It is amazing, fun, imaginative with amazing art and a great set of villians which use people negative emotions to obtain 'servants'. I had only seen it a few times, but thanks to a bit of a spamming from the fans on TUMBLR, they convinced me to check the manga out. And man am I glad I did. The beginning was a comical fun starter that leads into a very intriguing plot; which is actually darker in tone compared to the lightheartedness of the main characters' initial journey.

I've said it before with some other series and I'll say it for this one, too; Magi will definitely become one of the best of the best in which everyone will recognize and respect it.

This is really one of my new favorite manga. It has refreshingly original characters. Although superficially this manga is your typical shounen with magic, plenty of gag humor, and an awesome protagonist with a powerful ability, it involves suprisingly deep themes of the flow of governments, social inequality, moral values, and thoroughly invigorating political commentary. The nations represented are mirrors of old or current civilizations and give great insights on different governments they had throughout history. This manga will really please both the young shounen reader and the older shounen reader with its hilarity and its action scenes. One aspect I found particularly refreshing was the fact that the characters do not have the repeat of the same exact spell or ability over and over again. Instead the spells and abilities continue to change and you don't get bored with combinations of the same exact ability like I am sure naruto and Bleach fans got. All in all I give this manga 5 stars and thoroughly encourage you to read it. Permalink " "

The best and most amazing plot ever. Great characters, great story flow. Far surpasses all other anime stories I've ever seen. I think one other anime series that is almost as good is Basilisk. I also think the other anime with a plot that is almost as good as Magi is the anime movie Ninja Scroll. Permalink " "
