Summary and Preview

Akihito Aoki is tossing a ball against a wall, thinking about how time passes but nothing changes when, suddenly, everything does.

Tokyo is hit by a seventh-degree earthquake and is reduced to a state of chaos in seconds. Wandering through the chaos, Akihito comes across a woman buried alive playing a small whistle.

"I'll go get help!"

"Everyone who says that doesn't come back..."

He frees her from the rubble and she introduces herself as Miyu Sakaki. Carrying her on his back, they try to reach an evacuation center while they deal with looters, thugs, and aftershocks as they fall in with Luna, a transvestite, and wonder how their families are doing. They've survived the disaster, but can they survive the changed world? [polm23]
