Nurarihyon no Mago 72

Hurrah, first translation in a good few weeks. Thanks to all for being patient when Nura translations fell behind, and especially to hai_Priesty for taking the time to pick up where I left off!

Rikuo: You're right! Mr. Moon's in the pond!

Text left: There is no clear explanation of it, it is simply a phrase meant to conjure up that image in the mind of the reader... Rather than becoming hard to believe in, it actually gains an even greater presence...

Chapter Notes

Hatsu and Hyoui
Hatsu combines the characters for "oni/demon" with "emit, depart", so I went with an interpretation of "spirit emission".
Hyoui again takes the character for oni/demon and combines it with one which can mean "possess" or "haunt", so I went for "spirit infusion, possession". Hopefully these two interpretations help show the process of activating and manifesting Fear, then transferring it to a weapon and infusing it with that power.

Page 6, SFX: nurari
The sound effect here is, as you probably noticed, the same as the beginning of "Nurarihyon". During the Kyoto flashback arc, Youhime also makes the comparison between Nurarihyon's name/nature and this phrase, which indicates something slippery or evasive. It shows up again on page 12, where Nurarihyon uses the phrase "nurari kurari to" to describe how the moon slips away from your grasp when you try to touch it (its reflection) on the water.

Page 11-12, Meikyou Shisui & Kyouka Suigetsu
During Nurarihyon's explanation, the text shows these two phrases with regular speech over the top of them. This was mentioned in previous chapter notes when the moves first showed up, but I figured it was worth repeating: Meikyou Shisui [Clear – Mirror – Stop – Water] means something clear and calm as a polished mirror and still water (such as a mindset), while Kyouka Suigetsu [Mirror – Flower – Water – Moon] refers to the reflection of flowers in a mirror and of the moon in water, something which is visible but insubstantial and cannot be touched.

Page 19, Minagoroshi Jizou / 鏖地蔵
"Minagoroshi" means massacre.

Gitsune vs Kitsune
Earlier on I used Kitsune rather than Gitsune (the correct spelling of Hagoromo Gitsune's name) to keep the notion of the character's "kitsune" nature clear, but have now switched to Gitsune after consulting with another translator. Sorry for any confusion which may arise.
