[note]The original text reads ベガは//ベカでも//ベガ. This is a reference to the phrase coined by Japanese TV announcer Tetsushi Baba when Vega lost to Hokuto Vega in the 1993 Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Cup (originally ベガはベガでもホクトベガです). The syntax and spacing makes it tough to come up with a translation that works well, so I've opted to simply repeat the name three times.

A chance happening earlier this year led me to get a pet dog, a female miniature dachshund.
I'm a huge horse-racing fan, so I named her Vega after my favorite racehorse.

Was the double-crown winning racehorse that placed first in the Oka Sho (G1) and the Japanese Oaks (G1) in 1993.
She also became a successful mare after being retired. Her first son, Admire Vega, immediately became a derby racehorse, and she later birthed Admire Boss and Admire Don, making her the proud mother of three prizewinning stallions.

She was invited to the Dubai World Cup to run her retirement race, but fell midway through the race and died.
