---------------------------------------
Takase:

My name is Takase Michiro.

Please take care of me.

Kakeru:

Please take care of me too.

Seven:

Seven:

Is this guy for real? He is only in high school first year and yet his height nears around 190cm.

Takase:

Hoho.

Kakeru:

!

Takase:

Your face has a weird expression. Are tall people really that rare these days?

Kakeru:

Hah nope, there is no such basis. I apologized.

Takase:

Chapter 25: The greatest weapon.

----------------------------------------------------

Takase:

Speaking of the surname Aizawa, there is a very famous person going with that name.

Is his full name, Aizawa Suguru? He is supposed to die in a car accident.

Kakeru:

Takase:

The reason the television broadcasters televised the U15 match against the Brazilians live was because of him.

Although he is very much a genius in everyone’s perception, is that all there is about him?

Kakeru:

What do you mean by that?

Takase (In Kakeru’s face):

Does he really have the skills…

To justified the public’s perception of him being a genius?

Takase:

Looking at that same point, there are a lot of people with …

… his level of ability that are disappearing.

Kakeru:

Takase:

In long run, if we pitted

… our physical body against the bigger opponents, we are in the losing end

Seven:

Takase- kun

Takase:

!

---------------------------------------------------------

Seven:

Do you know Maradona?

Takase:

… Is your name, Mishima- san?

… isn’t it surprising to know that a manager like yourself you know of Maradona.

Seven:

He is originally from the famous Argentina club, Boca Juniors. He also plies his trade with Spain’s Barcelona and Italy’s Blackhorse, Napoli.

From the period between 1986 and 1987, he led Napoli to the championship twice.

In 1986 World Cup against the powerful England team, he clearly demonstrated his ability to dribble past 5 men. Subsequently, Argentina won the World Cup.

Kouta and Kakeru:

Takase:

Seven:

He is a footballing legend in football’s history.

Seven:

Diego Armando, Maradona …

… whose height is a mere 168cm.

Takase:

---------------------------------------------------

Seven:

Height isn’t everything there is in football.

And be that narrow- minded about football.

Kouta:

Cheers ~

Takase:

*Cold Stares at Kouta*

Takase:

Heh…

Takase:

As expected,

Aren’t you Aizawa Suguru’s younger brother?

Takase:

I suspected that in the place upon hearing your name.

Kakeru:

Takase:

In addition, I was able to conclude taking into account that you are such good friends with Kouta, from Kamakura Junior High.

Kakeru:

Looks like what Seven said earlier was true afterall.

There is no point in me hiding my identity any longer.

---------------------------------------------------

Takase:

I honesty have no idea on why would you want to the join the hobby club

If you want to continue playing football, you should …

Oda:

Takase!

Kakeru:

Takase:

Hah…

Seven, Kakeru, Kouta and Takase:

Oda- sempai!

Oda:

To each of his own. All you need to do is work harder from now in order to meet the coach Kondou's expectation.

Takase:

Erm…

Yes!

------------------------------------------------------------

Seven:

Oda?

Oda:

We will be having a friendly, remember to do your warm- up during the lunch break.

Takase! You are the starting forward.

Takase:

Thanks!

Oda:

Kouta, although you are not a regular yet, you will still have to put on your jersey.

Kouta:

Yes…

Kakeru:

Soccer Club’s Year 2 student.

Oda:

You are Aizawa Kakeru, right?

Kakeru:

Yeah, I am.

Oda:

If it is possible after school, do come and take a look at the Soccer Club’s match.

Oda:

That is all I have to say.

Seven and Kakeru:

Seven:

Kouta, who on earth is he?

Kouta:

Soccer Club’s Year 2 student, Oda- sempai.

He is the current Soccer Club numbered 10.

Seven:

Where will the Soccer Club holding their match at?

Takase:

-------------------------------------------------------------

This is Kaihin High.

They qualified for the district tournaments twice.

Kakeru:

You seem to be very clear of it.

Seven:

Of course, I am the manager.

Kakeru and Seven (looking at the players in the field):

They are already doing their warm up.

Player on field:

Hey!

Player with number 9 jersey:

Hey!

Background noises:

He’s good!

Kakeru:

What skillful footballing techniques…

The talents found here should be rarely witnessed in high school football.

Seven:

It is the same as Enoshima High Football Club.

Kakeru:

!!

This can’t be…

----------------------------------------------------------

After the Golden Week, the high school championship will begin.

Hence the match between Soccer Club and Football Club should start before late April.

I believe that this match would the simulation of what there is to come.

Kakeru:

Seven:

?

You seem awfully happy.

Kakeru:

This shows that they are serious right?

Even the coach, Kondou, recognizes FC’s threat,

That explains why they decided to hold this match. Even thinking of that would make one trembled with excitement, right?

Seven:

You are really enthusiastic about this!

Kakeru:

Of course!

Seven:

Hey, it looks like Enoshima High’s Soccer Club has arrived.

Arriving SC’s members:

With a look, one could tell that all the players here are respected regulars.

Oh, even Kouta is here. But he is just a mere baggage boy.

---------------------------------------------------

Players on the field (listening to instructions):

Return!

Defense, hurry back to your positions.

Scoreboard:

Enoshima 0

Kaihin 0

20 minutes have passed for the first half…

Players passing ball:

At the moment, both are evenly matched.

Seven:

As long as we do not underestimate over opponents, as long as we do not make any major mistakes. That is football.

In the World Cup held in Germany, when Japan played against the mighty Brazilians. Both teams are evenly matched and wouldn’t let their guards down for a minute.

In the end, it was Japan that got the first goal.

Kakeru:

And then, that means…

--------------------------------------------------------------

Seven:

In this match, the opponent, Kaihin High, will be under distress by the second half.

Kakeru:

Huh?

Seven:

All you have to do is to look at it carefully.

Seven explaining (Opposing player jersey 10 in the backdrop):

In reality, it looked as if Kaihin High is dribbling past their opponents.

Seven explaining:

They are using short passes to connect their attack.

It looks as though they are creating chances.

Seven explaining (Defenders in backdrop):

However, the attacks are countercheck by the two Enoshima High’s SC lanky central defenders.

Hence, they are unable to create a decisive chance.

Seven explaining (player jersey 3 passing with a lob):

This is in fact happening…

However, Soccer Club’s style of attack is relying on long and high passes once they received the ball.

-----------------------------------------------------

Player heading the ball:

The player will connect the header to his team mate, who is just waiting by the side.

Players in Jersey 4 and 9 (Making their moves):

The player makes a quick dash to the penalty area,

… displaying a typical textbook type of move.

However this type of attack will lose it effectiveness once figured out.

Seven:

Even though this move is easily figured out, it still doesn’t mean that the attack amounts to nothing.

The use of physical advantage in this situation poses the most danger and makes the difference.

Kakeru:

Okay…

Seven (further explaining the technique):

In order to receive a high ball and pass it to a teammate within a split second,

… a player with height advantage is needed to do it using a header.

----------------------------------------------------------

Facing off against a 190cm tall giant, any technique used is useless.

This is the ‘weapon' that one is born with.

Guy in Jersey 6:

The high ball has been passed onto the right.

Our chance has arrived.

------------------------------------------------------------

Player Jersey 6 dashing:

Damn it!

Enoshima High SC attacking:

Close in on him. Don’t let him have any opportunity to attack.

Striker (Jesery 14):

The ball is in midair.

-------------------------------------------------------

Takase:

Hahhhhhh!

-----------------------------------------------------

Goalkeeper and defenders:

Takase:

*Walks away from goal line*

Oda:

Kakeru:

It went in!

Seven:

1-0. That should conclude it for the first half.

Takase and Oda:

*High fives*

Coach:

There would be a 10 minutes break. There wouldn’t be any injury time during the second half either.

---------------------------------------------------

Kakeru:

Seven:

I feel that the way that the Soccer Club’s playing style is simple, but…

Seven explaining further (SC players resting as backdrop):

Even though it is simple but, the players aren’t tired.

On the contrary, Kaihin High, who has been relying on dribbling and passing,

Seven explaining (Opposing team resting as backdrop):

As long as the ball is tackled away,

… the team will try their hardest to retrieved it and further press on with their attacks.

Hence, their energies are totally sapped.

Seven explaining (Kakeru’s face as backdrop):

That is why I would say that the second half would be more frightening.

Kakeru:

-------------------------------------------------

Scoreboard:

Enoshima High 1

Kaihin High 0

The second half begins!

Opposing team:

Kakeru:

They are trying to delay the game play just after scoring one goal.

Seven:

No matter if it is 5-0 or 1-0, a win is still a win.

It is the same as long as the opponent doesn’t scores.

---------------------------------------------------------

Kakeru:

But isn’t there a saying suggesting that by attacking alone would be the best defense?

Seven:

That is correct…

However in football sense,

It may also be true to the opposite.

Kakeru (in response):

Opposite?

Opposing player jersey 10:

Damn!

Kakeru (Chibi mode):

Alright! Kaikin High is through!

Opposing team (yelling in together):

Move forward!

We must recoup the one goal deficit!

Enoshima High SC players (charging down on opponent):

!

Opposing team player:

Damn, the ball has been stolen!

---------------------------------------------------

Player with Jersey 2:

Oda!

Opposing player jersey 10

Damn it!

Kakeru:

Huh?

Oda did a lobbing pass?

Opposing players shouting to each other:

Back to Defense!

Seven:

After scoring the goal first,

… there also exist a possibility that they might lose even with a goal up, but…

-----------------------------------------------------

Takase:

Hah!

Kakeru:

Look at how high he could jump!

Seven:

By adding one more person into their attack,

… the opponent’s defense loophole would be exposed.

Enoshima High SC’s player (yelling to another):

Kouda- sempai!

Bald Guy:

Leave it to me!

Seven explaining (with the bald guy scoring as the backdrop):

The counter attack for the second goal happen just when the opponent were busy attacking.

Dealing a considerable amount of damage to their morale.

Opposing players:

2-0!

--------------------------------------------------------

Kakeru:

Seven:

In football sense,

Seven (In the backdrop of both the Specs Guy and Tall Guy):

Defense,

Seven (in Kakeru’s backdrop):

… can also become the greatest attack!

Kakeru:

----------------------------------------------------------

Tall Guy:

Stop doing that irritating action when you do not have your spectacles on!

--------------------------------------------------------

Seven:

Kakeru:

Ugh sorry for not being able to TC even one of your TLs... hay fever decided it'd be a great time to crash at my place, among other things. Here's what I've got so far:

Seven:
Is this guy for real? He is only in high school first year and yet his height nears around 190cm.
> "Is this guy really a first year? He's almost 190cm tall."

Takase:
Your face has a weird expression. Are tall people really that rare these days?
> "You look like you've seen a monster."

Kakeru:
Hah nope, there is no such basis. I apologized.
> Hah makes him sound like he's laughing. "No... I didn't mean that, sorry."

---------------------------------------

Takase:
Is his full name, Aizawa Suguru? He is supposed to die in a car accident.
> "His full name was Aizawa Suguru, right? The one who died in the car accident." Past tense, since he's a dead person.

Takase:
Although he is very much a genius in everyone’s perception, is that all there is about him?
> "He may have been a favourite in everyone's eyes, but can he really live up to it?"
Lit: although he received everyone's eager attention

Takase (In Kakeru’s face):
Does he really have the skills…
To justified the public’s perception of him being a genius?
> "Is he really the kind of player who deserves... // The shower of attention he got from everyone?"

Takase:
Looking at that same point, there are a lot of people with …
… his level of ability that are disappearing.
> "There are many high-schoolers of his kind of level // Who end up disappearing [off the radar]."
T/N: disappear from the news

Takase:
In long run, if we pitted
… our physical body against the bigger opponents, we are in the losing end
> "To begin with, our physique is already inferior // compared to the puberty stage bodies of foreign players."

---------------------------------------------------------

Seven:
He is originally from the famous Argentina club, Boca Juniors. He also plies his trade with Spain’s Barcelona and Italy’s Blackhorse, Napoli.
> "He originally played at the famous Argentina club, Boca Juniors, and later moved into Spain's Barcelona team and Italy's Blackhorse Naples team."

In 1986 World Cup against the powerful England team, he clearly demonstrated his ability to dribble past 5 men. Subsequently, Argentina won the World Cup.
> "...he demonstrated his legendary technique of dribbling past five men, and helped Argentina win the championship."

Seven:
… whose height is a mere 168cm.
> 166 :P

---------------------------------------------------

Takase:
In addition, I was able to conclude taking into account that you are such good friends with Kouta, from Kamakura Junior High.
> "I became even more certain when taking into account the fact that you seem to get along well with Kouta."
