With one barrier passed, Team Kinnikuman now has to solve the riddle of the second barrier...which is easier said than done because it requires Suguru's Defend Suit to be coated fully in blood...and he has a clean spot to be filled!

SACRIFICING HIS OWN LIFE! ASHURAMAN HEROIC DEATH IN ACTION!!

TN: I know I already made mention regarding Ashuraman's development way back in his last fight with Satan Cross but it does bear mentioning again: as stupid as some parts of his development were, he really has come a long way. The best part of the chapter essentially was him merely trying to explain that as great as Suguru surviving the falling ceiling would be, he needed the others to survive long enough to get to the final stage. It didn't sound like a typical friendship speech...but it was one that felt stronger then all the friendship padlum put together: this was less about friendship and more about actual teamwork, since Suguru by himself just can't win against Phoenix, Mammothman, Prisman and the last cloaked member. It is strange though: while usually I can't stand the friendship speeches in this series, this felt so much stronger and yet didn't even mention the dreaded "f" word even once since this was less about emotion and more about the logic of having the whole team around. (though now they're down one member...yet again)

Unfortunately, solving the matter of the falling ceiling and the Defend Suit coating came at a cost not only of Ashuraman...but in making the whole second barrier story even stupider. They just keep giving more and more conditions as to "how the Defend Suit has to get coated" that you just want to hit yourself on the head...or slit your wrist and hope it goes directly to the Defend Suit and not the barrier itself. The whole scene with the rest of the team slitting their wrists and the blood just being rejected was just a time-staller and really was just a way to force the sacrifice to occur by Ashuraman...let alone the nonsense regarding Geronimo suddenly carrying Indian knives with him. I get why Suguru did what he did back in the Satan Cross fight but it just felt way too specific that the second barrier had to be tied to the blood and "what kind of blood"...maybe if it wasn't we'd still have Ashuraman on our side...but who knows, he was ready to do this considering he was the last member of Team Soldier left.

Oh and one more thing: I somewhat chuckled at the part of Ramenman talking about "the children Choujin who will bear the burden of Phoenix becoming the king of Planet Kinniku"...you'll know why if you read Nisei and find out what "burdens" these children had until that time.
