Summary and Preview

One hot summer, mysterious deaths occur in the small, isolated village of Sotoba. It's a big deal in a population of only 1,300, but the snobbish Shimizu Megumi has no interest in it. The only things she cares about are the new couple moving into the out-of-place castle and her one-sided crush, Yuuki-Koide Natsuno. But when she's invited to the castle she ends up dying... The only doctor, Ozaki Toshio, wants to do an autopsy to find the cause but is refused. He's not the only one who thinks there's something strange about the recent deaths though, the priest, Muroi Seishin also senses something happening to the village. However, Natsuno is just glad he doesn't have to be weary of Megumi's constant stalking anymore, but he can still feel her eyes on him... He tries to shake off the feeling, she's dead... right? Ryu Fujisaki, author of renown "Hoshin-Engi" recreates Japan's master piece novel "Shiki", written by Ono Fuyumi, through his distinct graphic style of manga art. Fujisaki's "Shiki" is no redundant visual paraphrasing. By embedding his creativity through the pages, the story becomes a complete new experience bringing deep down chills accompanied with blood-dry thrills.
