7 - A New Age!

27)
1: Siiiiire!
2: Siiiiiiire!!
3: Hm?
4: D...did something happen?!
5: Hmmm...
6: He's in quite the hurry.
7: Did Yoroku's head roll?
8: I...impossible!
9: Ahhh?!

28)
1: Th...that fool!!
2: Ahhh!
3: C'mon, you ass!
4: Pull yourself together!
5: Ahoooo...
6: Uuu!

29)
1: He reeks of sake!
2(2b): Eh? Sake?
3(2b): So...drinking on the job, eh...? You could get the death penalty for this!!
4: I...I apologize, master!
5: But Lord Nobunaga ordered me to drink...
6(2b): Huh? What's that?
7: Lord Nobunaga and Sir Yoroku are having an extravagant drinking party on the main turret!
8: What?!
9: Ohhhh!!

30)
1: Yoh!
2: Hah!

31)
1: Sanyare! Sanyare!
2: Now step to the side!
3: Sanyare! Sanyare!
4: If it's fun, then Sanyare!

32)
1: This is the "Sanyare Dance" from Oumi.
2: Sanyare?
3(2b): It means "let there be happiness." This is a dance people do to wish for the happiness of all.
4(2b): Hooo. Take a good look at all this.
5(2b): At me, Nobunaga...and my people...
6: Your people?!

33)
1: I don't understand.
2: Understand what?
3: The Oda army mercilessly killed tens of thousands
4: of monks and disciples after they lost their wars.
5: While you may have ordered it, Lord Nobunaga,
6: it was your vassals and foot soldiers who carried out the deeds.
7: Any normal human would fear divine retribution.
8: But this didn't seem to faze the Oda army.
9: Are you saying that you can kill people just for the lofty purpose of uniting the nation?
10(2b): What's the true reason why you push your people to do those things?! That's what I don't understand!

34)
1: I said,
2: look at my people.
3: Your people?!
4: I work not for myself,
5: but for this nation!
6: And not through words.
7: My people feel the effects of my actions, and that is what moves them!

35)
1: The abolishment of the toll tax, the rigid enforcement of free markets and open guilds.
2: Orders for high-quality coins, repairs on the roads, the freedom to practice Christianity.
3: Nobunaga decisively removed the problems of transportation, business, industry, and ideals that bound his people,
4: Nnn...
5: and thereby gave freedom to their minds.
6: Yoroku could sense the shape of the new country Nobunaga was in the process of creating.
7: But he couldn't put it in words. It was extremely frustrating. He had come to Azuchi precisely to get a clearer picture of it all.

36)
1: How about we dance too?!
2: S...sure!

38)
1: Yoroku. What does Azuchi Castle look like to you?
2(2b): The mountains are low, and not fit for battle. However.
3: It is very fit to be the new capital of a new world!
4: Yes.

39)
1: All we need in this new world are me, and my people!
2(2b): If they hinder the power of my people, then court nobles, Buddhist priests...and even samurai must all be done away with!
3: Samurai must be done away with?!

40)
1: My ultimate goal
2: is to free the people!
3: Free the people!!
4: Yoroku was shocked to his core!
5: Nobunaga spoke of doing away with the entire samurai class if they bound the power of the people. His allies were obviously aware of the man's unwavering spirit. That's what allowed them to fight. The people were the ones who were truly in control of this war!
6: Nobunaga was truly an unusual ruler for the feudal, class-structure world he had been born into. He imagined a country with a single ruler gripping immense power, centralized through government officials and a permanent army. It was a system that would later come to be known as "absolute monarchism."

41)
1: A new ruler for a new country in a new age!
2: It was only then that Yoroku felt he was truly "seeing" Nobunaga!
