Gintoki-sama, let me give you a bit of advice.

There are two types of Shikigami. The ones that'll do whatever you tell them with no questions asked,

And the ones that if you turn around for more than a second, they'll rip your head off.

I'm one of the latter. I was cursed by the Ketsuno clan because I was running around Edo and stirring up all kinds of hell.

Since they caught me they have only been using me against easy goblin type opponents.

He has had his power passed through the generations, and is the most powerful member of the Ketsuno clan. He is often referred as a prodigy Onmyoji.

I'm actually very grateful to see that Gedomaru has protected Christel's friends.

Seimei: As you may have heard, we of the Kestuno clan have been Onmyoujis protecting Edo as long as the Bakfu and the country have existed.

Why do you think we of all people have been tasked with sending and receiving messages?

Seimei: Because we have the 'sight.'

While we can foretell disasters and omens of evil. We analyze our target
from every angle before we can say we have seen anything.

It's the same as scientists who gather data and analysis it before making a decision. So it goes without saying that I already knew you'd be on your way here.

With these two eyes, it's child's play to see an individual's future.

However to gain the insight to see visions on the scale of a country,

Would require eyes of great power, in order to see without being disrupted.

Sadly I do not posses eyes like these.

To make up for this, we have numbers, and a lot of them.

Wherever you go in Edo, we have shikigami stationed there which keep their eyes open.

Their eyes are to me, as your eyes are to you. With this much surveillance, the question would be better phrased, 'how didn't I know that you were coming here?' As with our Shikigami, it's possible to see the whole country, and therefore guide the Bakfu into making decisions that will lead into a glorious future.

Needless to say, I always keep tabs on my one little sister.

I of course have consent. I'm simply interested in seeing just why she'd choose to send you guys here, and more importantly why she'd rely on you.

I'm not entirely sure if Seimei-san is burning with energy for his sister, or trying to burn her up, but at least his heart is in the right place.

Gedomaru: They're the Shirino clan.

(TN- Ketsu and Shiri are both ways of saying 'ass'. If Kubo's a boob man, guess Sorachi must be an ass one.)

Shipachi: Shirino-clan?!

Gedomaru: They're the one clan that even comes close to matching the magnificence of the Ketsuno-clan.

Ever since the Heian period began, The Ketsuno and Shrino have been at each others throats like mountain monkeys.

Shinpachi: WHY THE HELL WOULD THEY BE NEIGHBORS THEN?!

Gedomaru: There isn't a time where one clan has really had the upper hand against the other. It's always one significant win followed by a significant loss. This is the perpetual circle the two have been stuck in.

As they grew tired of the senseless violence, the two clans finally decided to make a pact with each other.

At the beginning of Edo's age the Ketsuno clan and Shirino clan were said to both be employed by the Bakufu, and they made great accomplishments.

Even Seimei had a hand in this...

The Shirino clan asked Seimei for one condition for them to agree to the peace pact.

Which was have Christel-sama as a bride.

(TN- And holy crap Sorachi, connecting something nearly 30 volumes ago to now? Do I smell continuity?)

Gedomaru: At that time Seimei-sama was disgusted with Christel-sama, gaining popularity as a weather announcer.

He saw this as an opportunity to pull her back to this world, and easily
accepted this condition.

And of course Christel-sama wanted the best for both families, so she went along with this plan, and married into the Shirino clan.

Though it was for the sake of the families, she could not like to her heart.

Especially when the Shirino would not allow Christel-sama to predict the weather, once she became a member of their clan through marriage. Her health became weaker and weaker, as she tried to keep up with the better days....

At the time, Christel-sama,

Just gazed out at the sky.

Seimei-sama realized what he had done, and labored to bring his sister back.

Forgetting the contract with the Shirino-clan, he took her back by force, and allowed her to continue predicting the weather.

And that hatred flowed back into their midst again.

The fighting....

To keep from returning to the errors of the past, the Ketsuno clan fought,

With all of their power to protect Christel-sama.

As does the Shirino clan,

who hold a strong grudge against the Ketsuno clan and Christel-sama,

The truth is that it's evolved into something much more complicated than that.

This is now a magical war,

Over the weather.
