the moment ?

As for the chapter : good one. I had a doubt about what Itto really did, but a closer look at the last two pages shows two things : 1) his right hand is still there 2) he didn't draw, he just punched or pushed Musashi (or did a trick with his hand, like hitting a vital point or whatever).

It seems Musashi reached the point when it's no need to draw (well he drew, but changed his mind), and as he's crippled, the fight is meaningless. Might by why Ittosai didn't draw either, but just did "something" with his hand. Anyway had Ittosai used his hand to draw his sword, it'd have given Musashi one second or so to react and adapt.
The teaching here might be something like "the point is winning, the sword is just a way, any way would do".

This is a bit of a tangent from Vagabond per se, but relevant nonetheless:
What we'll do is just not upload 280 here and link out from this forum to our site with the release (I guess maybe I'll link from there to an online reader since MH is the normal reader we have linked). Vagabond is under Kodansha which has apparently been banned on MH.
