"Let's be together for ever, right Natsume..."
Aoi sleeping, Persona smiling. Narration: "The mysterious red stone in Natsume's sister's hands. The reason why Persona is smiling...?!"
Aoi: A red stone.... just like Onii-chan's eyes. Surely this stone will protect me just like Onii-chan. My secret amulet..."
Back to school, Natsume and Ruka are talking. Ruka is suprised to hear that since the day after he stayed at Natsume's home, Aoi has been having a fever. It's been 3 days now since her fever started, twice they called doctors but they cannot understand the cause of her rising fever. Natsume says Aoi has always been weak and easy to get fevers, though 3 days in a row is long. Ever since Ruka stayed at Natsume's place without permission, and then apologized with Natsume, his mother realized she was being overprotective. She's very happy to see Ruka happy and even permits Ruka to walk to school, though his body guards disagree. They rather take the car instead of walking(not for RUka's safety but for their own lazyness). On their way to natsume's home to visit Aoi, Natsume tells Ruka that Aoi's been saying strange things, asking if he knew where her red stone was. Aoi said she held it in her hand all night but it kept getting smaller and smaller then dissapeared as if it was absorbed through her hand. "where's my amulet..."
Aoi is happy to see Ruka(she and Natsume call him RU-chan, like his mother) While Ruka keeps an eye on Aoi, Natsume goes out to look for a red stone to replace the "amulet" Aoi keeps looking for, hoping that would help her to feel better. In a limo going around the city, Narumi and Makihara-sensei are talking. Makihara: "Ah! I just remembered" Narumi:"What's this all of a sudden..." Makihara -sensei remembered what the red stone Persona was handling with gloves the night they went to the Hyuuga house. The stone is a prototype created by the Gakuen labo, which is a medicine to expand the alice power.(a bit like Tono-senpai's alice) But the stone is supposed to still be in study because for the moment if one touches the stone, it will be absorbed into the body and will make one's alice go berserk....
In hearing this Narumi-sensei is worried, he remembers Persona smiling, satisfied evil face. Why did that man have that ....
Aoi thanks Ruka for being friends with Natsume. She's glad natsume looks so happy when he's with Ruka. But then, Aoi's fever begins to rise enormously...she's burning hot. Ruka is worried. The bidyguards say that the house phones don't work (looks like the lines were cut off) and they are out of cellular phone range. Ruka asks them to go down to town and call a doctor while he goes to get Natsume. Aoi begins to have trouble breathing... the house begins to burn, the fire from her alice won't stop spreading! from afar, Persona is watching the burning house. Ruka and Natsume running back, see the burning house. Makihara-sensei and Narumi also arrive. RUka's bodyguard jumps out of the burning house with Aoi in his arms. The fire is spreading at a tremendous speed to town. Natsume doesn't understand what's going on. Ruka yells they must escape. Narumi and Makihara-sensei reach Natsume who is holding Aoi in his arms. Narumi sees a bruise like mark in Aoi's hand. Narumi: "You....we were too late...." Natsume:"the teacher's from that time....what do you mean "too late"?! You know something...." Narumi:"Give her to me" Natsume:"Don't touch her! what did you do to Aoi?!" Narumi:"we don't have time to fight...listen to me" Narumi tell them to quickly go to town and make the people evacuate. They will take responsibility to take Aoi to a hospital. Her alice will continue to go reckless and soon even normal firefighting ways will not be enough to clear the fire. Even for Natsume it won't be easy to clear such a fire which was not created by his own alice. They have no time to explane why Aoi is in such a condition, but Narumi will take responsibility to do his best and bring her back to normal. Narumi:"Now go!" Ruka also goes with Natsume to help the town people escape before anyone gets hurt. Narumi finds Persona. He calls him "Serio-sensei" Persona explaines that it was the principal's orders. The Principal gave him the stone, to make Hyuuga Natsume use it, making Natsume's alice go crazy, in order to convince those who were against Hyuuga Natsume being used as a "kikennouryoku"(dangerous ability) But it was not in his plan that the younger sister uses, and not in his expectation that the younger sister have this much power. He knew that even if Natsume was to use the stone, though his alice would go berserk, Natsume has enough power to absorb his own fire. Unfortunately, Aoi doesn't. With a satisfied expression, Persona says: "To be honest, it was not in my calculations that the younger sister be able to go this far. Seem's like cleaning up will be tougher than expec..." Narumi slaps Persona hard. So hard his mask falls off. It's the first time Narumi see's Persona's unmasked face:"So dark...eyes color of darkness" Persona, angry, tells Narumi he hates people like him, who think of themselves as pittyful though they've only seen a very tiny darkness. Persona:"I wouldn't mind rotting off that hand of yours right now,...but I'll forgive you this time. Because this much was in my calculations. " Narumi prays that Ruka and Natsume be in time to help the town people evacuate. People in town see the strange fire coming from the house on the hill, spreading. Whatever is done, the fire just won't die. Natsume's father hears of the fire....
Natsume and Ruka are running allover town, telling everyone to escape. Narumi calls the Gakuen for emergency recue. People see that only around Natsume does the fire dissapear, and only he is unhurt even though he's running in the middle of the flames. The whole town is burning. Someone says they know Natsume:"He's that boy who created that explosion at school, the one who lives on the hill. Everyone sayd he's the fire alice" Narumi brings Ruka and Natsume to see Aoi. She is in medical care. He explanes that the town completely burnt, but miraculously there were no deaths and little were hurt. Officially the cause is still being investigated. But Aoi, though she is not in a life threatning situation, because of a long fever and reckless alice, she may have lost part of her memory and her vision. Gakuen officials ask Narumi, "so the fire was cause by this girl's alice?" Narumi says no! just like he had reported earlier it was because of the stone Serio-sensei(Persona) gave her. But the officials say there is no proof, and Serio-sensei (Persona) is denying. Town people and reporters are saying that it was caused by the fire alice siblings from the hill, running allover town creating fires. In Natsume's head, he hears his sister pleading for healp, "Natsume don't leave me alone" The officials say they cannot cover up for them(Natsume & Aoi) any longer. And so Natsume lies.:"It's not my sister's fault...I....I did it." Narration:"Natsume covers up for Aoi...?!"
