Summary and Preview

Hatanaka Keiko's an odd girl with odd aspirations(I mean, REALLY weird), but she tries her best to fit in with the other girls in her class... she still sucks at it, though.

One day, she meets Asami, a girl who's even more of an outcast than she is... but unlike Keiko, Asami's own "outsider" status doesn't seem to bother her in the slightest.

As they grow closer, what's going to happen to Keiko's standing among the other girls? And what about Asami's own issues?

Ninomiya Hikaru is known for writing tough, unusual love stories. In this one, two girls, both feeling like outsiders, are drawn to each other and begin an unusual friendship. Asami feels all alone, but prefers the emotional safety the distance gives her. Hatanaka feels unloved, and desperately wishes to find someone, anyone, who will care for her - and feels it will never happen by itself.

As these girls start to learn about each other, they start to open up little by little. Asami finds Hatanaka's irrepressible charm infectious, and respects (as well as makes fun of) her naive views. Hatanaka finds Asami's steel will impressive, and is intrigued by Asami's mysterious past.

As of chapter 17, there is a strong yuri vibe, but nothing definitive. As with all of Ninomiya's works, it treats sexual relations in a very frank way. Permalink " "
