In April I talked about a Manga Shouts and Shouts Workshop area but it quickly got lost in my daily life and work. So in hopes that I can keep it going again I decided to revive it once more, but this time change the rules a bit also.

A quick summary of what the Manga Shouts and Shouts Workshop is all about goes like this:
* A member wants a manga to get more fans as well as translated and scanlated.
* They then gather all the info they can about said manga and create a "Manga Shouts" thread in the "Shouts Workshop" forum.
* Inside the thread they include downloads, signature pics, links and other various info.
* They also request those with talent in making signatures or any other content to help out, as well as regular members to put those creations in their signatures to help "Shout" their love of the manga around the forum / net.
* In doing so Translators / Scanlators can see what manga needs work on and can offer their services and thus getting the manga more attention, more fans, more love and eventually its own forum!

And that's about it!

Before the Manga Shouts were limited to only me writing content. But now, to help speed up the process and get more and more shouts out I've decided to ask for some help. Anyone that wants to create a "Manga Shouts" thread is welcome to. Just read these two threads: Welcome thread. What are Manga Shouts thread. As well as see an example here and then knock yourself out :D.

If your workshop has enough effort put into it I'll bring it more attention on the front page, so do try to gather as much content as you can.

With that said let's try to get manga that needs attention the attention it deserves! Shout your favorite manga today!

You mean there are other manga out there besides Naruto and Bleach! NO WAIZ! Though seriously sounds like a great idea. I remember having a few projects I wanted translated back in the day, problem was the material was all seinen. Hence furigani less and a pain to translate. Not to mention the difficulties of raw hunting... Ooh maybe we should have winny/raw hunting tutorials. I know a lot of scanlators and translators who wish they could just get their hands on some material.

Sounds like a great idea. However, I think it would still be faced with a major problem, which would be getting persons to view the Manga shouts threads. I mean, it doesn't make any sense that we create the threads to expose various manga but have few persons see them. I think what is key is placing these threads in such a way as to encourage persons who just go for their regular manga to read new ones, which would help give newer or less popular manga a larger fan base, and encourage the discussion of various manga, which is in keeping with the site's goals. Just my two cents on the matter. Keep up the good work! :)

Some of the manga I'm thinking of don't have raws floating around that I'm aware. Although, there is a rumor one of the series has the German books scanned in a torrent somewhere. I guess this only applies to series that have readily availiable raws? Because I was thinking that if you wanted to make a shout for a manga, but couldn't find raws, maybe someone might see your shout that owns the raw version of said manga, or has scans of the raw version for whatever reason and would be willing to add that to the shout. Also, are these individual efforts or maybe group efforts?

They start off as individual efforts, and if you can rouse the attention of quite a few people they then become group efforts. We here at MH will also try to help it get attention as much as we can too :). As for the raws, they are quite essential if you want it to stand a higher chance, but bringing up the point where there are raws needed for it too is a good one. But then I wonder, how do you know if it's a good manga or not? :p Never the less feel free to ;).

I know it's a good manga, because I've read official releases. One manga I can think of is impossible to come by anymore, and the other got dropped after volume two.

great idea! I am always looking for new manga's to be interested in. I have one manga that was scanlated but eventually was dropped so I will create a write up for it.

I see we have a new banner as well. Good idea!! I also came up with a nice one after seeing it. Wouldn't it be great if like at the side or at the top of discussions threads etc, there are little notes that say something along the lines of "Persons who read [Manga X] also read [Manga Y]" etc, similar to what Amazon does when you buy something from them. So for example, at the top or side of a Naruto discussion thread, there could be a note like "Persons who read Naruto also like/read Bleach" , with the Bleach word being a hyperlink that links to information about the manga, anime etc. I'm not sure how difficult something like that would be to create, but you could look at the boards where a person's posts and therefore determine the manga the person reads and then compare it to the overall total of persons who read the same thing or something like that. Anyway you guys have done a good job so far keep it up!
