Through a mysterious power tied to his specially marked cloak, Pinedjem has returned Hien to his training days with his beloved master! But what sort of bizarre trap has Hien fallen into...and is there any way out of his former training!?

Anubis: He can reproduce a scene of the past, the deepest of memories, from the image hypnosis by the figure on his cloak, having them come to be in an illusion of a person they miss in their heart. The human heart is a fragile thing…………!! While the opponent understands the sense of illusion, hesitation arises due to the affections, obligations and the desired in the depths of their heart, fatally defeating them in this match.

Hien: N…no………!! Even if my head understands it’s an illusion, that surely is the form and voice of my dear master………! At this rate, I’ll get killed as he said……………!!

“Ryuukai Roushi”: Hoo, you’re thrusting it into your ganglia again so you can test an escape from this world. But that’s wicked mischief; it won’t defeat me at all, it’s impossible.

Pinedjem: Ho…how………!? I…shouldn’t have been defeated if you hadn’t returned to the real world and yet…………….! Y…y…you returned unaware………………!!
Hien: It wasn’t that I returned. I hit a ganglia that temporarily paralyzed my five senses the second time I stuck myself with the senbon.
Pinedjem: ………………R…right……!! You…cut off your five senses and intercepted the illusion world……………!
Hien: The crime of swindling as my master and dirtying my memories is high, but I’ve saved just your life. The ganglia in your forehead that I stabbed with my senbon are one for losing your consciousness without taking your life………………!!
Hien: IT’S FINE WITH THAT, MASTER. YOU TAUGHT TO ME NOT JUST THE WAY OF THE FIST, BUT THE WAY OF THE HEART.

TN: This chapter nearly was confusing but in a way think of it like this: Hien's first senbon to himself didn't work since he just didn't strike a nerve that would free him. The second paralyzed his five senses...which temporarily freed him from Pinedjem's grip though still made him stuck in the illusion world, then the final one towards his "master" ended the illusion. Hien did state "he didn't return", but remember this: he also knew from the start that this was Pinedjem's illusion and that his master wasn't real, thus the key being to defeat him and he'd defeat Pinedjem. (remember: the illusion could be seen through if smart enough, but can't be defeated as long as the heart desires to be with them) Though to tell the truth: in a part of the series that has had little to no true "character development" outside what happens in the battle (compared to, say, finding out about Togashi's desire for revenge against Jaki or why Date was kicked out of Otokojuku in previous arcs), seeing Hien's past a bit was a nice change of pace and probably shows that somehow there are stories behind these characters that they may not want to share with us all the time. (it would be a completely different shonen if they did that instead of...you know, wacky and crazy martial arts)
