This chapter was an awesome emotional roller coaster. I didn't think Sorachi could pull out so many emotions in one lesson. Where things will go from here is anyone's guess....but with the anime ending next week, you can be sure I'll be here!

Kada and Saigou probably got together and planned to knock out Otose-san.
It won’t be long ‘till Otose-san’s shop is completely destroyed by the Shitenou.

Otose and our boss used to be friends back when they were lil brats.
One night, he got a lil’ tipsy and started talkin….
About a story that happened way back.
See, when the boss was a lil’ kid, he was one bad little thing. Though, Otose would always be nearby to keep ‘im out of trouble.
He had one foot down the wrong path, but Otose wouldn’t let him go there…
She was the only one who stuck with ‘em…and kept ‘em on the straight and narrow.
It was cause of this that boss became a popular made man that ran the streets.
You coul’ say that it was ‘cause of Otose that the boss was born.
This was Jirouchou’s golden age. Nary a person would be able to touch ‘em in a fight back then.
Howevah, there was one guy who was strong ‘nuff to fight our boss, and take home a win.
The guy who did this,
Was the law man, Terada Tatsugorou.
Yeah, Otose’s husband.

Katuso: Even after that huge fight, the two of them would go at it ovah and ovah again, to tha point that people started lookin’ forward to when they’d mix it up.
A man of the law, and a made man…two guys from two different worlds…but through their fightin’ they realized they both were soldiers tryin’ to protect their city.
Before long, the two of them became friends.
But one thin’ stood between ‘em…
And that’s the one woman they both’ fell head ‘n’ heels for.
Boss wanted Otose to be happy,
So he stood back.
It shoulda been perfect, his childhood buddy with his best friend….
A made man like him had no problem puttin’ aside his own happiness and trustin’ his pal to take care of her.
But Tatsugorou couldn’t make Otose happy.
‘Cause he up ‘n’ died, leavin’ her alone.
In tha middle of war…

Leavin his woman, and his little girl waitin at home.
However, some new business was waitin’ for him here…

In ordah to keep his strangle hol’ over tha city, he worked hard…
And abandoned his family.
Is he stickin’ it out ‘cause of Tatsugorou who betrayed him and died?
Or ‘cause Otose took away his happiness?
No matter how ya look at it, he still has a connection to Otose…
And that’s tha truth.
Now ya see how things are all messed up?
He’s tryin to atone for tha things he did, ta make up for bein a bad daddy…
While his kid is out tryin’ to win ‘em over.
Katsuo: I’m a thug.
‘Cause tha boss picked me up from tha streets, I don’ have no problem rubbin’ people out for ‘im.
