Hoop Men 9

Sorry for the delay...as some might know I had loads of homework to do and therefore didn't find time for Hoopmen until this Sunday. On top of that this chapter had some really tricky passages which is the reason why it took another day - about 5 hours - for the actual thing (like in the previous week I only typed the Japanese in parts I'm not 100%-ly sure if I got them spot on - and you might see quite a fair amount of Japanese script... *lol*).
On the other hand: Hoopmen's just so much fun, I'm really happy that I started manga translations with this series. For those who are not too familiar with WSJ and its hierarchy, expect this series to end in a couple of weeks, it tanked hard. But let's have fun these weeks, I for one will.^^

Yuuho: Did we really lose by miles every time? Or rather, is Tokiwa Central really that strong?

Yuuho: Wow…but somehow, how I see things, the whole team is in motion. It really is a good feeling, don’t you think so?

Fukuda: Yeah, it’s all thanks to Komuta and Josh, isn’t it?

オレらも小牟田と一緒に他校と試合すんのって初めてだけど...

こんだけガンガン点取れるとなると常盤中央(トキチュー)も小牟田にディフェンスを集中せざるをえない

Fukuda: This is our first match against another school with Komuta together but…
that guy really has amazing scoring abilities!! Even an opponent like Toki Central is snuffed out by his continued scoring
But not only that, apart from the scoring, Toki Central’s defense also has to concentrate on Komuta.
And when the defense concentrates on Atsumu
It opens up room for the others!

状況見て フリーの味方にパスさばいていくから相手にしたら守りにくいよ
小牟田とジョシュがいる事で みんな動きやすくなってる
それに...佐藤の力もデカいと思うよ
Fukuda(?): Josh has these infallible passes!!
He observes the situation and picks a free player to whom he plays a pass which makes defending difficult for the opponent.
Because we have Komuta and Josh participating has become much easier for everyone.
Moreover…Satou’s power is important as well, I think.

Yuuho: Huh?

ジョシュがやってる司令塔のポジションは「ポイントガード」コート上の監督と言われるんだけど...
当然 コミュニケーション力意志の疎通が必要なんだよね
佐藤が練習中通訳してなかったらジョシュとみんなかみ合ってないよ
Fukuda: Josh’s got the position of the control tower, the point guard. He’s in charge, supervising everything on court so to say but…
Therefore a considerable amount of communicational power, the will to understand is also inevitable, you know?
If it weren’t for Yuuho acting as the interpreter during training, Josh and the others would not have been able to work as a team.

Fukuda: There have been quite a lot teams lately that have players who are foreigners but…
It looks like there hasn’t been one who plays as point guard

Igarashi: Tokiwa Central, time out!!
Someone: Alright!! Nice, Nakanishi-san!!

あの常盤中央(トキチュー)をこんなに押してるなんて...なんか オレ 涙出てきて...
Someone: We’re really dominating that Toki Central so far…somehow, I have to cry…

常盤中央も監督の喝から出口と永島が実力を発揮しだしはしたものの
ウチの方がチームとしていい感じにかみ合ってて
Yuuho (box): For Tokiwa Central as well, ever since that coach’s scolding, Deguchi and Nagashima show their true strength
But we on the contrary, have the great feeling of working together as a team
