潮：てめーなんか地下でおとなしくしてろ!
Ushio: Why don’t you just sit quietly underground!

とら：へーんだ、だれが二度ともどるかよ。。。。
Tora: No way, who wants to go back down there?

潮：あ～あ、どうしてくれんだよ、テレビ！
Ushio: O~h, why did you have to do that to the TV！


潮：ありゃーな、テレビっていう高価なシロモノなんだぜ！
That really expensive thing called THE TV!

とら：そーかその「てれび」とやらの中にサムライがいたのか。
Tora: Yeah, that “Teevee” thing had a samurai inside it.

潮：あほ、今の時代に侍なんかいるか！ありゃ役者なの。
Ushio: Moron, you think we have samurai in this day and age! He was an actor.

とら：　役者？そういう名前の小さい侍なんだな！？
Tora: Actor? Is that that little samurai’s name?


潮： あのなーっ！！
Ushio: Geez-!!

潮：それになんで学コについてくんだよ。
Ushio: Why did you have to follow me to school…

潮：それでなくてもうっとーしいのによ。
Ushio: Even if you hadn’t, I’d still feel like crap.

学生達：うへー。 なに？ 爆発したみたいだぜ。
Students: Huh. What? It's like it exploded.


とら：おい！うしおとかいうヤツ。
Tora: Hey, you, Ushio-guy.

とら：カンちがいするなよ。
Tora: Make no mistake here.


とら：わしはおまえに取り付いてるんだぞ、くっちゃるために！
Tora: I am sticking to you like glue in order to EAT you!

Tora: Right now, I’m holding off because you’re toting around that spear,


とら：そのやりを三尺でもみからはなしてみろ。たちまちとびつき引き裂いて、
Tora: But just try setting it even three feet away. In a second, I’ll fly at you, tear you apart,


とら：骨までしゃぶりつくしてやる！！
Tora: And chew down to your damned bones!


とら：いてー。またぶちやがたなーっ！
Tora: Ow! Quit hitting me!

潮：おおぶったわい。それがどーしたんだよ、ええ！？
Ushio: Oh, did I hit you? WHY did I do that, huh? Huh!?

Students: Hey, Ushio. Whatcha doin’?


潮：別に！！
Ushio: Nuthin’.

いたかったんだぜ　あれ パーだな
That looks like it hurt. He’s nuts.


学生１：おーす、蒼月。その長いのなんだよ？
Student 1: Yo, Aotsuki. What’s that long thing?

学生２：変なモンもってくっとセンセに没収されっぞー。
Student 2: If you bring that weird thing in, the teacher’ll confiscate it.


潮：これか？オヤジの留守中にもっててくれってたのまれたんだ。
Ushio: This thing? I’m holding it for my old man while he’s away.

とら：うそつけ。
Tora: Liar.

学生２：ふーん、潮のオヤジが変わってるってのはセンセたちの間でも有名だ かんな。
Student 2: Hmm, your dad’s travels are legend among the teachers.

Ushio: No can do, I’m busy with club activities!


学生達：うしおーっ　くどいよーだけど美術部はおまえにあってないって！
Students: Ushio! I hate to tell you but the art club doesn’t need you!

学生達：　そうだよ、運動神経のカタマリのオマエがなんで芸術にキョーミもつんだよ 　　ーっ！？
Students: Really! How can you be interested in fine arts when you have
the manual dexterity of a lump of dirt?

潮：　うるせえ！おれは絵が好きなんだよっ。
Ushio: Shut up! I love drawing.

とら：　うっとーしいニンゲン達だな
Tora: These humans are really depressing.


潮：ホラ、一時間目はじまるぜ。
Ushio: Okay, first period has started, let’s go.

学生達：　でもよ～あんなヘタクソなえかいてるよりスポーツの方がずっとおまえ
にゃ、あってんだぜ～！！
Students: But you’re SO much better in sports and you SUCK at drawing!!

潮：　な。。。なにがヘタクソなんだって？
Ushio: Wha…what do you mean “suck”?

学生２：　ホラ、このまえお前がかいたついらくした東京タワーとかさあ。
Student 2: Yeah, there was that picture of Tokyo Tower with a plane crashing into it.

麻子：なーにやってんのよ！
Asako: What are you doing now!


麻子：　まったくあなたは昔から進歩ってもんがないわね。
Asako: You really have made no progress since you were little.

麻子：　ぜんぜんね。
Asako: None at all.

真由子：おはようつ。
Mayuko: Good morning.


真由子：　ね！ね！！うしおくんっ。
Mayuko: Hey! Hey, Ushio!

Mayuko: I can’t believe what happened yesterday. It was like a dream!

真由子：　そうお。。。。。麻子？
Mayuko: Really, Asako?


潮：　へっ、泣きながらしがみついてきたくせに。
Ushio: Hmm, just because you ended up crying and clinging to me.


麻子：　なんかいった？
Asako: Did you say something?

真由子：麻子　それ＿＿＿ちかづいたらヤバイよ。。。
Mayuko: Don’t get close to Asako when she has that look in her eye…

潮：いーえ、ちっとも！
Ushio: Nooooo, not a word!


麻子と潮：　ふん！
Asako and Ushio: Harumph!


学生達：　麻子おはよう。 やあ中村さん。
Students: Good morning, Asako. Hey, Nakamura.

麻子：あいよ　おはよーっ。
Asako: Hey, good morning.

学生２：中村さんは何でオマエにだけきついのかねえ。
Student 2: Why is Nakamura only ever hard on you?

潮:しらねーよ！
Ushio: I dunno!

Asako: Ok, Mayuko. You’re the committee chairman, you shouldn’t be late.

真由子：　うん、じゃね。
Mayuko: Right! Bye, Ushio.

潮：　いつもヒマな図書委員が、今日はムシボシか？
Ushio: The Library Committee doesn’t usually do much. Are you airing out the books today?

真由子：ううん　旧校舎にトラックがとまってるでしょう。
Mayuko: Oh, no. See that truck in front of the old schoolhouse?

真由子：　あれ　社会科で使う資料を運んできたのよ。
Mayuko: It’s carrying materials we’ll be using in social studies.


真由子：　社会科の石崎センセが、実家にあった古書や古道具を歴史の授業につかうｎ 　　だって
Mayuko: Mr. Ishizaki, the social studies teacher, had all of these old books and curios at his parents’ house. We can use them for history lessons.


真由子：　中には珍しい、
Mayuko: In amongst everything,

真由子：　石でできたヨロイもあるんだってよ。
Mayuko: There’s also some rare stone armor.

Ushio: Huh, so finally even your brainless underlings can be of some use!


麻子：だれが無能な部下よっ。だれがっ！
Asako: Who’s a brainless underling, huh? WHO?

とら：あんたなかなかやるね
Tora: You’re a spunky one

麻子：さっ真由子、そんなへんなウチしかかけないヤツほっとけ。
Asako: Come on, Mayuko. Forget this weirdo who can’t even pick up his own house.

麻子：　ホラ　ホラ
Asako: Come on, come on

真由子：　じゃね
Mayuko: Bye, Ushio

真由子：うん、それにあんまりヘンにかくと、野崎センセがおこるわよ。
Mayuko: Yeah, if anything funny happens, Mr. Nozaki will be really mad.


学生２：中村サンに井上サンか。。。
Student 2: Are Nakamura and Inoue…

潮：ばか　あいつらは小学校が同じなだけだ
Ushio: Don’t be stupid. They’ve just been in the same class since elementary!

学生１：校内の大好評娘二人としたしげにしやがって。。。
Student 1: Two of the most popular girls in school are really close…


とら：ふむ、で、おまえもあいつらを憎からず想うておる。。。と。
Tora: Hmm, so, you also think those two are not at all unattractive…


とら：特にあの威勢のいい方の
Tora: Especially that authoritarian one

学生２：うしおーひとりでなにやってんだー？
Student 2: What are you doin’ by yourself there, Ushio?

学生２：でも中村さんや井上さん。。。
Student 2: But Nakamura and Inoue…

潮：なんでもねー
Ushio: Nothing!

学生１：うん。。。よくうしおのかいたあの絵がわかったな！
Student 1: Yeah… Now you know how one of Ushio’s paintings feels.

Student: Just because your “boyfriend” isn’t here.

麻子：昔からオバケとかのウワサがたえないもんねえ。
Asako: There have been rumors of a ghost for a long time.

学生：ちょっとやめてよ～麻子～！！
Student: Stop it, Asako!!

Student: Chairman, why are we putting the books in the old schoolhouse anyway!?

真由子：だってフツーの通用口じゃジャマになるでしょ。
Mayuko: They’d just be in the way in the regular service hallways.

学生：　そうだけどさ～
Student: Yes, but~


麻子：大丈夫だって。今は昼間だしパッパッとやっちゃおう。
Asako: It’s okay. Now it’s the middle or the day and we’re all making plenty of noise.


真由子：　それに、ここ来年こわされるから、なんとなく愛着わくでしょ
Mayuko: Besides, since they’re planning to bulldoze this building next year,
we’ve somehow developed an attachment to it.

麻子：　わかないわよ～
Asako: Oh, I don’t know why~

学生：　もう委員長も麻子も、元気なんだから～
Student: Chairman, you and Asako sure seem to be in good spirits~

真由子：　コラ　意地っぱり！
Mayuko: Oh, you’re so stubborn!

麻子：　なっ、なによ？
Asako: Wh-what?


真由子：　なーんで麻子はうしおくんにスナオになれないのかな？
Mayuko: Why is it you never show Ushio your true self?

麻子：　あ。。。あたしはなにもっ！
Asako: I…I don’t know what you’re talking about!


学生：　え、なに、なに。麻子ってばうしおのことを。。。？
Student: Ooo, what, what? Asako and Ushio…?

学生：　え～っ　意外！！
Student: Ooo, how unexpected!!

真由子：なんでも大昔は没落士族だったんですって？
Mayuko: Because his ancestors were fallen samurai.


真由子：うわー　精密ねー！！
Mayuko: Oh my gosh. It’s so detailed!

麻子：　石を消すってつくったんでしょ、コレ？
Asako: It was made by chipping out the excess stone, right?


真由子：　まるでいきてるみたいね。
Mayuko: It looks as though it’s alive.

麻子：　やーだ真由子。
Asako: Oh, stop it, Mayuko.


麻子：　コレはただの石像でしょ。ねんのためかはわからないけどさ。
Asako: It’s just a stone statue. I’m not sure what we can do to make sure though.

とら：なんだうるさいな。
Tora: Quit pestering me…

潮：こんなハナシきいてておもしろいか？
Ushio: Are you really interested in this kind of stuff?

とら：　ああスゴクな。
Tora: Very much so.


とら：　五００年も穴の中で退屈しててんだぞ。人間のハナシでもおもしろいわ。
Tora: I was bored out of my mind in that cave for 500 years. Even human speech is interesting.

とら：五００年の間になにがあったのかもしりたいしな。
Tora: I want to know what happened in the past 500 years.

とら：だからおまえしずかにしてろよ。
Tora: So be quiet.


とら：でもけっこうあの「センコウ」とかいう講釈師面白いこというな。
Tora: This “teecha” storyteller doesn’t put on much of a show though.

とら：はは　ブシはくわねどたかようじだってよ！
Tora: Ha ha I picked pieces of those warriors out of my teeth!

潮：なんのこーちゃ

潮：　旧校舎。槍が教えてる！？
Ushio: The old schoolhouse. The spear is telling me!?
