*IMPORTANT*
As of 9/19/09
Unfortunately, I have too many things to handle on my plate, so I'm going to stop accepting requests until further notice. However I will continue working on series that I have already agreed to work on, which will be the following:
Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge
Seishun Pop!
AI: Pat
Okusan - Oh! My Sweet Honey!!

Hi everyone! I'm Mamo. Hopefully some of you know me for writing summaries for the manga shoutouts. Well, now I've taken the liberty to do some translating! Yay~! d>w<b
For scanlators, I am open for any requests, but please do keep in mind that I may be working on other requests so the time it takes for me to translate can vary from 1 hour to 5 days.
For fans, thank you for your support! I currently have 2, but it's better than none and the more I have, the more I'll be motivated to do some TLing.!
I am currently working on the following requests for translating the following series (in order of priority):
Seishun Pop! (Finished up to Ch. 3)
Dansai Bunri no Crime Edge (Finished Ch. 1)
Okusan - Oh! My Sweet Honey!!
AI:Pat!
Machigatta Light Novel no Tsukurikata
The rest I will also work on after the above priorities.
Any scanlators curious about my policies of translating, refer to the below text. (Warning: It's pretty long :p)
Note: Anyone who wishes to use my translation please inform me the language you would like to scanlate to so I can mark it on the "reserved" line on my translations to prevent other scanlators from overlapping the same language scanlation. Thanks for your understanding.
Anyways, hope you'll send me lots of requests! The more I get, the more motivated I'll get! ^-^

Here is my personal translation policy, most of what I believe and some parts I adapted from a fansubber named Otaking:
1) Everything is to be translated to proper English language except for the following:
- honorifics such as "chan", "san", "sama" unless it can be translated to make sense.
- Names and places that cannot be translated.
2) Anything that is translated that involves cultural things or inside jokes should require a brief yet understandable explanation of the term(s) involved at the end of the chapter as translator's notes. In this case, within the chapter, such instances will be translated at its best to provide the best quality of the manga as possible for readers to enjoy without deteriorating its original value.
3) Translations from Japanese to English are made so ALL English readers can understand the context without any confusion whatsoever. Not to mention those who leave the terms such as "onee-sama" or "onii-chan" left in Japanese when only about half the people who read manga or watch anime know what the term actually means. This would be unfair for the other half of the people would wouldn't know what it means. However, terms that have been long used throughout American media such as "sensei" can be left alone and are not subject to strict translations, however wherever translations are to made will be made. Although this may coincide with Rule #1, Rule #1 overrules Rule #3 if any conflicts occur.
4) Any translations that I make are technically are subject to copyright. Therefore any scanlators wishing to use the context of any of my translations is to contact me via PM or E-mail. Also please verify what language you are scanlating to.
5) I am open for any requests for translating. If I have no current requests, I may be working on mangas that I voluntarily choose to translate. If I cannot attend to translating the manga requested, I will inform you ASAP.
6) I am only limited to my personal knowledge of the Japanese and English languages and the assistance of my pocket translating electronic dictionary, so anything that needs proofreading or assistance I will specifically point out, and I am also open to any corrrections or questions with my translation.
7) Although I prefer going solo, I am also open for any joint operations among other translators, scanlators, and other associates. Please contact me if you wish to do so.
8) I am doing this out of my free time, so please do not expect me to translate immediately when a new raw scan is released. I am aware with these updates as I access MangaHelpers on a daily basis, and I will most likely be prioritizing with whatever I may be working on, may it be anything to do with MangaHelpers or anything to do with my personal life.
9) I also moderate a lot of mangas, doing work such as writing summaries and tagging mangas. I hope some of you know me do that job as I have appeared numerous times in the Manga Shoutouts beginning early July for writing summaries. This is just to tell you translating isn't only my job. I am therefore open to any questions relating to the summaries I write, any mangas that requires summaries (requests), or any information based on the manga I write summaries for (i.e publishing status). This would also be another reason to add to #8.
10) I wish for all English readers, not limited to those in the USA and UK, but to everyone else in the world, to enjoy translated manga provided by MangaHelpers to its fullest. I, being one of the many translators out there, am committed to providing those who lack the ability to translate or read Japanese with the manga(s) that he/she desires. That will fulfill my job as a translator and also as a bilingual person. I hope you enjoy my work and that of others who work for this site.
