I'm really starstruck. An early raw, and my first in sequence Kyuubee chapter. She's such a great character....I hope she comes back more often...although there are plenty of other characters I hope Sorachi gets to before the next big arc.

As in, although we have birthdays we don’t physically age.

Tae: Today, it’s Kyuu-chan’s time to experience the Sazae-san method.

(TN- Sazae-san is a really old (I think it started in the 70’s or 80’s) anime that airs on Japanese TV today. I suppose Tae’s simply saying that although the fans of the anime age, the characters in it do not.)

Tae: Off buying birthday presents.

Shinpachi: Is it really a good idea to trust them with that task?

???: Otae-dono….Shinpachi-dono…

Instead of being a birthday party for a friend, it feels like some kind of hoity toity art gallery.

Tojou: As the young master’s friends you two have special places of course.

In a situation like this, you should simply eat your food in silence.

I propose that we go out and buy Kyuubee-kun a Nintendo so that we can allow the real games to begin.

That’s why in the house you must respect the rules laid down by mothers. If you must go to the bathroom, do it at your own house and keep the one at the party clean for others to use, and don’t reveal any embarrassing secrets about the host…as it’s their party.

Gintoki: In any case you can rest easy, as we know what we’re doing.
