Flashback!Ako: (How many days have I been living now in this strange new world...? // Thanks to everyone working so hard, once this festival is over, I might be able to go home to Japan... // But still... Negi-kun says he's doing all this because he's responsible for us, as our teacher... // ...but why is Nagi-san working so hard, I wonder...? // Nagi-san... // Aahh... that was a real shock just now...
DoubleFlashback!Ako: I - I'm sorry!
DoubleFlashback!Negi: N - No, that's...
Flashback!Ako: (The way he reacted... // I wonder, could he be thinking about me a little, as well...? // I hope he at least sees me as a girl... // Or maybe, he's actually doing all of this just for my sake~! Heheh, I wish~!♪ // But... this really could be the only chance I'll get...

Period 243: Rakan at 120%!!
[Insert text: Love is always the biggest battle~!♡]
Flashback!Ako: All right... I have to confess how I feel. // I'm going to confess!!
Flashback!Furry: Confess to what, exactly?
Flashback!Ako: Ah - no - it's nothing...!
3
Flashback!Ako: (Confess... // Confess... // It looks like this world is Nagi-san's home, so I may not get another chance once I go back to Japan... // ...Ahh...! // Nagi-san...!
Flashback!Negi: Oh... Ako-san! // Thank you for before. Is something the matter?
Flashback!Ako: Oh - no... // (I've got to confess... aahhh... // But if I do something like that right before his big match, it'll only be a bother to him... // That's right... I can't do it now... Even though he's about to have this incredibly important match, and all of it for our sake, all I"m doing is thinking of myself... that's no good.) // U - Um, what are you doing?
Flashback!Negi: Just doing a little research into my opponent in the final.
Flashback!Ako: Oh... Jack Rakan-han... Have you found anything useful?
4
Flashback!Negi: Well, to be honest... // The more I find out, the less confident I feel...
Flashback!Ako: Whaaaaa?! B - B - But...!
Flashback!Negi: Oh - no, I didn't mean it like that! Of course I mean to win the match! / [aside]that's why I'm doing this research![/aside]
Flashback!Ako: Y... Yes, you're right... I've been watching you all this time, and... you really are strong. // The customers at the shop are all saying that you're going to win, too! ...I heard them saying Rakan-han's really just a useless big musclehead who never thinks anything through, and he only won before and became a hero by sheer fluke...
Flashback!Negi: Yes, well... it looks like the truth is a different story.
Flashback!Ako: Huh?
Flashback!Negi: If anything, that description would better fit his friend, the Thousand Master.
Flashback!Ako: (The Thousand Master... Negi-kun's father...)
Flashback!Negi: Jack Rakan wasn't always the invincible man he is today. // In the Year 978 of the Imperial Calendar - that's around forty years ago today - he made his debut in the arena, a young slave gladiator in the Empire - and over the first few years, he almost died any number of times. // It was only after he climbed to the peak of the gladiatorial world and became a freed slave that people began to call him "invincible". // He retired from the arena, and following that, took part in numerous actual battles in the outside world, overcoming many crises and dilemmas; it was then that people began to call him "the man who cannot die", "the Thousand Blades", "the Legendary Mercenary Swordsman", and so forth.
5
Flashback!Negi: There's no fluke about it... his strength was forged and tempered over forty long years of real battle experience and training. // You could call him the ultimate hard worker. // Compared to Rakan-san, the veteran who built and secured his strength through a lifetime of battle... // ...the Thousand Master, who managed to match up to his level right from the very beginning, is the fluke; a completely random genius.
Flashback!Ako: Wow... // B... But... huh? So what are you saying exactly? Rakan-han isn't some fluke... he's actually... uh...
Flashback!Negi: Indeed, if you're going to start calling people random geniuses relying on natural talent alone, that could very well apply to us, as well. // But you can't make such accusations of the ultimate hard-worker, who built up all his talent from scratch. // There are no "tricks" to that strength.
Flashback!Ako: Aahh...
Flashback!Chamo: But hey, it's not like the guy's infallible, ya know?
Flashback!Ako: Oh - Chamo-san!
6
Flashback!Chamo: Hell, just the other day he was so busy messing about flipping girls' skirts, he got himself well and truly caught in their trap!
Flashback!Negi: That's all an act. And it's his mountain of confidence and experience that allow him to act so laid-back.
Flashback!Chamo: What about those pervy attacks of his?
Flashback!Negi: No, if my suspicions are correct, even his skirt-flipping had a reason behind it.
Flashback!Chamo: Seriously?!!
Flashback!Negi: It bothered me, so I looked into it. // The skirt-flipping was what allowed him to break through that barrier.
Flashback!Chamo: Whaaaa?!
Flashback!Negi: It was theoretically impossible to escape, you remember? That's because the key to the barrier is directly linked to the soul of the person casting it. / However, there's a secret method of unlocking it through physical contact...
Flashback!Chamo: You're kidding me! / [aside]you sure you're not overthinking this...?[/aside]
Flashback!Ako: (No way... // He's going up an incredible guy like that... all for us...) // Ah... Nagi-san... // How do you intend... // ...to defeat an incredible man like that?
Announcer: Eight!! // Nine!!
Natsumi: Has he really done it...?
7
Announcer: Ten!! // Eleven!!
Dolphin: In a shocking twist, the hero Rakan has gone down! It will be judged a KO on a count of twenty!
Announcer: Twelve!!
Dolphin: Kagetarou is not moving, either!
Announcer: Thirteen!!
Dolphin: That attack of Kojirou's went pretty deep... // What do you think of this situation, Zaytsev-san?
Zaytsev: He took two major enchantments in a row, and direct hits to boot! Even a hero is going to have trouble with that kind of punishment! / That second attack in particular, the Thunder Tempest, was made at point-blank range! Frankly, it's a miracle that his body is still in one piece!
Chisame: He's actually... you're kidding me...
Chamo: Aahhhh...
Anouncer: Fourteen!!
8
Kotarou: Looks like your plan worked like a dream, huh?
Negi: Yeah.
Kotarou: The "ultimate veteran"... he won't fall for traps, and we're no match for him in experience. // So how are a couple of ten-year-old upstarts like us meant to beat him? / It's simple enough. // Speed... Power... // We just have to outdo him in pure specs!!!
9
Seras: It's one thing to say that, but to actually successfully put it into practice... / That "Raisoku Shundou"... it's an incredible technique. I don't know what to say.
Ricardo: That's for sure... it's not every guy who could develop a technique like that in just ten days!! // What I wouldn't give to have that kid on my Magic R&D team... That Negi Springfield is one kid to watch out for...
Kotarou: What now, Negi? Want to get in one last blow? It won't make you popular, but it's not against the rules...
Announcer: Seventeen!!
Negi: No... let's wait. It would be dangerous to approach him carelessly.
Kotarou: What?
Announcer: Eighteen!!
Yuuna: All right! Go Japan~!
Makie: Just two to go~~!!
Nodoka: He's done it, he's done it! Negi-kun's really done it~!!
Shiori!Asuna: All riiiight~~!♪
Ako: Negi-kun...
Flashback!Negi: (If Rakan underestimates me enough... if the match proceeds how I expect... I can probably defeat him. The early stages are what really counts. // But if that's not enough to take him down for good...)
10
Announcer: Nineteen... Aahh!
Kotarou: What?!
Announcer: Aahhhh...! H... He's up?! He's on his feet!! // He's standing there as though nothing had happened... is he not even damaged?!
Ako: (H... He got up...!)
11
Rakan: ...Heh... // Heheheh... // Heheheheh... // Eheheheh... // Eheheheheh... / Hahahahahah... // Hahahahahahah!
Announcer: Wh - What on earth is wrong with Rakan?! / H - has he sustained damage to the head, or something of that nature...?!
Rakan: Hahahah! / Ahahahah! // Bwahahahah! // Aaahahahahahahahahahahah! // WAHAHAHAHAHAH!!
12
Rakan: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH
Kotarou: H - Hey... is this...
Rakan: Hahhh...
13
Kotarou: Ahh... / *gulp* // (Wh... What incredible force of presence...)
Negi: (That's the first time I've ever seen Rakan-san take a stance...) // Kojirou-kun... this is where the real battle begins.
Kotarou: Yeah... Nagi.
Negi: Emittam et Stagnet! // Chilipl Astrape!! // Complexio!!
14-15
Negi: ?! // (Wha...?!)
Kotarou: (This speed...?!)
Negi: Ghahh... // Ngh... // Raisoku Shundou. // Kotarou-ku -
16
Negi: ?! // (No way... [aside]when did he...?[/aside] // He's faster than me?! // Impossible... he can't be!)
17
Negi: (Crap... Pressure Barrier!!)
Announcer: A sudden reversal!! / Rakan's team are both still in action!
Koyomi: Oh? // I thought you said you weren't interested in the match... // Who is winning, then? // Aa...hhh...? You're... not in a good mood... / Why's that...?
Tamaki: [aside]scary...[/aside]
18
Fate: ...Hmph.
Rakan: RAKAN HARIKEN SHOU!!
[TN: "Rakan" is written as the word "rakan", a Buddhist term for the ultimate being, one who has achieved Nirvana. "Hariken" is written with the kanji for "destruction", "reverse" and "sword", but is most likely intended to evoke "hurricane". "Shou" means "palm".]
Ako: Aaahhh...!!

Finally....
One thing seems odd, though: on page 7, Zaytsev says:
"He took two major enchantments in a row, and direct hits to boot! Even a hero is going to have trouble with that kind of punishment! / That second attack in particular, the Thousand Bolts, was made at point-blank range!"
The thing is, in chapter 242 the second attack, at point blank range, was "(Zero-kyori) Jovis Tempestas Fulguriens", or Jupiter's lightning storm. The _first_ one, "Chiha Yaburu Ikazuchi" was derived from the Thousand bolts, a ranged attack.
No idea if it's a translation mishaps or if it's the mangaka himself. In any case, I guess I'm nitpicking.
I guess I just saw "ikazuchi" and automatically translated "Thousand Bolts"...
