Today is a new day for you all on MangaHelpers.com as we can proudly announce to you the latest revamp of our website. The brilliant minds of Lekima for the original design, Osso for the coding that happens behind the scenes and Nimloth working on the frontend have all come together to bring you what you're seeing now.

So, that's good and all, right -- but how does it benefit you?

While this facelift does not bring about any immediate added features other than a real news system, a manga cloud to show what's popular and a section showing off you, our precious contributors at MangaHelpers. What has been heavily changed could be what you call "under the hood" as far as our website goes (not the forums) has been taken out, modified, rebuilt and customized specifically to our needs. You may remember times when the website was slow due to features on the main page, or even times where the website was down due to too high traffic.

- Well, gone are those days indeed.

MangaHelpers.com is in a transition - a transition aiming to become the number one manga fansite community on the net. Yes, it is a steep goal but while we feel confident that you, our loyal fans and members, already make us the best Manga community, we can reach higher and improve on ourselves for everyone's benefit.

This website redesign has been in the making for a few months, and will continue to be developed for a long, long time to come. Plans for features, services, benefits and rewards for our community and user base have been discussed and drawn up, and this change to our framework allows us to rapidly develop the website tools which will benefit you all.

To show which direction we are headed, we've also taken the time to revamp our Downloads and Releases section. Before, it was quite limited with important areas being neglected. But we believe we've organized it a bit better this time around and hope that the areas that you'd find most helpful are right at your finger tips. For a complete breakdown of what new forum changes just took place, check out this thread.

We hope that you will follow us over the coming months as we deploy the services you want, aggregate the content you want, and ultimately give you the perfect tool for ALL your Manga needs.

I will change it to mostly divs and CSS when I get time at a later point :] theres no big rush!

But seriously, kudos to the programmers and the designer. Site looks great, needs to have a few kinks worked out for usability, and color contrast (the light gray text on the front page for example), but overall, I love the change. I saw this on Dev-Art a while back and thought, it'd be great if MH was to actually implement that design. Now it's done. So yay. This was quite funny when I found it, "<div class="DivMenuNav" id="ie6sucks">" Haha. Time to scour your source code.. :D

Yeah, I'm confused as hell. To start, the "Latest X" needs to be at the top of the lists, not the bottom. On the plus side, I DO LIKE THAT IT ALL FITS ON ONE PAGE WITH NO SCROLLING. YES. THIS IS A YES.

YECK! I thought I mispelled mangahelpers and got sent to the ad filled sites that serve as placeholders for mispellings. Dont crucify me or anything for this...but here are my thoughts. (not spellchecked cuz I'm hardcore) Constructive Critiscm Time: - There is little to no structure, its just boxes of dissimilar size and shape hanging around eachother. picker thing to the left of the news is absolutely useless, and terribly implemented. It looks very out of place and I would much rather like to have that space as more space for news - I hate that there is no formatting at all in the "Latest Scans/Trans/RAWs" boxes, and some items go two lines, some one. It also suffers from "Scan by zindryr by zindryr", oh and the mouseover for the "Latest Scans/Trans/RAWs" boxes breaks the (little) formatting that is actually there. - The announcements box is a disaster waiting to happen, although its more orginized than the old one - The "Manga Nav" is just uselessly floating in the abyss - The logo splits up MangaHelpers into Manga Helpers...I feel this is not good as it is what originally got me thinking that I was in the wrong place - The black background as a rollover for the nav bar is kinda awkward - The lower third of the site, with the art, cloud, contributer etc is very poorly sectioned off and further skews the structure of the site - Generally it seems disorginized and thrown together Things I liked: - I like the stellar looking background with the tribal-y jazz going on. - The colors seem to work out. - I like how the "Latest Scans/Trans/RAWs" boxes are color coordinated. Anyway...im kinda disappointed I really hope this was kinda rushed together and I hope it undergoes a lot of tweaking.

Congratulations! I really like the redesign and new forum rearrangement. Don't really like the "quite" BIG reviews banner that doesn't seem to fit. Is it really necessary there? Thanks for keeping this site dynamic - always changing and advancing. Edit ('cause I can): I mostly agree with Mike98 above about the whole 'thought I was at the wrong site' thing, I actually thought the same way, the colorful reviews banner really look like an advertisement I tell you! Also, I agree about the announcements box not being at it's best, with the amount of the weekly raws and releases the contests would nearly always be hidden and right now it just looks like two rows with no separation between them (unlike the old layout where there was distinct separation) and could be easily confused between if there would be two lines-worth of raws, in which case (I guess) the releases would get completely hidden unless you press on the 'Expand' button. The new version is great, but it's not perfect. it still could use some work imo, but thanks for all you've done.

I have to give a big hand to NJT, Nimloth and others who have worked hard to get this new version of the site running. There's still obviously bugs, but over the next few weeks things will be ironed out =) Sure, it'll take getting used to, but I have found it much easier to get around once used to it~ As much as I loved the old layout and was comfortable with it, I think it's good to see the site moving forward. Thanks for all the input, guys, the staff really appreciates it! It will help us make the site the best around~! LadyH. (who should be studying for midterms >.> )

Well obviously something new will need time to get used to but I love the way the site looks. I had seen this concept image on deviantart and wondered when and if the admins were planning on implementing the new layout. It looks great, the front page is so dynamic and very accessible, still looking for the sidebar that listed every section but time will change that. Well just wanted to say, great job to all the people who worked on this new groundbreaking change and a gracious thank you, for all your hard work and dedication to your members, guests and fans who have the love for manga. Surprising at first sight, and so much difference in the navigation! It took me about 1 hour to get used to it, and now I can see how hard you all worked on it. I like this revamp, only the color of the background does not always suit the forum. Anyway, congratulations! I'm sure people will like it at the end :-)

Is there the possibility to change colors? Like having the background in black for exemple. I liked it better that way before ^^. A dark background is easier on the eyes :). The new look, is nice . Really original. I am having trouble navigating though. I was really used to the old one. But this one should be more practical one we are used to it :). Great job to the one that worked on it ^^.

Oh, ok, there's one thing I've just noticed: the Manga Nav button is really small and easy to miss (I only just saw it now by accident) and in a random place (above Image Gallery - any particular reason for it being placed there?). I think Manga Nav is a very handy little button. I'd definitely use it. So, it really should draw more attention than it currently does? Just my opinion. ^^

Still getting used to the new layout to offer any constructive comment... other than having the option to change the background. I love the Beach forum theme too much to change it. I knew the front page was getting a revamp, but seeing it live blows me away.

After spending some time checking out the changes, navigating the forums and getting used to the new stuff. I have to say I really like the way the goal of this site is now displayed on the front page. For some reason I think it is important to be very upfront about such things and it makes us look more serious and professional. I also love the way that imortant contributing members are highlighted now. They deserve all the recognition they get and some of them deserve even more. I also have to admit that the new front page does look "nice" (I guess) the colors are very bright and, as many have said, the pink is a little harsh. But it does give of somewhat of a sense of sophistication. That said, I still miss the side bar. It was one of my favorite things in all of mangahelpers. It enabled quick forum jumps from any one point to another. Can you please bring it back in some form or another? I know you have poured a whole lot of work and time into making these changes And I really hate to make it seem as if I do not appreciate the changes, But you see, the side bar and I had something special going on... just kidding. But seriously, I do want it back. Finally this sudden change made me realize, I really do not care what you guys do with the website. As long as the members I have come to love do not leave and as long as the amazing staff keeps doing what they do so well. I will always keep coming back to mangahelpers! Even if I no longer have any interest in Manga.

while bringing the side menu back probably won't be possible, the nav menu at the top is intended to be a substitute until we can create something better. (Hopefully that'll come soon ;) ) Just look up at the menu and the words MangaNav will guide you to where you need to go :3

For the people having problems with the navigating: there's a manga nav - which makes it easier to go to your section though I think there should be a second nav for scanlators/translators etc It's something to get used to but how come mx0 isn't in the shounen nav?

Well might be the download section in the manga nav and such things as scanlation request/translation request (example of a scan/trans nav) etc on the other hand RTS thread isn't only useful for scanlators anyway forget what I said, the navigation is really good and thanks for adding mx0 - though I only see the button in the nav when I am on the front page not when I am in another section

I can't read anything especially on the front page D: I also can't find a way to change it to something that I can read. Are there even other skins for the site yet? Perhaps one with bigger front and more of a muted color scheme like before? It's very hard for someone with learning disabilities to navigate, and it's making my headache worse. I might have to avoid the site until my headache goes away, and I really don't know when that will be.

Hm, i guess i liked the old layout better. 3 Points: 1) Navigation seemed to be much more intuitive but that may be due to habit. 2) Some text can't be read well because of lacking contrast between background and characters (grey on white). 3) Does look kind of "pop-up"-ish, especially "home". Almost randomly placed graphics that in fact are links? Not too elegant. It's almost too flashy, so that your eyes wander without rest ;) But I'll stop complaining. You guys do a great job and I really like it here.

Okay, I've been to class and back so I'm not as blurry eyed as I was first thing in the morning when I made my first post and was lost as ever. To put clarity to my half asleep babble. 1. Light blue text on a white background whether bolded or not, is REALLY hard to read since the colors are too close together on the pallette. 2. The black and the pink thrown together is busy and loud. It's still making my migraine worse, so I'm trying to avoid the front page and header as much as I can now. 3. The images seem kinda there. I feel like I'm looking at someone using a default LiveJournal skin with a few tweaks. Maybe that can help with a possible alternative skin? XD My suggestion would be to use the blues from the previous default because those colors were easy to see and navigate with. These are just too busy or too blended into the background. Sorry for posting twice, I just wanted to be more helpful than I was earlier. <3 I do really appreciate and love this site. I don't want ot have to avoid parts of it X3

Wow, when I clcked mh.com and saw this, I thought: this is MH?! FTW?! xDxDxDxD Ok, really amazing job I see here <3 I like it very, very much, but at first it is a hell of a confuse time to navigate properly xP But I must agree also with damnz: "I feel like being somewhere else not MH, cuz the old look was simple and efective" I feel the same at the moment. Hard to navigate. The old system was much better and more intuitive. It took me 5 minutes just to find the login link. It was much easier when there was just a box for username and password on the home page. Manga was separated on the home page by the most obvious categories with popular mange coming first. Also why all the cutsey, girly manga pictures? Don't most people come here for Shonen and Seinen manga? I would bet our demographics are something like 80% male, 20% female. Yet I feel like some of this look is only two steps away from Hello Kitty. I swear, if I see another little girl in some weird outfit or "cute" hat I will puke.

intriguing, very intriguing this new mangahelpers came as a surprise to me, but i like revamping and changing, you guys are awesome and you're already my #1 manga site, hope its makes things easier to organize and navigate, keep up the good work MH...you rule!!!

The new colors are Ok and I like them, but the frontage with the navigation boxes (or whatever they're called)look kinda messy. And also, what is that black corner right to our profile at the frontage meant to be? ^^''

I like how I can see if I'm logged on from the main page. I like the new page a lot better, it is easier to navigate once you get used to it.

Uhh...to be totally honest, right now I hate it >___> Its hard to navigate and looks like a generic crappy anime site...I dunno, maybe its just the shock of the change but right now I'm totally confused and can't find anything anymore. Personally, I like the neat look of the old layout. If you can incorporate that kind of thing into this one, I might be able to warm up to it a little. Also...after looking a little more...dear god, I can't see past all these advertisements...O
