His appearance is a stark contrast to his rather narcissistic name. Before joining Fairy Tail, he worked part time at a sushi restaurant, but he was just too perfect for the job, and his manager asked him never to quit, so he did. His Earth Magic allows him to multiply his strength by beating the ground with his sticks like a drum. Indeed, he seems to like drums - a few days ago, during one of Mira's performances, he just couldn't contain himself, and burst in with some drumming of his own. His dream is to become a producer for an idol.

Kana: Luxus pulled a thing like that?
Makarov: ...But either way, it's all over now. Now that all of you are de-petrified, Luxus can't possibly keep up this ridiculous game any longer.
Mira: Still... what about everyone who was caught in Fried's traps and got seriously hurt...?
Visca: That's right!! Luxus had better see some punishment for this; we can't simply tolerate it!
Makarov: Oh, you can be sure I'll give him a proper seeing to later! // Damn you, Luxus... you've gone too far this time...!

Natsu: Here's the thing... I've gotta admit it was a bit screwed-up of Luxus to force everyone into situations where they had to fight against each other... // But there's nothing wrong with his basic idea of finding out who's the strongest in Fairy Tail, is there?
Levi: I'm... not sure I agree, but...
Natsu: All I'm saying it... don't be too harsh on the guy, yeah? // Old man.
Makarov: Natsu... // You're really something sometimes~~
Natsu: So, yeah... // Let's start the Battle of Fairy Tail, Round 2!!! Who wants to try me, huh~~~?!!!!

[Side text: Mashima's Ramblings (1): I was sad to hear about Frank Nagai passing away. I always loved his bass voice... Just like Mizuno Haruo earlier this year, it feels almost like losing a friend. I pray that he might rest in peace.]
Natsu: I mean, we still haven't even done anything!!! C'mon!!! Bring on the battle!!!
Lucy: Stop that, please... Coming from you, it's hard to tell if you're joking or not...
Kana: Hell, if you really want to, I wouldn't mind giving you a round, though!

Luxus: It looks like we've lost one of our rules... so I'm going to instate a new one. // So as to keep this Battle of Fairy Tail moving... // ...I've activated the Hall of Thunder.

Luxus: Only one hour and ten minutes remain... do you think you can defeat us? // Or will you play nice and retire? "Master". // Hahahahahah!
Makarov: What on Earth are you thinking, Luxus?!!!! Are you trying to drag innocent civilians into this?!!!!

People: Every one of those individual Lachryma crystals is charged with an enormous amount of magical lightning... // Don't tell me the "Hall of Thunder"...
Lluvia: ...means exactly what it sounds like... a palace of lightning...?
Kana: And if that "hall" is Magnolia Town...
Lucy: Wait, what would happen if those things discharged?!
Kana: The town would be engulfed in a storm of lightning strikes...

Kana: Those Lachryma are enchanted with a form of magic that links any damage done to it back to the attacker.
Lucy: Huh?!
Kana: In other words, if we attack those things, we just end up attacking ourselves!
People: At this rate, everybody in the town...! // There's nothing for it but to take out Luxus himself!! Let's go!!! // I'll try and evacuate as many of the townspeople as I can!! // There are still two of the Raijinshuu left!! Be careful, everyone!!!
Luxus: Hahahahah!!!! // How's that, old man?!!! My new hostages... are the entire population of this town!!!!

[Side text: Mashima's Ramblings (2): That "Little Big Planet" game for PS3 is crazy, isn't it! I don't know that I've ever had a game amaze me quite so much. The battle for highscores with players all around the world is really fierce... I actually managed to get tenth in the world myself for a little while!]
Levi: Natsu... Calm down!
Natsu: Like hell I can do that!!!
Levi: Come on, get back up here.
Natsu: Dammit!!! There's even an invisible wall all the way up here?!!
Levi: It's an Enchantment, right? // That's a form of Written Magic... I might be able to do something about it.
