Toriko 30 – Sunny!
I will separate by bubbles and it will be indicated with a new line with a “=” sign in the beginning of the line. If it’s not in a bubble, then it will begin with a “++”

Toriko
= De~liciou~s “Drunken Beef”!!
= Oh this is bad
= This is truly what it means to be drunk on the taste!!
= I’m getting drunk...
Komatsu
= He... Hey, Toriko-san...
= Did you really have to bring food all the way outsi...
Chief
= See here, let me have some, too!
= Give it to me, you! It was mine to begin with
Toriko
= Why you... Like I’ll give you any
= You drunkard!
Komatsu
= ...What are these people doing...
Rin
= !
= Like, he’s here! (t/n: I didn’t look at how kewl0210 usually translates Rin’s lines, but she does have always put a little thing at all her lines, and in Japan, you see this with a lot of young people. It really is about the equivalent of people in the States saying “Like, blahblahblah”. This is in case kewl0210 translates them differently. If not, you just wasted your time reading this stupid note and I’m sorry -__-;; Oh, and while I’m at this, I don’t really do SFX’s, so sorry if you wanted those :( )
++(Side text) Toriko into the “Biotope 1”! The emerging man is...!?

++ (Text) Regal Mammoth... Captured with ease!!
Page 3
Komatsu
= Hu...
= Huuge!!!
= Tha... So that’s the treasured food of the ancient times, the Regal Mammoth!!
= What size!!
= And on top of that, who’s that person that’s carrying it with just one hand...!?
Chief
= Fufu... It’s not with just one hand, per se
= ... At any rate, that size...
= Oh
Pages 4-5
++ Gang Hood
++ (Reptile)
++ Capture Level 15 (t/n: I THINK it’s Gang Hood... It might be Gang Food)
Komatsu
= Aah!!
= A swarm of Gang Hoods...!!
= They’re ferocious beasts with a vast appetite!!
= They’re planning to seize the Regal Mammoth!!
Toriko
= No need to worry
Komatsu
= Eh...
= ...But...
Toriko
= Just watch...
Gang Hood
= Buruaaa

G.H.
= Gah...!?
= Ka...
Page 7
Komatsu
++ Huh...?
= Kno...
++ Knocking-!?
++ He’s not even touching them...
++ How on earth did he...!?
Page 8
Chief
= Ouwawa
Sunny
= Ah, sorr’
= Was it a lil’ heavy, Chief? (t/n: Sunny apparently has a funny way of speaking as well, and it’s omitting a syllable here and there, so I tried to reflect this as naturally as I could)
++ Sunny
++ – One of the Four Gourmet Provider Emperors – (t/n: shuffled the Japanese a bit to make it smoother for English readers)
Page 9
Sunny
= But nice catch! – ‘S expected (t/n: Shorted from “As expected”) it seems that your physical strength hasn’t waned one bit BUT...
= There’s not enough “beauty”...
= My heart doesn’t beat (t/n: a bit of interpretation here... He literally says “My chest doesn’t go badump”... yeah, you see how that doesn’t really work -_-) at al’ at the way your caught the Mammoth, and no sense of being moved whats’ever (t/n: from “whatsOever”.. yeah, this isn’t as easy as I thought), and I mean, you’re bowlegged and ugly and have no sexiness and why don’t you just die, I guess...
Komatsu
= What is this person–!!!
Chief
= Hey, Sunny!! Don’t be throwing around the precious “treasure food”!!
= You haven’t changed at all from before, why you!!
= You damned bastard!!!
Sunny
= I should like to be thanked for kindly lugging it all the way here
= Or rather, I don’t really want to be called a damned bastard by you, Chief...
Page 10
Sunny
= Hey
= – Long time, Toriko
= ...... Hm...... Your cells are more vitalized than in the older days... Elasticity of your skin is high as well
= It’s evidence that you’re eating good stuff
Toriko
= Hey, hey, Sunny, don’t go touching my skin all over the place, it’s uncomfortable
Rin
= Wait a sec, Brother. Like, I don’t want you to be touching Toriko as you please!!
Sunny
= ... Rin, you...
Page 11
Sunny
= ‘Hell are these clay pipe-like legs!!
++ After not having seen you for a long time
= And the fat under the skin is insane! You’re only eating swee~t stuff, aren’t you!!
Rin
= Like, shut up, and like, it doesn’t really have anything to do with you!
Sunny
= And like, don’t want to have anything to do with such a man-like sister
Rin
= Like, I don’t to hear it from a girly brother like you!
Sunny
= Like, like, like, shut up!! (t/n: the first two “like”’s are Sunny making fun of Rin)
Komatsu
= To... Toriko-san, that person...
= ...Um... He’s not touching anyone or anything like that, is he...?
= Emp...
Toriko
= He’s Sunny, an Emperor
= All of us are already...
= Being touched by his “Sensor” (t/n: his written “Sunny”)
Chief
= Excluding one...
Page 12
Toriko
= Terry
Sunny
= ......I see...... The Battle Wolf...
= Only he reacted to my “touch” (t/n: lit. “tactile sense”, but “touch” is not only a perfectly acceptable substitute but also the natural choice of translation)
= My “touch” that not even animals of strong alertness become aware of at all...
= How interesting, the prince of the ancient times...
= A clone?
= It’d be promising if it were on our side, but...
Chief
= No need to worry!!
= He’s Toriko’s partner!! I’m having them work together right away!!
= The target is the “Regal Mammoth”!!
Sunny
= Wha?
= Um...
= I caught the Regal, didn’t I...
++ (small text) That
Page 13
Chief
= This one is a “child”, Sunny!!
= The “parent”, which is way bigger than this one, has got to be around somewhere still!!
Sunny
= ......Eh?
Toriko
= Wh...at!?
Komatsu
= Thi...
= This Mammoth is...
Rin
= ...A child!!?
Page 14
++ The parent...
++ Just how...
Pages 15 - 16
(Nothing here)
Page 17
= The “enemy” is also in on this!! (t/n: “enemy” written “美食會”)
= A race is inevitable!! (t/n: “race”, the translation I used for 争奪戦 is literally translated as “struggle, contest, scramble, etc”, but since it’s really used for battles over something and they’re searching for the Regal Mammoth, I chose “race” instead)
= Capture the Mammoth first!!!
++ Race for the “Elephant”!! (t/n: A little play on words here. 争奪戦 (read soudatsusen) becomes 「象」奪戦 (read ZOUdatsusen) and... well, you get the rest)
Notes
- As usual, the credit stuff, and feel free to use it - just let me know! :)
- Scanslators, PLEASE try to keep all the formatting... the emphasis are there for a reason... especially the italics!
- kewl (the guy usually translating Toriko) made some good suggestions, and I've made a couple of minor changes here and there. Scanslators, if you want to keep things consistent with how they have been for the past several chapters (whatever that is, I don't read scanslations... :P), I am by no means closed off to changes, but I WOULD like you to let me know and consult me first about changes you'd like to make.

But yeah, Rin ends her lines with "shi" which is a sorta... that annoying teenage sorta way of talking. Just stick a note in this chapter and people will be aware and you don't need to write it in every time.
Thanks for doing this TL, I hadn't started it yet cause I've had finals.
Just, I translate his name as "Sani" because I think it looks a lot less... stupid.
And "Rin" with an r, because it's a Japanese name based on a kanji, 鈴, so should be written literally.
And yeah, "Hood" is what I'd have put. It's literally "fuddo", though fu and hu are the same kana. "Food" wouldn't be written that way.
The way you did Sani's speech is how I'd have done it. He shortens random words.
Also, "Four Gourmet Provider Emperors"? It's Shittennou, Four Heavenly Kings. And even since chapter 1, nobody's written it as "Gourmet Provider". It's always "Bishoku-ya". It's much cooler that way.
The word written as "enemy" is "Bishokukai". It's not written like you said, it's 美食會. The last kanji isn't used too much anywhere.
Also, you didn't translate the thing at the end. It's kind of really important. Most mangas don't put anything there, but this one always does.

Next issue too, a huge battle! And a historical first in Jump!?
本当の「香り付き」オールC番外編も!!
A real "Aroma attached" All Color extra compilation!!
(Course, you won't get any aromas from an online raw)
The rest is all fine. Thanks for the help, but let's try to keep things consistant.
For those scanlating, make sure you change the things you need to to keep things consistant, like "Bishoku-ya" and such.
As for the way Rin and Sunny speak, I chose the things I chose because I wanted to carry over the nuisances of the language... If the author intends his readers to feel whatever they feel when they read those teenage "dialects," I want to respect that and try to carry it over to English... I could have done these translations in less than a hour if I didn't care for those things...
The 天王 part of 四天王 was written with the furigana てんのう, and 天皇(てんのう) as we know refers to the Japanese Emperor, and hence, I sort of let the furigana take over for the translation, as authors often use a word and then give a different furigana for various reasons. I suppose it doesn't really matter either way. Although I do still prefer that the word Emperor goes in there.
Yeah, I just used Lin a few times in this chapter before I realized I should have used Rin but I was too lazy to change it :P
As for translating 美食屋, I think I do it because I wanted people to understand the meaning and not just read another Japanese word whose meaning they wouldn't understand. I suppose it wouldn't be a problem for long-time readers, but people new to the series may be confused. I do agree it'd be much easier and cooler to just say "Bishoku-ya".
Thanks for the catch on the kanji, I wasn't really paying attention...
As for your last comment, I understand that you'd like the scanslation releases to be consistent with your format, but I don't exactly appreciate your telling them what to do with my translation without my permission. That said, scanslators, I am by no means closed to changes, I just would like you to let me know and consult me about it first.
And now, off to make some edits.
P.S. @kewl: I do appreciate your taking time to check my translations. Perhaps I can reciprocate your services in the future - two translators collaborating is better than one, and Toriko deserves the best it can get!
