So let's take fire...it has an advantage over wind-natured jutsu, but it's weak against water-natured jutsu.
Drawing [Circles, starting w/top]: Fire, Wind, Lightning, Earth, Water
Drawing [small kanji, left to right]: Strong, Weak, Strong, Weak
Yamato: Dumbing it down even FURTHER...
Your wind-element jutsu will lose against Sasuke's fire-element jutsu. The only way to beat fire is water.
Naruto: How come?
Yamato: Wind feeds a fire and makes it stronger.
Water puts it out. [Jesus, how dumb IS Naruto??]
So if you countered Sasuke's fire jutsu with a wind jutsu of the same strength,
you'd only make the fire stronger.

Yamato: But take another look at the wind element.
It may be weak against fire, but it's strong against lightning.
Drawing: [circles are the same as before. Starting with the top circle and going clockwise, the kanji alternate between "weak" and "strong"]
Yamato: Meaning that your new jutsu can overcome Sasuke's ultimate lightning jutsu...

Yeah. If Sasuke is a fire-electric dual type, technically he should have a 4x weakness against ground-type attacks. XD
Also, was Kakuzu referring to Shikamaru or himself when comparing to Hidan? Brucelee's trans had Kakuzu saying that Shikamaru's sharp; yours has Kakuzu referring to himself. Original query was posted over in the C&C thread here.
