無知で愚かな子供も痛みを知ることで人へと成長する
Children, though foolish and ignorant, may grow into men and women by experiencing pain.

言うことも、考えることも、人のそれになる
Their thought and speech become those of men and women.
Panel 6, Jiraiya.
だからと言って友への想いを捨てるのが大人になることかの！？
And from that you get the idea that being an adult means giving up your love for your friends!?

Being a god, my thoughts and speech have grown accordingly.
先生。。。アナタはまだ人のまま。。。オレの言う事が分からないのは仕方がない
Sensei…you remain but a man…it's only natural you fail to grasp the meaning of my words.

そこまでズレるとはの。。。
You've gone crazier than I could imagine...

人の時には見えなかったものが神となった今は見える
That which I could not see as a man, is now clear to me as a god…
Panel 4, Pain.
そして神だからこそ人には出来ないことが出来ることに気付く
And I've come to the realization that, as a god, I'm now capable of feats human beings could never hope to accomplish.
簡単に言えば人からの進化だ
To put it simply, I've evolved.

Weapons of the ultimate scope and destructive power!
Panel 6, Jiraiya.
そんなものを造って争いにどう終止符を打つ？
And how the hell is that supposed to put an end to strife?
ますます争いが大きくなるだけであろーがの？
All you're gonna do is make conflicts even greater!

The nations are at war…
それを手っ取り早く終わらせるにはどうしたらいい？。。。自来也先生
What's the quickest way of putting an end to it all? Jiraiya Sensei…

だから聞いておろーが。ワシの質問に答えろ！
That's what I'm asking you, dammit, so answer already!
Panel 3, Pain.
争う国々にその禁術兵器を渡せばいいのだ
All that's necessary is to let the nations of the world have these kinjutsu weapons…
兵器を持てば必ず人はその力を使う
Man cannot resist the urge to use weapons in his possession.
Panel 4, Jiraiya.
どういうことだ？
Just what are you getting at?
Panel 4, Pain.
億単位の数の人間が一瞬で死に絶える。そして人々は恐怖する！
Hundreds of millions of people shall meet their end in the blink of an eye – the survivors shall know fear!
Panel 5, Pain.
人々が、国が、世界が
Every last man and woman, nation, the entire world…
痛みを知るのだ！！
will know pain!

Panel 1, Pain.
その恐怖心が抑止力を生み
Fear will serve as a deterrent.
争いは無くなる
And strife, shall be no more.
Panel 2, Pain.
この世界は今まだ安定に向け成長している途中だとも言える
You could very well say the world is still in the process of growing to the point of stability.
Panel 3, Pain.
痛みは世界を成長させる。かつてのオレがそうだったのと同じ様に
Pain will allow it to grow. Just as it did for me.
Panel 4, Pain.
世界が成長し考え歩き出すようになるには神の手助けがいる
The world is in need of God's help, if it is to grow to the point it can think and walk on its own two feet.
世界はまだ子供なのだ
It is, as yet, a child.
Panel 5, Jiraiya.
世界の成長のために痛みを教えてやる。。。それがお前の役目ということか？
To let the world feel the pain it needs to grow up…that's what you figure your role, is, eh?

*the verb "stunt"…thanks to Hisshou for the idea.

Kuchiyose does mean summon. I guess I got carried away leaving it untranslated...I've changed it so that it says "summon" now.

Not that it matters either, but I had abso-fu__ing-lutely no idea who this Takakura fellow was until you guys mentioned him right now.
What I do know (and it kinda matters, though not in the grand scheme of things) is that I was the only translator here to get the line right.
The others had Ken say Jiraiya's the clumsy one. ;)
I hadn't noticed, but you really are the only one who got GamaKen's line correct. It must be the 自分 that is throwing everyone else off...

well, its not difficult^^...he said "clumsy ole me"...that means clumsy Old Me...so he was talkin´ about himself and meant himself by beeing clumsy and NOT jiraiya beeing clumsy...

I guess it is the 自分 throwing people off.
One of the reasons I got it right is that I was lurking 2ch for spoilers as the chapter came out. There I could see native Japanese speakers saying things like "Gamaken himself admits he's clumsy" and such.
Also, in one of the early spoilers he was referred to as "不器用なヤマケンさん", so when I read the line, I said "Ah, this is why!"
It never occurred to me he could be referring to Jiraiya.
But then, when I saw other translators reading it that way, I wondered if my interpretation had been correct after all...why were the Japanese posters sure Ken was the 不器用 one?
And then it hit me that the construction もん/ものですから is used exclusively to excuse yourself , and never to blame someone else.
I looked it up in my 表現文型 textbook, and sure enough, it read ”[何か]を理由にして、自分の行動を説明する。自分の行動を正当化する表現である。
So Ken's excusing (正当化) himself with Jiraiya by saying he can't help it.
