Using a familiar weapon at his disposal, Suguru has completely cut off Omegaman from any more transformation material! But just because he may finally have an advantage against Team Phoenix...may mean it won't be for long!

Chapter 375: Scramble for the Kinniku Throne (102): Collaboration of the Evil Gods!

67.
KINNIKUMAN FAMOUS MATCHES SERIES (5)
KINNIKUMAN VS. BUFFALOMAN

O KINNIKUMAN (28M 45S – DOUBLE KINNIKU BUSTER) BUFFALOMAN X

MATCH DATA
’82 7 DEVIL CHOUJIN ARC FINAL MATCH
LOCATION: DEN’EN COLOSEIUM
SPECTATORS: 9,800 (FULL HOUSE)

The first to be introduced as a power confronting Kinnikuman’s Justice Choujin Corp was the 7 Devil Choujin lead by Buffaloman. Their impact was strong for just being this: the popularity of the 7 Devil Choujin is unrivaled by the 6 Devil Knights, Perfect Choujin and such that appeared after this; among them the leader-character Buffaloman produced a strange phenomenon of becoming No. 1 in the reader popularity poll, in spite of even being in the Devil Choujin.

Announcer: The Ganryuu Island Combo had momentarily feigned a Cross Bomber and have thrown a Cross Enzui, a new technique by their legs said to possess 10 times the power of their arms, into Omegaman’s head---!!
Announcer: Omegaman has once again fallen without taking a defensive stance once again with this unthinkable surprise attack---!!
Phoenix: Transform! Use your Metamorphoses and counterattack---!!
Omega: Ri…right, I have that.

69.
Omega: Omega Metamorphoses No. 8---!!
Suguru: Hahaha—Omegaman, your Transformation Beam is a useless thing facing my Square Parasol---!!
Omega: Ge---!!
Omega: Ge—my…my transformation function has a function of reacting to the sensibility facing scenery that I can see with my eyes of the buildings, plants, creatures and machines of the external world!!
Omega: Bu…but I can’t do any—thing with all the scenery of the external world that were my transformation targets covered by this massive parasol like this!!

70.
Neptune: With this, I’ll easily strike your head to the canvas and die, because you haven’t taken revenge for Geronimo who disappeared by you!!
Announcer: The falling Omegaman has been fiercely chased and caught in mid-air by Neptuneman!!
Neptune: Double Leg Suplex!!
Announcer: Omegaman has been seized in mid-air in the stance of the Double Leg Suplex, Neptuneman’s greatest special hold---!!
Phoenix: Can you really do that---!!

71.
Phoenix: Take this---!!
Phoenix: Gee—Kinnikuman!!
Suguru: Don’t forget that Neptuneman has a sworn friend in me like Omegaman has you!!
Announcer: Somehow Kinnikuman had caught Phoenix before he could destroy Neptuneman’s hold---!!
Neptune: Hey, Kinnikuman!!
Suguru: Now we’ll attack the enemies of everyone who were defeated by all of you!!

72.-73.
Suguru: RAINBOW BRIDGE SUPLEX!!
(TN: As disturbed as the attack…and the imagery is, there are a few notable Rainbow Bridges that this is probably referring to aside from a generic “rainbow bridge”, including a natural formation in Utah, a bridge between the United States and Canada around Niagara Falls, NY/Niagara Falls, Ontario and, most likely the one the attack was named after, a bridge in Tokyo between Shibaura and Odaiba that actually began construction in 1987, the same year as this chapter of Kinnikuman and was completed by 1993)
Announcer: Kinnikuman and and Neptuneman’s Ganryuu Island Combo have drawn a majestic rainbow bridge in the sky of Osaka Castle Panorama Stadium---!!
Announcer: At the same time as Kinnikuman and Neptuneman answering with a technique, Phoenix and Omegaman are falling face-up while spreading out fresh blood from their heads---!!

74.
Suguru: Hey, let’s go continue this, Neptuneman!!
Announcer: Now Kinnikuman is aiming for Omegaman and Neptuneman is aiming for Phoenix, entering a flying formation of a Diving Attack to their switched mutual prey---!! The connecting play of the Intelligence Combo, called miraculous until earlier, has been completely reversed in this development of the match, like it’s been transferred to the Ganryuu Island Combo---!!

75.
Harabote: On~~e, Two~~~…
Announcer: Well, the tournament chairman has started the count towards the downed Intelligence Combo, who has taken the combination play of the Ganryuu Island Combo---!!
Announcer: At this rate, Kinnikuman will inherit the Throne of Planet Kinniku if the Intelligence Combo doesn’t stand up within the Ten Count---!!
Suguru Don’t stand—now sleep---!!
Harabote: Three~~~~four~~~…
Intelligence: How…stupid! I…am a God; How can a Cho…Choujin I’ve created be defeated…

76.
Evil God: Don’t give up, Phoenix…no, God of Intelligence.
Phoenix: Oh, the four Evil Gods of Flight, Strength, Techniques and Brutality!
Evil God 1: It’s as we’ve said many times: if you, the God of Intelligence, is defeated like this, then we won’t be able to achieve the destruction of the Kinniku Royal Family and the single-handed control of the Choujin World by we Evil Gods.
Evil God 2: If that happens, then the World of Justice, which has passed thousands of years in length and is inconvenient to us, will again be powerful in the Choujin World…
Evil God 3: For that to not occur, we four Evil Gods must have you, the God of Intelligence, win against Kinnikuman, even if we have to grant all the power we possess now.
Intelligence: Thanks, I’ll never fail if I borrow the power of the Four Evil Gods.

77.
Neptune: Wh…what: who exactly is Phoenix talking to!?
Neptune: I’ve been gazing from the shadows all along this Scramble for the Throne and I’d never thought that this battle would be controlled by what seems to be an unseen huge power behind this battle washed in blood by the blood of the Six Fated Princes, but…
Neptune: Wh…what if the something Phoenix is talking to is the true identity of the huge power controlling this battle!?
Harabote: Seve~~n, Eig~~ht.
Suguru: Here it comes—in two more count, we’ll have victory!!

78.
Evil God: Here we go—God of Intelligence---!!
Suguru: Ooh—What--!? Four fireballs are falling towards Phoenix---!!
Announcer: Four fireballs from the sky are suddenly falling and are crashing into Phoenix’s body---!!

79.
Suguru: Uwa!!
Mayumi: Hey—chairman, can’t you hurry with the last 1 count---!!
Harabote: U…um, immediately…
Announcer: With that, the successor of the Throne of Planet Kinniku is decided---!!
Voice: Hehehe………

80.
Phoenix: I’m sorry but you can’t put in that last count!!
Announcer: Geee—Phoenix, who should have lost by knock-out and inevitably dead, and Omegaman are standing up---!!
Suguru: And…further, Phoenix’s body…has further transformed into a sturdier, tougher body like steel than before!!
Neptune: So…some unseen huge power has gone into Phoenix’s body…

81.
Suguru: Hee—y, Phoenix may have completely revived, but it’s possible to completely K.O Omegaman---!!
Phoenix: Kinnikuman, don’t think we’re the us we’ve been until now!!
Phoenix: Phoenix Combination---!!
Announcer: Somehow Phoenix’s legs have entwined around Omegaman’s torso, combining with him--!!
Phoenix: Phoenix Madness Wave---!!
(TN: The “madness” of “Phoenix Madness Wave” is “Ranshin”, which is Japanese for “going deranged” or “going mad”)

82.
Neptune: N—o: Kinnikuman, that’s a hypnosis beam. Don’t lo—ok!!
Suguru: Huh!?
Suguru: Owa!!
Suguru: …………
Phoenix: Al—right, Kinnikuman, you’ve fallen for my hypnotism. Now you will do whatever I say. Float in mid-air--!!
Suguru: Ye…yes, I…will…float in mid-air…
Neptune: Th…this is!?

83.
Phoenix: Omegaman, in truth your transformation function isn’t just for scenery in the outside world; it should react as well to images which are called within a person’s head.
Omega: Ye…yes, it’s possible!
Phoenix: So then, I will call forth a certain thing in Kinnikuman and this image, Omegaman, will be transformed into by you.
Phoenix: Kinnikuman, call forth the one Choujin that is the strongest and that you think you’re no match for until now within your entire lifetime as a Choujin wrestler.
Neptune: Right—that Phoenix will have Omegaman transform into the Choujin that Kinnikuman hates the most and plans to defeat Kinnikuman with this hated Choujin!!
Suguru: In…my life…the…Choujin…I think is the strongest is…Pri…
Terry: No—Kinnikuma—n is calling forth just that Choujin---!!

84.
Terry: If that Choujin appears in the form of his heyday without possessing his age, then perhaps you’ll be smashed by his killer shooting techniques!!
Ramen: Ramen: Don’t call him forth—the opponent who was admired as the big-shot of Hawaii and who is the the only black spot within Suguru’s 21 Single-Matches; just that great grappling king---!!
Suguru: The…Choujin I think is…the strongest is…Prince…Ka – me – ha – me…

85.
Phoenix: There—it appeared—Kinnikuman’s image! Omegaman, prepare the transformation immediately!!
Omega: Omega Metamorphoses Last Transformation: Prince Kamehame---!!

(SCRAMBLE FOR THE KINNIKU THRONE ARC)
SPECIAL VTR LC (XXXXXXXXX)
KINNIKUMAN, NEPTUNEMAN VS. OMEGAMAN

TN: I think we've just witnessed one of the most disturbing attacks in all of Kinnikuman...and it isn't what many have told me what it is! To a few friends, the most disturbing attack in the chapter (and thus for the series) is the combo Rainbow Bridge Suplex, which is just two aerial Double Leg Suplexes colliding into one another. The name stinks...but it isn't that bad a technique. No, the most disturbing move in this chapter (and thus for a while in this series)...is obviously the Phoenix Combination. I mean...look at where Phoenix is in relativity to Omegaman...I know he has done and been through some rather traumatic moments in his life but...eww.

Then of course there is the whole matter regarding the other half of that bit...and that is a story in itself! How in the heck does Super Phoenix suddenly gain the ability to become a hypnotist through his power!? Did that happen thanks to the combination of the other Evil Gods making him powerful enough to do this...or was it possibly a means of the Omega Metamorphoses beam passing through him through...that formation...allowing for him to gain hypnotic powers? And let's not get into the whole matter of images popping out of Suguru's head literally for Omegaman to transform into. I mean, that happening just gave me disturbed vibes all over again for "Kamehame the Meat Projector" (yeah...ironic that he possibly is returning considering what his corpse pulled in a similar fashion) Somehow I sort of wished there was more of a vibe akin to "Ghostbusters" with this antics, where "the first thing that pops into Suguru's mind after being hypnotized ends up being the means for his destruction". Yeah it wouldn't be original and who knows if Kamehame would be the means of said destruction (personally I say it's the mascot for Suguru's favorite gyuudon joint), but I guess they need the whole visual thing for it to work.

And speaking of "visual things", I still don't quite get the whole matter as to why Omegaman needs to specifically have mechanisms and objects from "the outdoors" for his Metamorphoses to work. (prior to Phoenix's semi-Gozer-esque bit) Omegaman's beam should pretty much work on anything, allowing for him to fuse with anything in and around the arena aside from certain treated objects (hence something like the Magic Square being immune) and turning the entire arena into his playground. The only means I can think of is perhaps Omegaman's own code preventing him from attacking anyone or anything watching the match...sure he can abduct an airplane and kill anyone in it in the process, but he just doesn't want to kill any of that gaping-mouth audience who just does their usual bit while he's fighting.

And then there's the whole Evil Gods bit...yeah, at least we finally have Neptuneman catching on to their manipulations and their being behind the whole tournament, but somehow I really hate how they keep confusing and blurring the line between the God and the Prince candidate. I mean, there are some moments where I think it's Phoenix talking when it's actually the God of Intelligence...and vice versa. I sort of wished it was all cleared up but we're 12 chapters from the end at this point so it's a tad late to start asking them.
