Ushio: A-amazing…

潮： オ。。。オヤジもとらもまったくスキがねえ。。。
でも、二人してあんな。。。殺しあうなんてよ～
Ushio: They’re evenly matched…
They really plan on fighting to the death!

禰宜たち： 今より仕掛けますか？
Priest: Should we engage the youkai now?

禰宜たち： いや、様子をみよう。全員そろっているではないか。。。
Priest: No, let us wait and see. We are all present.


成宗: 妖怪を滅殺し槍をあるべきところへもち帰れ！
Jousou: Return the demon-killing Spear to the place it belongs!

禰宜たち： 紫暮が妖怪を滅し、みているあの息子が槍をもって
おろおろ愚態をさらすのを確かめてからでもおそくないだろう。。。
自分が上の方に信じられていないとしって、
紫暮にとってはいいツラの皮だろうがな。。。
Priest: Shigure’s foolishness is plain to see but it’s not too late,
so long as he destroys the youkai and takes the Spear from his watching son…
He was quite shameless, not believing in his superiors…


禰宜： 朏の陣をかけるぞ！
Priest: Get into crescent formation!


潮： ちょっ、ちょっとまったあっ！
Ushio: W-wait a minute!


潮： 二人ともまてよっ！！
Ushio: Wait, you two!!

「あやかし」ん時こりてるだろっ！？
Ushio: Tora, what are you doing fighting him?
Don’t you remember what we did in the Ayakashi!?


潮： オヤジっ　やめろよっ！　なんでオヤジがとら殺す必要あんのよっ！？
Ushio: Pops, stop this! Why do you have to kill Tora?

潮： わっ！！

紫暮： こ。。。これが「獣の槍」を使う。。。潮か。。。！
Shigure: This is...Ushio when he uses the Spear?


紫暮： 。。。まて　潮。。。
Shigure: Ushio, wait!


潮： オヤジもだいっ！
Ushio: You’re next, Pops!

Ushio: When I say stop,


潮： やめろよなっ！
Ushio: STOP!


禰宜たち： あ。。。ああ。。。
Priest: Ah…Aah…


禰宜たち： ばかな。。。！あの子供はー
Priest: It can’t be! That child-

禰宜たち： 獣の槍を使えるか。。。！？
Priest: That child can use the Spear!?


禰宜たち： まさか　武術も法術も心得ぬひ弱な子供が！
Priest: Unbelievable! He is a weak child with no knowledge of martial or spiritual arts!


禰宜たち： 早刻上の方々に報告せねば！
Priest: We must report this to our superiors at Soukoku!

潮： まったくオレぬきで脈絡のねえ、
ケンカはじめんなよなー。
Ushio: Don’t start up again unless you want some
more “reasoning” coming down on your heads.

潮： オヤジがそんな力もってんのは納得できても、
なんでとらを討つ必要あんのよ！
Ushio: Even if you have this kind of power,
why are you attacking Tora with it!?


とら： おい！
Tora: Oi!


とら： なんでだ？
Tora: What’s going on here?

紫暮： バレておったか。。。
Shigure: Have I been exposed?

とら： バーカ！　「金縛り」とかもっと早くて
先のとんがったモンとか、いくらでも
わしとやる闘い方はあるだろーに、
かすめるだけだったからよ。
Tora: Come on!
You’d have to paralyze me a lot faster
and no matter how many of those pointy things you had,
the only way to fight me would be to cheat!



潮： どっ、どーいうコトよ！？
Ushio: W-what are you talking about!?

とら： そいつにゃわしを殺す気なんてなかったのよ！
Tora: He never intended to kill me.


潮： え？
Ushio: Huh?

紫暮： うちの寺―宗門には二つの顔がある。。。
Shigure: There are two faces to our temple’s sect.


紫暮： ひとつは普通の宗教として仏の教えを衆生に広くひろめ、
魂の救いとすること。。。
Shigure: One tries to save souls by spreading the teachings of Buddha to people…


紫暮： もうひとつは世にあるあまたの妖怪たちを封じ、
あるいは滅し、日本より外にださぐニラみをきかせる顔。。。
Shigure: The other is the face that seals or destroys the multitude of youkai in the world and carefully watches and reports on the world outside Japan.


紫暮： その役目をもつ僧は特別の住職「法僧」として、
妖あるの報をきけばいつなん時、どこへでも封殺しに
いくことになっておるー。
その一人がわたしよ。。。
Shigure: The priests who fulfill this role are special chief priests called Housou.
Whenever there is a report of a bakemono,
they must go wherever it is to seal or kill it.
I am one of these Housou.


潮： ちぇーっ。　いってくれたってよかったのによーっ。
Ushio: Che-. Something else you never bothered telling me.

紫暮： これは秘密のことよ。おまえがべらべら話して
光覇明宗を俗なうさんくさいもんにするわけにいかん。
Shigure: It’s a secret. If you had started blabbing it around town,
the Kouhamei sect would be cast under suspicion.


紫暮： そして今回おまえがとらと呼ぶその妖怪の退治に
わたしが向けられたのさ。
Shigure: And so I have been forced to face and exorcise the youkai you call Tora.

潮： なんでだよ？確かにコイツはワルさばっかしてるけどさ、
今までそんなに大それたこたしてないと思うぜ。。。！
Ushio: But why? Sure, he’s pretty scary but I don’t think
he’s done anything terrible up to now.

紫暮： それはおまえとつきあってからだろう。伝承にはな。。。
Shigure: Not since he started haunting you. But in the legend…


紫暮： その状は悪　　 その性は凶。
Shigure: Its form is evil. Its nature is wicked.

紫暮： 「獣の槍」、はずるる時再び人々を食らい
恐怖をまき散らす。
Shigure: When the Beast Spear is taken away, it will once again
sow fear and devour humanity.


紫暮： だが、わたしもそのーとらがそんなに悪いとは思えなかった。
Shigure: But, I cannot believe this…Tora…is that kind of evil.

とら： けっ
Tora: Keh-


紫暮： 潮のハナシではなん度も命を助けられているというし
いいコンビなのではと思ったのよ
Shigure: From what Ushio has said, you’ve saved lives many times.
I think you two make a good team.

潮： ふん　そんなコトねーよ
Ushio: Hmph, it’s not like that-


紫暮： ！


紫暮： くっ！　上の方たちがわたしに任せっきりに
すまいとは思っていたがそれほど早いとは！
Shigure: Ku- They’re early!
I thought my superiors would give me enough time to finish this myself.

潮： なっ、なんだよ？
Ushio: Wh-what’s wrong?

Ushio: Wh-what’s going on!?

紫暮： だからわたしは試したのだとらを！
闘いの中でその性を見極めるために！！
Shigure: That’s why I fought Tora.
In order to examine his behavior during the fight.

紫暮： そして結論づけた！
Shigure: And then come to a decision.


紫暮： 否！
Shigure: Nay!

紫暮： とらと呼ばれるその妖怪を殺し封ずる必要なし！
Shigure: There is no need to kill or seal the youkai called Tora!


紫暮： むしろ潮と共同生活をすることで
これからの「獣の槍」での闘いに欠かせぬ存在になるであろう。
Shigure: Rather, if he lives alongside you,
we will be able to fight with the Beast Spear in the coming battle!


潮： どっ、どういうことよ。
Ushio: Wh-what are you talking about?

禰宜： 紫暮！やはり貴様使命を忘れて私情にはしったか！
「獣の槍」と、妖怪が共存できるか！
Priest: Shigure! Your emotions have made you forget your mission!
You think the Beast Spear can coexist with a youkai?

禰宜： 妖怪を倒し槍をあるべきところにもちてゆくのが、
ぬしの役目であろうがよ！
Priest: Your mission is to bring the youkai-killing Spear to the place it belongs!


紫暮： わたしの役目は見極めること。あの化生は悪のものにあらず！
息子もみてのとおり槍を使えたではないか！
Shigure: My mission is to make a determination. This creature is not evil!
And you have seen that my son can use the Beast Spear, just as I said!


禰宜： 変化に悪も善もないわ。ただ滅しくすのみ！
Priest: There is no good or evil with these creatures. There is only their destruction!

禰宜： 潮殿のことは報告するが、
しょせん普通の子に自在になる「獣の槍」ではない！
Priest: We will report about Ushio-dono.
After all, the Beast Spear would not bend its will to any normal child!


禰宜： 南無。。。！
Priest: Amen!

この者たちはおそらく「白面の者」と闘う運命をもつ者。。。
Shigure: I will not let you do this!
They are the ones who are destined to fight Hakumen no Mono…


禰宜： ふはは。。。うつけたか紫暮！
Priest: Fuhaha… You fool, Shigure!

禰宜： おぬし上の方に逆らうのかっ！？
Priest: You would defy your superiors!?


潮： オ。。。オヤジ。。。「白面の者」って誰だよっ。。。！？
Ushio: P-pops! Who is…Hakumen no Mono!?

潮： これから。。。「獣の槍」でやる闘いてなんだよ！
こいつらなんで。。。？
Ushio: And why do you want me to fight with the Beast Spear?
And what’s with these guys?


紫暮： この者たちは別の行動がある。通してもらおうか。。。
Shigure: They don’t usually behave like this. Please overlook it.


紫暮： 逃げろ潮！
Shigure: Run, Ushio!

禰宜： このしれ者が！
Priest: Fool!

紫暮： 母さんのコトをしってこい！
Shigure: Go find out about your mother!
