Right Side: Kazuya Kagami never goes anywhere without the precious “Sakura Obi” his mother gave him. One day a beautiful, kimono-clad girl named Kiriha appeared before him. Kiriha naturally began to live with Kazuya in his room. Then there's Chisato, Kazuya's childhood friend with glasses and a ponytail, who meddles in his affairs. Soon there's also an overprotective older sister who seems to want to take baths with him. Jumble in a huge-chested priestess, a good-looking sorceress named Kokuyou, beautiful women, and hot girls, and Kazuya's happy, embarassing, terrifying life begins... Brought to you by the overwhelming artistic talent of Yoshikazu Hamada, this is a low-key fantasy schoolyard love comedy.

Special TL note: Kiriha speaks in an old form of Japanese, rendered here using early modern English, or “Shakespearean” English. For those of you unfamiliar, the main differences are in certain grammar (“thou wert”, “mine apple”, “he speaketh”, etc.), and certain phrasing conventions. At the same time, the type of language she uses is more like a warrior than a thespian. To maintain the nuance of archaic language, but to keep her from sounding too cheesy, I've translated her lines using mostly modern wording and spelling, but with the older grammar where appropriate. I hope it makes sense!

Conventions: Names are spelled out the first time, abbreviated thereafter. Sound effects that I think are necessary to understanding the action are translated with SFX. Translation notes to the editor (not for publication) are marked with “Ed:” Other TL notes may be published if you want to edit them in.

I gave up transcribing the Japanese text after page 13 because it made the process four times slower. This author uses a lot of text variations that are tedious to type out. Hopefully 13 pages is enough starting material for anyone who wants to check their work against mine.

long box: Tsukune Aono (human) accidentally enrolled in the monster-only Youkai* Private Academy! Even though Tsukune ended up staying to befriend the school's number one beauty, Moka Akashiya, at this school, the rule is "Any human discovered here will be killed." \ Tsukune lives life hiding his true form, but the school's public safety commission and "Antithesis", an organization of wayward students, were watching him and causing trouble every day. However, with the help of his friends in the newspaper club, Moka, Kurumu, Yukari, and Mizore, Tsukune is gradually getting stronger. \ After that, his cousin Kyou-chan showed up at Youkai Academy's Open-House and Festival! Even though everyone tried to hide the school's true identity from her, the power of the magic mirror Ririsu (Release) caused all the students to change into their monster form and run amok! Because of this, the campus was heavily damaged and was tempoarily closed. Until the school reopens, Tsukune has had to go back to living in the human world. But then...?! (*TL NOTE: The Youkai in Youkai academy is not the same kanji as Youkai=monster, it's a homonym to cleverly disguise the school's nature.)

Moka intro: MOKA AKASHIYA \ She is the most beautiful girl at school, and the object of adoration of all the male students. When the rosary on her chest is removed, her inner personality, a super-vampire, manifests and shows her true power. Her favorite food is Tsukune's blood.
