For those of you who either don't have a google wave account (Let us know if you want one) or just can't be bothered with it - we want to introduce you to Piratepad!
What Piratepad lets you do is involve multiple people in a quality check session with a translation you're working on. The reason it has some similar features to google wave is because it's based on the code that Google released for all to use.^^
So say a translator translates something, they can then post it into a new document they created at piratepad - they then link that to a proofreader/translation checker and can see what changes are done - in REAL time. The changes are also left in whatever color the person is set to for ease of knowing exactly where what is changed. It also has a chat function at the bottom right to allow the people working together to discuss without the need to change from program to text to program again.
In short, it makes the hassle of updating your work a lot more smooth.
Try it out and let us know what you think :D.
You get privacy with google wave (only people you choose can see it) but it's also more of a hassle
Piratepad is good if you just need something quick and easy :3
Google wave is good for more control + options
See you there! I've got 「NHKによこそう!」
The only question I have is this- say, if I upload my trans of Ao No Exorcist chapter 9 to pirate pad, and I need like 5 lines checked... how do I get someone to check it? Do I just post it in a thread somewhere? (http://piratepad.net/aEYASWRLZa)
but I'll see if i can get around to it later (gotta wake up early tomorrow so ._.)
Looking great.
